New event and new artifact (Candle of Neron) log in notice

I got screenshots of the load ins but I'm not aware on how to add them here. Thus, I'll type the majority out of it instead. These are appearing on eu server.

New event "Campaign 2025"

Campaigns are a new type of event consisting of multiple Patrol events. Completing all of the patrol events in a campgain unlocks that campaign's rewards.

Rewards;

400 quarks 1x
Perfected Nth metal 1x
token_ ability_iconic_ebon_shadow_curse redeemable (guessing emote?)
First campaign is shock to the system, runs to March 24.

Note: By the left side followed by Static is Constatine from JLDC art, then Brainiac and lastly Harley.

New artificat "Candle of Neron"

Do you want power? Then offer up your soul for judgement with the Candle of Neron!

The candle of Neron increases your Critical Ability Attack Chance and grants you the new ability Soul Signature ability, which critically damages the eneemy and increases your Critical Ability Attack Damage.

But Neron is a tricky patron who likes to cut a Bad Deal. Score critical hits to collect enough Soul Stacks to ensure the deal works out in your favor.

So Save the Universe without it being Save the Universe? I dunno why they just can't retool STU into their Events Patrol system and let us get our much delayed STU feats? Also love how Artifacts just boil down to buy this to be OP and not what they started out as a way to give us new and innovative abilities or you know balancing Powers but typically lazy nuDCUO. Also is the Shock to the System content supposed to be for Black History Month almost done in 4 days? Yeesh

Good lord...is this another must run 20 of 30 days thing? So this is pretty much just going to be DCUO from now on... a series of progress bars back to back? DBG, quit stuffing SP in these things to take advantage of our FOMO and work on the episode instances for a while so maybe we won't have 3 pieces of content that are all the same and a re-used 2 year old raid and we'd be more apt to run things we WANT to run vs some mandatory check in (our 3rd daily 'task' now)

Nah, EU server gets the pop up but shares the downtime with US. Knowing the past recent records of when servers go live again, the first one to get access to the artifact will be more than likely the US.

I just finished both the Valentine's and Reckoning events to now have to grind this. Why Daybreak why? What's ironic is all the players who take vacations from DCUO will come back and find they've missed out on like 10 SP they can never get back in the meantime. Yeah that will keep our population sticky. Do they know players have been pissed missing the Superman emblem feat? It's like these new Devs don't know their playerbase or nothing? Shocking I know.

All of these events are so overwhelming. Neverending. Players are going to burn out. This is a tedious chore. Where is the fun part?

Not to mention the other Save the Universe stuff you can't get if you don't actually have save the universe.

To be honest, I was waiting for a new artifact for healers (I didn't even use 1.6 mil exp from the reserves in case I liked the new artifact....).. but from a business point of view, a new DPS artifact is more logical, especially after everyone drained their NTH metal reserves into an omega artifact or whatever is in fashion now... it's high time to present a new OP artifact for DPS (well, the developers couldn't miss such a chance... so that everyone would rush to buy exp in the Market

And as for the event... I know, no one likes what I'm going to say... but you can simply not participate in it (earlier you could refer to Mepps, like he's standing with a gun to your temple... but Mepps is long gone.. .)...

I mean we don't HAVE to participate, but i want the game to better and fun. Not to bore me to death, or deplete my credit card.

Star Trek Online eventually became this with non-stop events and time-exclusive event rewards. Looks like they are keeping the same pattern with DCUO with a new event being launched every couple of weeks and rewards that tie into character progression. All the negative comments being offered in this thread about burnout are valid and repeat numerous forum threads I remember seeing about Star Trek Online. I used to play Star Trek Online myself and the non-stop event grinding made me feel apathetic about that game. All I was doing was grinding event after event for whatever the FOMO item was at the time. Eventually I just stopped caring and gave up on doing events altogether which eventually lead to quitting the game.

Having lived through all of that once, my advice is don't try to do all the events. Be picky about what you are willing to run. Keep an eye out for events that offer non-cosmetic rewards like special items or abilities.

thats how they used to do it in the past. the bonus would go live and then the new comntent with new artifacts would go on test a week or two later

They've been using Save the Universe format for non-STU events since mid 2024. Batman Day 2024, Wonder Woman Day 2024, iirc, a few other events that used to be giveaways turned into forced engagement. Didn't notice?

It's a place where people spent time testing artifacts to avoid leveling more than the bare minimum number of artifacts on live servers, and thus allowed them to minimize how much they play on live servers, and provide some internalized justification to complain about pay to progress as if it's the same thing as pay to win - despite the complete lack of an actual paywall that separates the two.

Yes obviously they do recycled content like STU but so far not the actual STU event for over a year which is my point. Do you like defending obviously poor choices in this game because why exactly? Just to be insufferable? Cool.

I mean I get having SOME running....that FOMO bar serves a purpose it gets us to log in when we might not have, but to turn what is basically a spotlight week into some 'gotta do it' event really doesn't. We'll be logging in every day for 21 days anyway with the new month, and likely St Pats will fall into a parallel event at some point further guaranteeing we'll be checking in. Is having everyone run around Dakota City for 5-6 min a day to do 2 year old dailies really that much a benefit to the game? Would a few weeks off in between events just make the population drop off THAT much? Wouldn't having better content people WANT tor run kind of do the same thing?
