hello everyone, hope you all having a good day. im abit of a new player i have about 200-250sp and 0 artifacts and i need some help in picking what troll to become a battery one a buff one or a battle troll and i have 0 clue on which one to pick ive watched ieddy videos on the setups but still stumped on which one to pick i cant decide im hoping some people here can steer me into the right direction so any advice on which one to pick and what arts and allies to pick and a loadout to use will be very much appricated and thank you
All Control powersets have the same tools and setup except for Light. Light doesn't have a detaunt shield but the other four powersets do. You want to start off with a battery build to get a feel for your power. You're going to need some more SP to pull off a buff or battle build. Loadouts are going to be the same: Damage Debuff | Defense Debuff | Healing Debuff | Group Power Heal/Weapon Buff | personal Shield | Power Heal Supercharge Artifacts are going to be Amulet of Rao, Parasite's Power Harness and Scrap of the Soul Cloak. There are a few Support Allies to choose from but these are the better options: Batman Who Laughs applies an additional defense debuff when you use your Finisher. If you pick this ally swap out your Heal Debuff or personal Shield for your Finisher. Death Metal Batman can drop a pool that restores power when you apply a debuff and restores power when you defeat an enemy. Cyborg for personal power regen.
thanks for your input , okay ill defo go battery troll with them artifacts and start building up to them allies gunna take some time to get them and get my sp up some more ,, at what sp do you recomend for buff troll and a battle troll so i can work my way up to them goals too if u have any idea about that
Buff troll requires you invest SP into Might/Power, Vitalization and Health. I think 340 SP would be a safe place to start. You'll drop Power Harness and Soul Cloak for Claw of Aelkhund (mandatory for buff) and Tetrahedron or Cog for additional damage buff. The higher your health the higher the buffs from Tetrahedron and Cog. Battle troll is essentially being a DPS in troll role. You'll drop your Heal Debuff and Shield for damage abilities. You'll want to max out your Damage Crits, Power Heal Crits, Might/Power stat and have at least 100 points in Vitalization. You can run buff artifacts or DPS artifacts. Battle troll is situational. Amulet of Rao is mandatory for all of these builds. And I forgot to add that investing SP in Might/Power is more important than Vitalization for a battery build. You never want to run out of power as a troll.

hey thelorax , i was wondering if the battery troll advice you provided still the way to go i no they added a new troll artifact so not sure if anything changed since then thanks
The new troll artifact is for battle troll, I don't know how viable it is. Nothing has changed for battery troll to my knowledge.
A few items I saw from others and I’ll provided some alternative information. I have a buff troll with almost no might/power but max health and vit for buffs. You can get away with this if you are using the right troll arts/allies. This maximizes you buff potential but you have to learn how to use your SC and soder effectively. Second, almost all troll have the same loadout. Gadgets and mental can take advantage of another bar due to stealth/invisibility. No going to rehash light difference. One last thing is quantum is the only power that can use full troll gear and use the primary debuffs at will without messing up cc (one of the less important debuffs will cc adds, but it is rarely needed). Other powers either have to time debuffs, use the bop artifact, jack up cc, or don’t wear troll gear to lower dom.
