Ok. I am relatively a new player. I have only reached T2 so far but I am getting better every day. I use the fire AM because at low cr and low sp it is the only way to get through the content and have a competitive edge needed to enjoy the game. The 2h weapon is my go to because i dont have a wm yet. Slow process when you dont really want to grind all day. So what is wrong with low ended players and new people having something of a learning build in place. In higher cr's i will switch bc it really is not the greatest but it gets the job done now. I haven't tried the other AM of other powers but it is a nice thing to have around.
I havent tried them yet. I will though. I think fire is great. It has gotten me to the top a few times.
I say go mental, and enjoy a relatively untouched power. But ya better do it soon, it's about to be broken.
Pet AM need only a power back mechanic and its ok ... u do decent dps if pet has power on sparing target pet AM > fire AM
The pet AM's are not on par with wm not like gadgets am. Like someone posted in one of he Earth guide thread: you don't even have control on buffing the pets as they scale with your cr but that makes weak when new content drops and are still weak even when we reach max cr. Also think of the dps loss you have to cast a non dps power to give power to your pet during that sec your doing no damage other than dots but remember its called dps. Then once you pop that power the pet doesn't instantly hit hard no there's a delay before it happens again dps loss. Overall Fire AM > Pets AM
Huh what does sparring target has to do with the overall aspect of the pets? if you think Pets AM are stronger than Fire AM then I will recommend run any raid & Alert and see for yourself. The Pets are the worse possible AM the devs decided to come up with along with Fire.
i never run pet AM in alerts or raids so i have no experience here i just tested pet am versus fire am on sparing target and pet am was doing better ...
Well believe me Pets are not all that Amazing in live, non competitive dps used them at all, I just want the devs to fix Earth AM and Fire AM especially fire since they need it the most.
Welcome to the game and the forums. Glad to see you're becoming familiar with the mechanics. I haven't been new in a long time. How hard is it nowadays to figure out what's going on?
I will say that, hands down, the absolute best part of AM is that the game pretty much tells you exactly how to play your power set - which tray powers you should assign to your loadout, and the exact order to cast them in. People can gripe all day and compete over which of their favorite powers' AMs are the #1 Worst, but at the end if the day all AM updates take the guess work out of playing a power.

not that hard. i stay vigilante with learning from youtube, forums, wiki, and play testing my own style. its a fun game to learn. not just the game itself, but the overall community and experience that could only be found by really wanting to get into the game.
This is true. It's kind of hard to screw up Electric DPSing after reading the available AM interactions, you literally 'use these four powers in a row, get extra damage and a power regen'
