New Loot System

I don't possibly see how it could get worse...

After all the time I've been playing, my main is only CR 70. Why? Because the loot system...
Hey! Look! It's the tenth time I've run this raid, and finally! A piece of Controller gear dropped!
I roll need. Either the other troll or a dps gets it. Usually it goes to the light dps.
I've bought all my gear for every increase in CR. I've only ever gotten 2 pieces from drops that actually helped improve my stats. One gave me a +2 in Health. The other gave me a +5 in Power. That's all the stat increases I've ever gotten in drops from duos, alerts, and raids. Solos? Where no one else can grab something good if it drops? Tank and Healer gear are all that drops.

So, tell me how the new system will possibly be worse? If only Tank and Healer gear drops for me, it's the same. If a piece of Controller gear actually drops, I will actually get it for a change.

So, I can only hope for an improvement from this...
If I don't get so fed up over the Booster Bundle BS Pack that I rage quit over being insulted by a chance to pay to lose a roll...

The maths there could be discussed... That is definitely a point, but I'm not sure how the new system compares to the old one when you consider that there's more loot being distributed. Now every major loot drop always drops as many pieces as there are players. In other words, on a normal run there are eight pieces distributed randomly.

In the old system, there's a random loot drop of fewer pieces, but someone in the group is bound to be able to roll Need on it. In my experience, however, a lot of the time even that gear is junk to the ones who can equip it.

It SEEMS like the old system is pretty much equal to the new one when it comes to the chances of getting loot you need. But someone else would have to do the probability calculations there

So basically, if im in Nexus last boss been in there for 6 hours wiping and everyone gets their own loot and I get a healer chest and im dps, and my off role is controller, that right there is enough to make me never want to pve or just play the game anymore.

6 hours of wiping + repair bill + pain of finding new ppl to finish with + healer chest for a HL dps = I'm done with this game.

now this isn't for me per say but it will be for a lot of ppl that play this game. this loot system will destroy a game that is very fun to play.

no it wont, you are getting a random loot drop for you only, so instead of someone stealing your tank/healer gear it now just goes to your inventory.

Unlike, say, the regular loot table only dropping tank gear on that run? I've had lots of Nexus runs where the final boss had nothing useful for me to roll on.

Also, sheesh. At six hours, I think I would've been out of there a while ago.

Before we say the new loot system sucks lets wait till it goes live. If its crap we should create 50 threads a day how bad it is, but until its not even live we should lay back and judge later when we have all tested it on the live server.

its an example, I would quit after about 3 hours if that. but I feel if your going to this and my entire league agrees with me, if all the gear drops for you are unattended that would make this new loot system so much better.

what i wonder, since i have always taken the time to carefully construct raid groups, and since launch have only seen ninja looting take place a handful of times, will this system actually slow down my progress?

As I understand it, it shouldn't slow down your progress. You will still have the same chance of that piece of gear dropping that you've always had. The only difference is that no one can need on it - it's yours automatically. But, just like the piece doesn't drop in every raid now, you have the same chance of not seeing it drop. It may drop for you, for another player, or not at all; but your actual chance of seeing it is the same as it ever was.

Ha, you got invited to my Nexus raid last night. Didn't join though.. . It was my first time in there, and made it through to the last boss before my son woke up and I had to quit. Thats an intense raid for sure. Good times though.

I like it. The current system is a nuisance. Too much drama.

As opposed to doing that now and having a healer piece drop for everyone to role on?

trying to remember who you were. i have an idea but it tends to all gel together when i pug. i usually go with the flow. i was in several nexus groups over the past few days...with only two of them being successful.

You didn't end up joining, we were having a time at the second boss because the tank kept dying... then a troll dc'd. Got a new tank and troll and it was pretty smooth up till the end. I do have to up my burn though. Thats full on in there. We had a troll DC at the last boss then the other troll got pissed because on of the DPS who wasn't even on his friends list wouldn't make him expert plans for free, so he left.

Thats the problem people never come to a agreement.
For now im happy with this new system,they should introduce boss trading drops while in the instance to trade gear you dont need.
When you out of instance you wil not be able to trade those gear any more.

this new loot system is awesome! I'll have a chance to finally get some of the styles i need

this sounds like it could make collecting alert and duo styles easier. i still need the dps feet that drop from star labs. i've lost the roll on it maybe eight times now.

i know which raid you were talking about. i actually regretted staying in the group i was in over accepting the ninja invite. turned out to be an extremely under geared group with a controller still in tier 4. ended up clearing it later on with a group of random pugs who knew all knew what they were doing.

Yeah, I was a bit let down for my first time in there. I'm full t5 except for 84 shoulders. One 85 leg dropped and the rest healer gear aside from a shield dropped before the last boss. Sucks I had to leave at him, but it is what it is. Was a bit disappointed at not getting anything from my first run though. I can see why people are unhappy about the loot, you need full t5 to run it smoothly, but t5 equivalent is what drops...
