Only raven bounty drops a box that will either contain new gear style or MOR. rest of T5 contents will drop random loot that goes straight to your inventory including the marks

    I'm really torn on this.

It may have been a better solution if there was a master looter option that worked correctly. I've had mixed results on Test where I've been getting about 50/50 drops I could use, while the others go straight to salvage since I never plan on respeccing to a different role powerset.

I would have no problem with this system if they allowed players to trade the items within the instance. Once you leave it though, it's locked.

Under the old system, if an epic dropped, I had to roll against 3 to 7 other players for it.

Under the new system, I get something but I have to roll against the entire loot table which is probably much much higher than 7 items.

Why people are stupidly dump now days :s. how simple it can get more than this? instead of 8 ppl rolling on 2 gear including extras like utility belt, plans and FE, you'll get them all for yourself. WTH is hard to understand about this? pretend its a freaking solo and there are 7 AI players there with you to help and you'll get the whole reward with no one rolling with you. i mean really ppl, have some sense of understanding.

To resume this new system, everyone get their own loot, but the entire group do not get the same item, is gonna be random even for roles?, or all of them are going to be like weapons change based on role when equip? plans may be better if they drop random to all so everyone can trade them, but gear is not tradeable, drop random gear to everyone to find out most get the wrong role like the solos xD, like one guy above say the gear should be tradeable until group drop the instance so all get something not just a bunch of drops to salvage because they do not want to re-spec powers just to get some styles.

You are forgeting that even now your group have roll against the entire table, and the items select will
be there for you to roll on it.

Thats the mains thing people seem to ignore, the drops are already "random" now.
I would love if we could trade, but if you look from SOE perspective, you would not.
league would be geared even more faster if that was to happen,
there would be 25% of each player getting something, lets say for healer,
every player could just give their healer pieces to healers, same for the other roles.

    50/50 seems just right.

I like the idea of 50/50. But I like to keep a set of each armor in the bank in case of respec.

Under the old system, to get an epic drop, you had to roll against the loot table, THEN roll against 3 to 7 other players.
Under the new system, to get an epic drop, you only have to roll against the loot table.

Thus, your odds are either quadrupled or octupled compared to what they used to be.

Sure, you will still get off-role gear ---- there are raids where you don't see any gear you can need on drop. This can still happen. But, when your gear does drop, you have it... not a 25% chance of getting it. A good league was like this, except that there were often 2 trollers, making a 50% chance, that is now a sure thing if it drops.
How can this not be better? And, you can salvage and/or sell (to vendor) the items that drop that you can't use, whereas before they simply went to someone else because you would greed or pass on them.

I cant speak for everyone but I don't think they'll stop playing just because the style sets. It might actually be fun lol
  10. Chuccles New Player

They could eliminate all loot drop issues by making everything tradeable or giving us the option to insta kick ninja looters and to take the item they just took from someone who needed it.

YEEEESSS!!!! THAT'S IT!!! W0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0!!!! Perfect!!! And to add to that idea; Any piece you got could be donated to a "need/greed/pass" for the rest of the group, but untill It's donated your loot is not visible to the other players so It's REALLY up to the player what to donate!!!
  12. The Lone Stranger Devoted Player

    I like this idea.
But make it need/pass (for need - it still needs to be your role or your off-role and Tanks still couldn't need on Healer gear).
Then, if everyone in the group passes on it, you get it. That way, if someone else needs it, they get it. But if no one needs it, you get it for what gain it may still provide for salvage.
This way, everyone gets their roll and off-role gear from their own table, and a chance at gear the other players get but can't use.

This is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard in my life.

    Must be trolling.

Holy **** are we still having people make "omg i dont like the new loot system!!! its screwing us all!!!! WHAT IF WE GET GEAR WE CANT USE!!!!!" posts?

For those of you who missed it, in the other tread, I created a diagram to explain how the new loot system works. See below:

Now as this loot system has confused the hell out of a lot of you, I will explain my diagram. The group on the left is a raid of 8 people running Nexus under the current Loot system. The group on the right is a raid of 8 people running the Nexus under the NEW, IMPROVED, VASTLY SUPERIOR Loot system. Each line represents a loot drop that went to somebody in the group.

    Left Group
As you can see, the group on the left only got 4 random (yes, RANDOM, meaning possibly not relevant to your role) loot drops from the final bosses table. The poor guy on the bottom was a support role but only DPS gear dropped. He wanted to roll on the DPS gear, but the league said if he does, he's booted from the league and will be declared a Ninja, so he ran the entire run and didn't get anything relevant to him. That poor guy is now locked out of Nexus loot until reset next week, unless he wants to use replay badges to unlock everything. The rest of them without lines lost out loot they rolled on. Overall, 5 people from that group left with nothing. The DPS hate each other now, because one person got the Level 87 DPS drop AND an 87 weapon! ******* greedy bastard!

    Right Group
On the other hand, the group on the right, well, instead of 4 random items, EACH OF THEM GOT THEIR OWN RANDOM LOOT DROP FROM THE BOSSES TABLE! Yep! Just as it works now, except every single person running the raid got their own drop that is private and exclusive to them!

3 of them got Level 87 Gear! The other 5 got level 86 gear! 2 Expert Plans dropped for 2 of the players! Unfortunately, some of the gear can't be worn by a few of the guys who got them, but that's no big deal because those players need the salvage feat and also some money from the sale of Complex materials, so it's all good. Some of the guys got DPS/support role gear and have been inspired to create an armor set for their off role, allowing them to be more flexible! Plus! none of them could ninja roll, so the league is still as one, and everybody is happy because nobody stole anybodies loot.

    Conclusion
The new loot system is the current system, except it's private and every person gets their own selection from each bosses loot table. Sometimes it might not be anything you can use (which ironically is exactly how it is now) but the important thing is, when something you need does drop for you, you get it. No luck based dice rolling.

If you still believe the current loot system is better than the new loot system, you are hopeless and should be placed upon a barge and set out into the Atlantic Ocean with no oars or sails. You are no longer fit for humanity.

I'm the guy on the bottom left (How'd you know I'm a troller?)! So, I'm really looking forward to this system. Especially once they get it into the older raids (CR 73).

No guess necessary. It's a common problem. I'm a controller myself and whilst running Nexus, I've seen 4 pieces of level 85+ controller gear that I needed drop (for arguments sake, 1 neck, 1 face and 1 ring, all 85, and a level 86 chest) . 2 of them I was lucky to win the roll on but if they had dropped whilst running with the new loot system, I'd have got them, guaranteed.

I'm still using a Level 82 bow because I can't find anything higher. I'd be willing to swap to hand blasters, and I've seen at least 2 Level 86 Hand Blaster drops, yet I've always lost the roll or had to follow the league's gentleman's agreement to pass on weapons you aren't using if somebody needs the item.

In the older raids, all I ever wanted was an unattuned runic bow. I saw them drop several times, but I was always battling against others to get it. I was always unsuccessful. But again had the new loot system been implemented, I would have had multiple runic bows, allowing me to build a controller bow and a DPS bow.

The new system a better system and I'd personally consider buying replay badges if I knew that I was guaranteed to get drops, even if they aren't relevant to my role. Sometimes it's nice to just know that on the off chance something rare does drop, it's going to be mine.
