Ninja looting is still a thing?

I assembled a group for the rage and zam alerts. We get into rage, clear the first room and then a 95 level ring drops. I press need and won the loot. The tank gets snarky and replies "like you needed it". I told him go to the vendor. We were about to get into the first boss fight with Ursa and then all of a sudden I am back in the HoD. Only thing I can gather is that I got kicked because a tank with WoL1 and AF1 gear got mad that he didn't get all the loot he wanted. My question is, do most/many people still follow ninja loot rules? And why?

Wait what??, there aren't any rolls for 95 gear, that only comes from the Solos and duos, in fact I haven't seen a roll window on any of the new alerts or the raid for anything other than base items or collections.

The new 95 ring in my inventory says different...

I still follow the ninja loot rules. If I don't need it, but want it for salvage, ill greed on it. I mean if he is wearing WoL1 and AF1, which mean 90 and 92 gears, that 95 ring would benefits him more than you.

Ads does randomly drop 95 gears in alerts. Very rare though

I see 95 drops from adds quite often in the WotL 2 duo and alerts.

Everyone gets their own loot now. You shouldn't have to be kicking people just because you miss out on the few things that we get to roll on.

Was it just regular cr95 unattuned ring?
Sometimes ppl kick for most stupid reasons.
