After several runs these are my thoughts about this instance. - Running with familiar people = Like walk in a park. - Pug with good players, but no communication = Rather easy, but not so fluent than with friends. - Pug with not so good players (lot of these) = Next to impossible.
The hotfix with the difficulty changes is due this week, most likely Thursday. Stay tuned for details.
Yesterday, I finished LoA for the first time on a no-pug group. I knew the player(s) on the group was(were) great. I was the voice of experience giving tidbits of strategy, because don't think they have run it as much as I have. In the end, I was left with my mouth hanging. We didn't kill Serpent Claw, but the level of gameplay I witnessed exceeded my expectations, which were already very high. I saw this team masterfully counter Ras (which by the way, they discovered on their own, because they know the mechanics very well). It was a great joy to actually see a group of players coordinate and take advice properly. Usually, I've experienced people not focusing on a single target, as should be done. Best of all, a method was employed to reset a glitched Ras, which imo, simply unnecessarily increases the difficulty of the final fight. Conversely, it reminded me why I hate the LFG. This group was tailored by my friend and some of her league-mates. On her insistance, because she didn't want to try pug, I tried to make my own LFG group. Response was underwhelming and the only person that joined my group left immediately after joining (even though I was already loot lock for the day, having completed the place as Batman in a pug group).
Will that include a fix for Ra's not resetting correctly ? I'm not having a problem with the difficulty so far, but if you wipe on the final fight, it becomes nigh impossible with Ra's entering the fight immediately.
Last door will also stay shut with no teleporter, if during the cutscene a flight user supersonic'd into the room by accident. We've had to wipe because people were locked out. Ra's shield will last about 1min 45secs approx. which is waaaaaay too long. I also feel like we should be able to dodge Burning Claws attack as it stands you can either get out of LOS, Block, or if you have enough health to take a 2-3k hit just take it straight up. There is no dodging it, which is rather annoying. Other than that, I think the whole thing is a cakewalk.
This PVE Legends content isn't that bad. The easiest way to complete it is to use the characters your more comfortable with then change to the team up feat toons at the end if you still need those feats. At the final fight have at least one partner that can stun to control one of the sub bosses and have two partners beat them down. The fourth person would keep aggro on Ras and just kite him around the back room platform until the mini bosses are gone. Then with Ras, range him, but if you get aggro kite until he goes down. In round 2, do the same thing and lung him when he does his brawling stomp range attack. If your going for the declawed feat and are having trouble with serpent claw in one of the main rooms. i recommend going with 2 dr.fates and 2 range hard hitters. Have the dr.fates alternate circles and try to keep serpent claw in the circle and keep your pets out. Keeping him in the circle gives serpent a damage de-buff and make his damage a little more manageable. Watch out for green smoke and kite and you have a better chance of taking him down. Go in as a pre-made, its almost always frustrating going in with a pug grp.
LoA LPVE is not too hard, it's actually quite easy to beat. If you guys spent as much time learning mechanics and adapting to them as you do whining about how hard it is you would be beating it with ease. There are LOTS of people who already have all the feats from this content because they took the time to learn to beat it instead of folding their arms and sitting in the corner sulking when presented with a challenge. You guys want participation awards, you feel you should get all the gear and feats just for showing up and running the content. Don't you want a challenge? Don't you want to learn new content and have to overcome that challenge? Or do you want the same monotonous grind raid after raid with no fear of wiping? I like knowing that I earned my gear and my feats, I don't want participation awards.
OK I was not right I see it in youtube completing of Round 10 so it was my mistake. And gues what i have Twitch and youtube and my be speed of my NET conection is faster than evryone of you but this realy dosent mather. Maint thing and focus point is that lot of Elite players are scare to be equal to evryone elce this meen that they want to have more SP than others bether gear and stats than others and only way to keep this is content that only small % of players can finish it.
I'm a stalagmite hugger Noticed that yesterday. A friend pugged this place with me, twice, and it was a breeze. Against Ras I noticed I was the only person close to the stalagmite, because my friend was too busy countering poor Ras. This place is so much fun. Makes me wonder if we really need a general nerf, or simply nerf Serpent Claw.
So where is the fix ? you probably dont see the fact that majority of players cant finish this alert at all, not even speaking about the feats, because people who post here and call it easy are most likely 200+ SP with countless toons playing since beta knowing everything no lifers, no new player ever can finish this and any pug group with even good group will end up rage quitting.
Sigh... of course new players may have a hard time finishing this *new* content because it's not meant for them. How many times has this been addressed; new players should play through the old content to LEARN how to play and THEN try to tackle the end/new content. Just because an MMO releases new content doesnt mean there is an obligation to include content/difficulty level for new players with each release. If you cannot finish certain content, then perhaps, just perhaps, you need to look at the way you handled it; perhaps you need to time your blocks better or use block breaking moves more often. Maybe you need to tweak your loadout or character abilities. However, new players should not assume they can play end game content easily, if at all until they learn the basics. Oh, yes... I have a question for you; how can a new player expect to play and finish end-game content when that player hasn't played the game before?
Oh pleace try to understude purpes of this EVENT Pleace go and see what is Eevent for this game. This must to be for ALL players if you noice Spytle say that this will be a dayly mision for player that even not go OUT of Brainiac ship. SO hardes must to be same or close as Seasonal event or Toyland mision in Stryker Island. This content must to be very very easy for all couse is not END of game couse this not give you any gear only marks for more charakters. If this was how you thing END of game content must to have some SP or CR restriction but its free for All what must this meen for you - HOW you thing even EXP player will make 700+ cmpletings of this run if its so Hardest. If you want seriose chalange stop play PVE Legends is not for you go on SM or Raids now will have Elite raids so Pleace realise that this content is not for you if you thing that this make you so tuff. Is not normal to can finish L&W or LD for 20-15 min and LoA PVE to take 60-90 or 120+ min. My best score on LoA till today is 20 min and I dont thing this is allright. In SGC if one of players die 3 players hard but cant finish evry ot 3 posses but in LoA is imposible to kill Ras or Sperant with 3 ppl.
I'll say one thing about this content. It feels like I'm throwing marshmallows at the enemy and they are hitting us like freight trains.
Umm.. I disagree; it is not for all players. It is you who must look at the event carefully. You mean to tell me that a new player, someone who has not ever played this game before, should be able to finish LoA and in record time? Yeah right! Don't believe the hype. Just because its available for all does not mean everyone will be able to complete it with ease. Even a casual player will have to step up their game a bit to get through this one. I have already played the content; it can be done but it's not meant to be easy for everyone. Imagine how boring that would be. I dont look at the time or leaderboads for completion satisfaction; finishing the content and getting my reward(s) is more important to me than anyhthing else. Events are end-content limited time content that is available to all, in my opinion. Some are even restricted to DLC access. They can be fun and they are a challenge. Thats the way it is.
I can see why communication is an issue with you in the group. LoA is not hard. Period. I have completed it numerous times with 3 ppl. One of the times, it was a pug group. If you dont know the "tells" of when to block, lunge or ranged the target, then i dont know what to tell you. But, coming on here with your crying about how its too hard for you is ignorant. Go learn the mechanics of the game.
I have heard many rage quits in leaguechat over the guy who drops smoke bombs on you that tick for 1500. Still waiting for his nerf. There is no way devs tested each individual boss internally before they launched it. Legends PVE shouldnt be a challenge simply because there are no roles and in a major way legends pve is an introduction to the game for many new players other than pvp. I agree the fix is already in place. But right now legends pve is doing more hurt than good.
