Since this game is more about heroes and villains working together. 1st brainiac and now trying to save the emotional spectrum. I would like to see a unique HQ set up for both factions to hangout buy unique gear chat and group together. I also know players have mentioned a place for heroes and villains to hangout in the same place. To get the gear styles or, weapons sold in that HQ heroes and shouldn't be forced to team up. It should be the players choice. It's no secret some players of both factions won't team with the other faction. i also wouldn't have an issue with this being a dlc.
I think it could work for a DLC. What I've wanted for awhile now is faction elimination and just have mentors be our moral guidance. Afterall, not all villians are that bad, and not all heros that black and white. Constantine is more shady than other magic users, so why lump him with the others? Luthor, for all his villany, is more worried about him leading humanity to the top of the food chain? How is he getting a long with Grodd and Circe? They could have it start by having a raid or invasion take place on the WT and HOD. This forces everyone to fracture and split and work in smaller, more independent units. Plus any excuse to blow up the WT and HOD and get folks in the city would be great. This fictional DLC then would make it possible for those of a more negative affiliation to work with the other side. Afterall, haven't Batman and Lex worked together in Elseworlds to prevent alien threats? Guy and Bleez and co. were pretty friendly not to long ago. There are always reasons for teamups.
Why even stop at a unifaction headquarters? Why not include the option to allow heroes and villains to group for both PvE and PvP. The faction system is so annoying and theres a few people on the villain side I would love to group up with but due to us being split up by force, I basically can either level a character on that side or be unable to run with them. Like you had said, heroes can do evil things and villains can do heroic acts. Splitting us up was a terrible idea from the beginning. This game has a very small population compared to other MMORPG's
Part of the reason with this is because there's certain instances that have different enemies, allies, and lines of dialogue that only work for 1 faction and not the other. Like Assault has 2 versions, can you imagine heroes teaming with villains to beat the hell out of Jordan and Saint Walker while breaking Mogo in the process? Along with some parts of the Trigon dlc (Trigon's Prison for example. I don't think the heroes are gonna be too keen on working with the HIVE or villains with the titans). Plus, villains beat on Wonder Woman, heroes beat on Circe. Then we have the OC ops and I don't think heroes would have much to do in WayneTech/LuthorTech driven Gotham/Metro or helping Luthor lie to young Bruce 2 minutes after his parents die (which I'm assuming leads to the hero version of that operation). _________________________ Another bit: Most heroes can't even listen or serve usefulness in Suicide Squad in pvp and end up costing villains the match when there's 2-4 in 8v8s and 1-3 in 4v4/5v5. Adding pve to the mix and knowing how many players talk about the ****** heroes who treat their teammates like crap with a higher self sense of elitism than most villains have in T6 nowadays, think about how that would end up trying to work together to finish a unifaction raid or alert (even a duo) when 1-3 heroes start trying to take control of the instance and what the villains should do, then the villains stop and start arguing back, then nothing gets done in a higher chance than it does now on either side. It'll just add more problems to the game because as we know, this community is toxic, and 70% of it is composed of stupid little kids and immature middle-aged men and women (usually 30-50 year old dudes acting stupid..) who think they know more than anyone else, but also profile the most with the dc apps and such to just isolate those who don't meet their selfish requirements on either side. Just check out Versus chat on the average weekend. ______________________________ I wouldn't say it would be an impossible feat to accomplish....but until majority of the community learns how to not be hardheaded brats, I just don't see it being a fun or financial success for either the community or the company itself...
My take on this from several months ago... https://forums.station.sony.com/dcu...ake-dcuo-a-top-mmo.189601/page-3#post-2756347
Okay going back to my days on City of Heroes.. I like the idea of a place where heroes and villains can take off the boxing gloves and share a beer and just relax. And this idea by nowburn4it makes perfect sense. What we had on COH was a place called Pocket D which was a nightclub that both sides had access to and could hang out and just brag, chat, flirt or whatever. Now eventually, as the years passed they started adding a few Holiday related mission that actually allowed Heroes and Villains to team up. There was even one event that the heroes got a mission from THEIR contact but absolutely had to have at least 1 villain on the team in order to complete (no one else could click the glowie to finish the mission) . The villains had their own contact and the exact same thing applied.. they needed 1 or more heroes or the mission could not be finished. After that the next missions allowed mixed teams from both sides until the short arc was completed. Celestial Demon is right there would be a ton of issues trying to let heroes and villains team on a lot of normal stuff because of the many differences involved .. hey just using the Carmine Lighthouse DUO as an example.. Hero side before you face Bane you help Nightwing defeat KillerCroc and Deathstroke. Villain side you have to defeat Nightwing to get at Bane. BUT if the devs came up with some specific dual missions you only had access to through the new mingling spot those could be set up from the start to play out one way allowing heroes and villains to join in ... Here's another idea... special teleport pads that would allow teams of heroes or villains to from their PvP team in the bar and then TP right into a PVP match. Again this was something that was available in Pocket D and those players would up inside an ARENA match battling one another. It would take some work but could add a good bit of fun to the game
Love this idea of expanding the Oblivion Bar, it should be in a DLC............There should be a neutral place for the grey to meet together...
Hit the nail on the head with that one, it's already in the game and they should expand on it maybe some kind of co-operative mission for Villains and heroes you can collect daily it would bring more content to the game along side our other daily and weekly solo's, duos, alerts, raids etc....
I would love the option to play with heroes I know and like, but some of us came to villain side to escape hero side. I'm not trying to knock heroes in general (which is new for me), but I like being part of the smaller community. I would love to run content with my Gen 1 friends...
there should be more content that pits villains against heroes. i want to take on the big heroes like superman and batman. the devs needs to make more content unique to each faction and make less "hero and villain working together" content. i hate heroes and i want to see them all dead.
