Why are you dogging this guy. In one post your anti capsules then he says he spent some dough on the things and got nothing he wanted and is saying he doesn't like the either. Yet you are making fun of him. He's upset just like you. No one asked you to feel bad for him. For all you know he is new and didn't know a thing. He's only helping to prove your point yet you are tearing him down. Makes sense. And yeah its daybreaks fault that the guy dropped the price of a new video game and got nothing he wanted. Its 100 percent their fault. They made the drop rates as such. If someone spends that much they should get things they want.
and the broker hardly helps the situation. apparently there's only 1 rare collection per capsule collection but plenty of people trying to capitalize on the teamup capsules. for example even the non rare collections like thawne family tree and tiny broken lightning bolt are going for 400-500k. was it the same for phoenix material?
The common pieces are always more expensive during the f irst weekend. It's been true of every time capsule since the first one. Take it from someone who's made hundreds of millions of dollars off of the time capsules. the price will go down over the next week. The material colllections will probably hover in the hundreds of thousands for longer than the other collections.
No, it's not their fault. They didn't put a gun to his head and force him into spending $75 on stabilizers. No one. Not I, not you, not Daybreak. And don't give me this guff about the price of a video game when this game costs nothing to install and if you choose, nothing to play. You can play this game without pulling $1 out of your wallet, unlike many of us who forked out $59.99 to buy the disk then had to pay the $14.99 after the free month was up and this horrible drop rate is nothing new. Horrible drop rates have been the norm ever since Daybreak took over the show but as I said, caveat emptor, let the buyer beware. And this guy is an All Access player meaning he isn't that new and should have known better. Believe me, I feel his pain but this is like keeping pumping money into a slot machine that won't pay off. You got to know when it's time to walk away. If he spent the first $20 and got garbage from the TC's that should have been a clue to stop spending money.
glad that's true. i'll probably save cash up for the one expensive collection. it seems every time i buy the complete collection minus rare ones for a capsule collection i get those exact same collections back via capsule drops.
These forums are filled with too much negativity and other players trying to skew everyone's opinions towards their own. I would suggest coming back and seeing for yourself. The forums are not any where near a reliable source for the way the game is.
I personally do not have any issues with TC's except for the SP but it is what it is. Like Fatal said...All this hate & more. Someone is buying the TC's and if its not yous guys.... who is it? Just remember this testers, forumites & others. There is definitely more than just you, I or US in the game. The success of the TC's definitely prove that.
I like the way that you think. Instead of dogging new stuff. Some of these players could actually be a productive players within DCUO by making lists & working the numbers for the drop rates on these TC's. Instead they wish to sit there on their backsides doing nothing but complaining.
I never neglected the Success of TC's, I'm just not a fan of the RNG involvement. Like I've said in the past, people call TC's P2W, and then they say they hate them and then.. I see people buying stabilzers to open said items.
This is the smart play. If the collections are what you are after, sell everything now to save up for the rare collection pieces. some pieces of green arrow gear are selling between 6-10 mil a piece (head, back, chest).
Oh look more mods we wont need, except we will because healing is just horrible on stats, but hey the TC aren't P2W at all right. I'm so glad devs still listen to us, even if they chose to ignore everything we say if it means less P2W aspects in the game, I don't even know why I still pay a sub when I can barely play 1 day a week without regretting it.
Guys no matter how much you hate or complain about these time capsules, the truth is they are bringing in a lot of money. Expect new time capsules to drop in June with the new Episode and still with feats attached to them.
I was glad for once to get leg mod for my light alt. But I don't want to apply it to any piece of gear that is lower than 165 or 164. I know there is a mod removal kit in the vendor, but that is only for head piece isn't it? Or applies to all mods?
it a tactical mod remover tool for 25 marks and i'm pretty sure it'll remove them from any socket that has a tac mod in.
Would working out the numbers for them contribute in any way to the problem? Not arguing with you, just posing a question for reflection. Even if we knew scientifically that the Flaming Phoenix Feather had a one in 500 TCs chance of dropping, would the devs or the players modify things at all?
thing is: i can understand the frustration of players buying 100 and end with nothing. player hwo are new to TC might buy in and get the feeling of being tricked by this, fooled. i guess the time capsules are a success because a lot of players fall for it, working as intended. however: ppl are getting sick after a blind bargain and when they ralize they buyed the "pig in a poke". i can understand ppl getting fooled, and i can get why they get mad. question is how long daybreak let this happen and keeps the drop rates as they are. as long as enough ppl are trying theyr luck, as long the time capsels stay a success. and the lower the chances, the more sells, the more succes, the worse next time. untill we reach the point either noone is partizipating any longer. but there are feats... you know?
I like the tcs a lot, but the Problem Is that your member Status Is more and more worthless. Still have 500 Amazon tcs and Can Open 10 a Month but Need 500 to Open enough for the Chance to get the Last Piece of Phoenix material that Is non scence. I wont have opend all of them Till the Amazon tcs Returnd 4 Times. Make the memberstatus Worth to have it let Is Open all tcs we got droped and more Ppl will be members That Is what daybreak should Want paying Members Not some People WHO spent 1 or 2 Times Money for the tcs and Then Quit playing. Or combine it if you are a member for at least 1 year with no interruption you get the bonus to open as much tcs as you want
Let me share with you my story with TCs. 1st one I spent probably 100 bucks or so over the duration. Got everything I needed. With plenty to spare. In fact I have2 extra Crimson and 2 extra emerald. Maybe an extra amber. 2nd capsule I dropped a quick 50. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Got close to the hades crown so bought the last couple collections off the broker. Nothing. But I was dumb. Bought another 50. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Was done with time capsules. 3rd capsule I didn't drop a dime. Just used the stabilizers I earned. Got a void believe it or not. Sold it. I realized in game cash was the way to go for future capsules. This last one dropped and I said wth. Dropped a 20 spot. Wow. Was banging out chest and back pieces left and right. Finished the black flash face. A couple days went by. Was bored. Dropped another 20 because my luck was so good. More of the same. Well worth the investment. So either they upped the drop rates or I got extremely lucky. Either one im.not spending another dime. I'll go out on top not that empty feeling like I just spent 20 bucks on some fortified bytes and useless leg mods
