new DLC format is epic fail

on I had mixed feelings about the new format went back and forth.

first I was was like that is cool maybe people will stick around since new stuff is being released faster.

. But each dlc/episode has less content so in turn off history repeats itself people will spam the content yet again and with less content get done even faster so they may not stick around.

them I though it would be cheaper to buy the dlc each month instead of buying legendary.

on they have same price as previous dlc but worth less content so is it really worth it doing it that way either.

my overall opinion is the old way was alot better even though still cheaper to buy the slc each month than it is for legendary

Such a jumbled post, and misinformed. It's the same amount of content as we're getting before. They're just releasing it in bits and pieces.

It actually makes more content meaningful. A lot of times players would rush to the raids of a DLC and only play the smaller content for the minimum runs needed for feats. In this way each piece of content gets the spotlight.

The old way was not better at all. Every single DLC released died before the next one was released. The worst DLCs were the likes of DLC8 and 9 which lasted less than a month before they became insufferable.

Episode 16 has been out for almost 2 weeks and I don't find the Alert or Solo insufferable yet. I expect Episode 17 news this coming week and launch within 3 weeks. Had this and Episode 15 been a full quarterly release, I'd probably have bailed by now, after completing a full set of gear within the first month and no reason to carry on playing after that.

For now, the game maintains my interest and full credit for that goes to the way content is being handled now.

what would be awesome is of we could get the monthly content and quarterly dlcs to boot.

i like the monthly format. makes everything feel more comic bookey~just like following a monthly comic now we get to play one.

i will say this go around was a little phoned in. not bad. the alert and solo are fun but could have used just a little more oomph. on the upside we're only a few weeks away from a new raid that comes with an elite version and a new duo as well.

the good thing about having everything all at once was that i had many options for what i wanted to run. now there's only 2 options per dlc

That's easily solved though. If you just wait for every third episode, it would be just like how the DLCs are, with you having 6 pieces of new content every 3 months.

LMAO you can tell it's a new player. This is how the game was marketed and released as ! We were supposed to pay a monthly subscription and get monthly, brand new content.

They are returning to their roots (and original promised plan). It is the best thing to (re-) happen to the game.

It might be, but doesnt feel like it, besides where are the sides missions, new open areas, new load screens, we Actually getting less, and for premiums is less content for more money

You forgot about the broken loot limiter we'll also be getting.

yeah..not playing the game so i can enjoy playing the game. what a solution

Formerly you would have to wait through two months of no content for a DLC to come out, so what exactly would be the problem?

The only difference I can see is that while you are able to play it like you used to, others who want to play a smaller amount each month can do so as well.

I am not so sure about the monthly release, so far I am restricted to replaying the alert and nothing else. I can't even play BP which is in the same tier but drops lesser rewards for the fear of resetting the loot counter.

I don't even help people with other content in the game for the same reason that it might reset my luck counter. The developers should reword the counter to work differently and it should instance led unlike what it is at the moment.

All this is simple hurting the game.

No different from when DLC12 launched. L&W or nothing. DLC9 - A&B or nothing. Heck, similarly, in DLC11, 13 and 14 launched, the only thing worth running was the raids, 2 maybe 3 instances which locked weekly.

I do get your point about the rare loot counter, but at the same time, it's written in white text on a dark blue background that the system doesn't even kick in until players go many runs without a reward. They said specifically that the rare loot counter will only benefit about 10% of the player base who go long stretches without seeing any rare rewards. So the chances are that you're not in that percentile and aren't getting any benefit from the feature. But the effect of seeing a rare drop makes you believe the system is working for you.

This is fundamentally the problem behind your argument. You're basing what you play on what drops you are chasing. This isn't a flaw in the design of releasing new content every month, but rather the fact that the developers insist on putting the best rewards in 1 instance which usually locks players out for 7 days. Your hand is forced to spend money replaying if you want to do anything meaningful to progress your character. Especially because of the rare loot counter.

None of these problems or gripes would exist if the best gear was in a vendor, open to everyone, not just the "elite".

Chances of them creating a rare loot counter for every instance is extremely small, too. The amount of data needed for it would be tremendous and unsustainable

actually maybe if u put the last 2 episodes together.. as in alert. duo. challenge. and new alert. but theirs not as many briefing collections.. no collections. and not as many investigations. and no daily missions.. so yes.. we are getting less.. id rather wait the 3 months or so for each dlc

they should of finished wol with Wol 3.. not this single on duty mission crap. as well as finishing amazon fury and hop

To me the old way was a bit better if you was premium it was a bit cheaper and made you more likely to want to but it. I do think the content will not match up since you have to release it faster so there maybe times there will be less. Also the content might at times be more buggy since there is less time to test it I believe. This way will also leave some content more relevant than others at time cause many to repeat something more. Its good to see these things but everything I've said is only speculation as well I have nothing to back it, but neither do anyone supporting this new format, only time will tell really. So in the mean time keep being above average your opinion matters.

The old way was cheaper for premium. 10$ for 3 months worth of content compared to 12$ for 3 months of content.
Also most DLCs in the past we got 7 or 8 pieces of content, while in the new 3 month setup we only get 6. However it is refreshing to see new content each and every month.

As for quality, well that seems to be a balancing issue.
