So....... are you saying that each athlete should sown their own uniform?? So each hockey players should make their own equipment??? That somehow they should not use anything made by CCM or Bauer?? And in the DCU.... the JLA does have sponsors.... they had sponsors for years.... decades even. One of them sponsors being Wayne Enterprises. So.... what if JLA members have uniforms made by Wayne Enterprises?? Should Superman's costume always be made by Ma Kent?? Although not really an option now... she's dead. Should Alfred always be the one making Batman's costume??? Think of the poor sod..... he only has one hand left now. He cannot do that kind of work. So... what if there was a division of WayneTech designated to make costumes/equipment for JLA members??? Heck even in DCUO....... does your character makes his uniform???? or do you purchase equipment from Batgirl, Power Girl, Wonder Girl??? etc.....
i like the classic superman look better than the new 52 one. i think the red undies is more iconic and makes superman..superman
Truth of the matter is, the old style is going out. The new generation of people on this Earth are now the majority of who buy comics. The older generation of comic book readers are slowly either dying off, or feeling like they are too old to buy comics. I am somewhere in between these two generations. Even though I felt like there was nothing wrong with the underwear on the outside look, I feel it has had it's time, and change was long overdue. I personally prefer the costume Superman started off with in the New 52. Some of the old school folks preferred the new look. Unfortunately, DC could not make a continued comic featuring both generations of Superman, so the older generation Superman had to go. Out with the old, in with the new. Costume have been slowly changing since the very beginning, and even though I know some of you older people loved it as it was...you had to know, it was a matter of time before a change was made you were going to hate. Sounds like an MMO, doesn't it? We have all been there...and we will all be there again. Now it would seem nobody will be happy, since now Superman wears jeans and a T-shirt. So now, nobody is happy. See how that works? Always a change somebody isn't happy with, now we just have to live with it, while hoping it changes to something we like again.
Most of the new 52 I honestly don't like. They ruined Wonder Woman's story and honestly made it in someways anti Feminist and their portrayals of the Gods were messed up. Like how could they make Ares an ally of Wonder Woman?! You might as well do a Batman comic where Joker and Batman are friends. I hate how they did Lobo as one person mentioned. I did like how Barbara Gordon is Batgirl again because I never liked her as Oracle and felt that none of the other Batgirls could hold a candle to Barbara. I also like that Steve Trevor is back and is a possible love interest to Wonder Woman but that is probably the only thing I like about the Wonder Woman new 52 series. I loved that John Stewart was made into a Male Star Sapphire squashing fan ideas that the Star Sapphires are Female only. Over all it seems like the Lantern stuff is the only part of New 52 I am not upset with in some fashion.
That last part is the only thing that kept me reading DC after the relaunch. For the most part, everything felt pretty much familiar, including actually having the first issue of Green Lantern pick up right where the last series left off, almost as if nothing had happened. I just finally got tired of the seemingly endless stream of "event" crossovers.
The Lantern part of the DCU is what changed the less with the NU52...... that and Batman that is. So it was less affected by the NU52 then the rest of the DCU. Might be why it did not upset you so much. Although all that may change with the new Hobo Hal Jordan status quo after Convergence. Not sure how that will play out.
