New body types and necropolis relics of the underground weapons

In the raid necropolis: relics of the underground, you can obtain weapons that will scale your character to a massive size, and I wondering if this same concept can be applied in order to make new body types for our characters.

No because it just stretches your current model. They probably could make a shape change trinket that does something similar.

And I think that would still be fine for some people, I feel as if this is the closest possibility that we can get towards having a new body type

It would only work in the specific DLCs that were designed to have it, because all of the environments have to be sized to allow for the larger characters. It's just like how you can play as Bane in the Legends PVE and PVP content, and those areas had to be designed to allow you to play as a character that size. So, it's doable, but only in limited areas of the game. You'll never see it available in every area of the game because there's too many areas where the characters would be too large for the environment.

Picking up those weapons charges your body type to brute for males and Mesa(?) for females, and increased your height to a size larger than "tall" (the sizes in character creation are heights, essentially short, average, and tall). The style system in game is able to scale between different character sizes since it's a uniform scaling, so no new styles needed to be made to account for these larger versions of existing body types. Brute and Mesa were chosen for thematic reasons, so it would technically be possible to allow new heights for existing body types.

However, there are unintended consequences to allowing other heights beyond the current 3 to be used anywhere. Character size is used for several things in game, can you get through somewhere, does something hit you, how far do you dodge, etc. If a character size is too large, it might not get through certain places, if it's too small it could possibly get somewhere it shouldn't be able to. You could be hit more frequently or less frequently than intended by certain attacks, so balancing boss fights becomes harder. For example, a larger character might get hit by multiple projectiles, while the current sizes only get hit by one, and a smaller size might not get hit by any (because they are small enough to fit between projectiles). Also, sizing aoe fields becomes problematic as a smaller size may need to roll 5 times in the same direction to exit from the center, while a larger one would only need to roll once. The instances with those weapons were specifically designed to allow those larger sizes in the areas they exist.

Admittedly, these are potential issues, but there is proof that the devs have concerns about this. The man-bat trinket used to make your character larger than the currently available tall, but a relatively recent update changed this so that the man-bat form was up the same height as your character.

Sssh, you're going to get the Toyman trinket nerfed, LOL.

I know this is a joke, but admittedly the smaller size is more likely to put you at a disadvantage. There aren't many bosses that shoot an array of projectiles, and even then those get father apart the father they are from the boss. So the only advantage would be that smaller characters could be closer to the boss and not get hit, otherwise you are mostly at a disadvantage (and possibly can't clear the gaps in shattered Gotham).
