    So... biggest bit of news in the letter:

    Artifact slots. They're adding two, for a total of 5 slots.

    Allies are changing, longer duration.

    They're investigating cross faction grouping, hoping to implement in a few months.

    Also working on the revive mechanic.

    No mention of "Power Rings"... better luck next time I guess?

    To start with, we’re thrilled to be expanding one of the game’s biggest systems, Artifacts. We’ll be sharing more details as the feature gets closer to launch, but the headline here is that we’ll be opening 2 additional Artifact Slots increasing the total to 5.

    Next, we’re enhancing the impact Allies have in battle. Currently, Allies behave like a smart bomb, and they’re sometimes gone before you even see them. With our upcoming changes, you can expect them to stick around for much longer, fighting by your side, and making a meaningful difference in your heroic (or villainous) deeds!

    Other stuff we’re working on includes Private Matches! No more ‘looking for 1 then drop’ game-chat recruitment. This feature will bypass the minimum group size requirements for Duos/Alerts/Raids and allow you to create a group and go chase those feats. Want to test your might and solo a Duo? Have at it. Grab a few buds and take on a Raid? By all means.

    With Cross-Faction Leagues in the can, we’re now investigating Cross-Faction Grouping and hope to deliver this feature in the coming months.

    Broker overhaul. We know this experience needs some love and we’re on it. Expect longer consignment periods (think weeks not days) and far better messaging when this feature goes live.

    Battlefield collision improvements are on the horizon. It’s annoying at a minimum but can also lead to defeat when your character is hung up on your henchmen, pets, etc. We’re going to improve how your character collides with these entities.

    Additionally, improvements to the Knockout/Revive System are being planned. I’ve been in way too many groups that have failed to take down bosses due to chain-knockouts as we attempt to revive one another. We don’t have too many details to share just yet, but rest assured that we’re going to make this system more engaging and forgiving.

    There’s even more to come in terms of upgrades and enhancements, and many of these will take shape in the coming months. That said, we wanted to take a moment to highlight something special – our growing engagement with the community. A thriving game owes much to its players, and we’re excited to formally introduce Voltera, our new Community Manager for DC Universe Online! While her name may already be familiar from the forums and Discord, it's never too late to make a formal introduction. With Voltera on board, you can look forward to more community events with special rewards, the return of livestreams, and the launch of new and expanded volunteer programs in the near future! Be sure to give her a warm welcome and stay tuned for more community-focused updates!

    Aside from the fact that they just turned to extra mode to milking articafacts ($$$), 5 slots will be a total mess. Stacks upon each other, bunch of bugs, glitches, exploits, totally broken artifact system that never will be cared or fixed. Coffin of dcuo, here come the final nails...

    If they're smart about allies, they'll give them all a permanent passive to make collecting and leveling them all worthwhile for the min-maxers, in addition to whatever equipped passives and/or activated effects they end up designing.

    Congratulations on being the mandatory 'this change is the final nail' post. Fun fact: this game has had over 100 final nails in its coffin. And it's still going and still profitable.

    Well, before you'll do all of this, let me remind you about things you should do for the better game experience:

    - The currency tab is inconsistent and shows different order in different characters. Make it simple and organized.
    - So does the fortify tab.
    - The affinity is pretty useless at this moment. Attach it to the armory to make it benefit for dual spec players and the whole affinity need rework. As a might dps user, the C and D options are useless for example. And not have anything if I switch spec to tank for example.
    - The crafting is laggy, messy, and not fun. So now, that you make a new (and bad, very bad) feature to craft gear again, how about make the crafting system worth the energy and time to put on.
    - The artifact system (and the fact that the artifact is not available in every character after some level) makes the gameplay limited its potiental. Make it account bound, make it available for every character you have in the highest level as the artifact has. Forget this wolf totem bs. Its abismal.
    - So does the allies.
    - If you make the duos soloable (and beyond), then get rid of the stat clamp. Its not makes sense anyway.
    - add search bar to the bank
    - in the mail option, make a switch to disable/enable the league mates/friends/alts.
    - make the que option intelligent, and remember which stuff i qued for. Its annoying to reque every single thing if you finish one.
    - trackable feats
    - a proper group finder. its 2025, and ppl still spamming chats for groups. come on...

    Latest content has been super easy, even with just 3 artifacts. I wonder how they're going to make future raids even remotely challenging for players with 5 (or more, since there's no mention of removing/restricting swapping), while still playable for those who haven't even leveled 3 yet... Are they planning to nerf all artifacts, so that you'll actually need 5? That probably won't go over well with newer players, who will now have to spend 500 bucks, or farm Nth Metal for another year or more, being considered for an Elite raid group. Or are they just throwing the idea of keeping power creep in check out the window? Being ridiculously overpowered will be fun for a short while, but what then? o_O

    Should remove players' collisions with throwables/ability outside pvp phases or pvp matches.

    Sounds good all of it bring it on and new arts slots well I'm not surprised with how many we have now. I have a few max arts it would be sweet to not have always three for certain builds and just put the extra two on. This will make us more deadly and I say WHY the hell not?.


    Most of us have been fighting for years since the beginning our characters have learned so much and so have we. Why can't we be powerful and op hehehehe, but honestly I suspect they will balance out content going forward after that change to make bosses etc hit and fight like a tornado or volcano lol.


    They will probably make content balanced around that but also in time way in the future when we have 100 artifacts our slots will increase further as we become CR1000 hehehehe.

    This is going to be a mess.
    No matter if they change collision with our summon etc., you are adding more crap to the screen at the same time.
    5 artifacts that can possibly spawn a pet
    1 ally that will stay longer on the field
    3 henchmen
    1 mother box (random example)
    1 elemental tuned robot
    Depending on the loadout and equipment. For example, ghost belt, you can have over 10-12 summons around a single player on the screen, so x8 players in raid is from 80 to 88+ summons plus 8 players on the screen at the same time.

    Why would they tell you that power rings are coming? did they tell you that allies were coming before it came? did they tell you that artifacts were coming before that happened? I believe monetization happens out of the blue a lot like what happened to the new Ultimate mods which came out of the blue.

    If you take a look at how artifacts are designed they're actually meant for you to wear a lot more then five you're actually supposed to be able to wear them all especially if they're for your role. This is why there's such an issue surrounding art swapping. Artifacts were not designed for three slots they were also not designed for five slots they were designed for you to wear all of them at the time of development.

    It should be mandatory that they release a new slot every year going forward as you can tell they're a little late to the party that's why they're releasing two slots

    Still none of this solves population issues yes the population will be thriving because they get to enjoy an extra two slots but believe me the population will get bored quickly with only five slots. And then we'll be back to where we started with a low population. Pumping out more artifacts slots is not the answer an artifact tree is the answer. People have all the artifact maxed out its not that hard to max 1 artifact a month so 5 slots won't keep us happen for long

    They told us that those items were coming before they did... much like they just told us what is about to happen with artifacts and allies. You being delusional over this has nothing to do with how they relay information.

    I highly doubt they're going to release a new artifact slot every year, that would be ridiculous. An additional 2 slots is already pushing it, hopefully there will be limitations and restrictions on those extra slots.

    Revival system? We've been asking for that for years.
    Add more time to revive and 3 seconds of damage immunity.
    What details isn't there than that? Is there something else they plan on adding other features to it?

    I mean it's a PVE only MMO they haven't released Elite Plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus yet that's an additional nine slots we have yet to bring to the game. If they're bringing two extra slots to the game then we're going to see Elite plus plus and you can bet on it

    I'm sure they could implement E+++++++++++++++++++++++++ and give us all the art slots.

    In fact, I just got a confidential email...

    It was sent from my uncle's friend's cousin (twice removed) that just so happens to be the division vice commander in chief at Dimensional Inc. He said power rings are not coming. Sorry, buddy...
