Necks and possibly rings in the vault are not determined by role you go in.

I'm lifetime so my perks were transferred just like you. You can be pissed all you want but I still think that you would have a better chance of getting a decent ring running the vault once a day then waiting around for a box to drop and then getting a soda instead. At least that is my opinion and experience. Disagree all you want, no skin off my nose.

I hope this isn't reviving an old thread. I just found this after considering using my loyalty points to buy vault tickets. I've only been legendary for 1 month and currently have 1000 loyalty points. Approximately 1 weeks after the update, the first piece of jewelry I got from the vault was a 70 perfect healer ring (Medi'c Vanadium Ring) to replace my 62 Medic's Band. Before that the only jewelry I'd gotten from boxes before the upfate was a 78 dps neck with a healer affinity. I'm a cr78 healer and my only alt is a cr49 healer. I still need another ring to replace my other Medic's Band. A healer neck better than Spirit Healer Necklace would be nice, too. I thought I'd spend my loyalty points on vault tickets since nothing else in the market really appeals to me. I already paid real $ for dlc1-6 during a 50% sale long before sub'ing.

My advice? Never, ever, ever...ever buy vault tickets. You simply can't farm the vault. It's far too random. It's like buying 100 lottery tickets versus one. Your probability of hitting the big one only increases slightly, despite the 100 fold increase in chances you've given yourself. Your points (or money) are better spent elsewhere, unless you just can't come up with anything else to spend them on.

NOT TRUE MEPPS, i have gotten 2 healers rings in the past and i am a controller, both time i got the healer rings one was with a resto affinity they were from the lockboxes. I am a controller and i know more than 1 non controller who swears they have received controller rings with VIT affinity in them SO SORRY BUT YOU ARE WRONG SO PLEASE STOP GIVING US WRONG INFO. I am a controller who has gotten controller rings but NEVER EVER gotten one with VIT affinity if i am supposed to get only controller or dps rings then out of the 30 rings i have gotten why hasn't one been a VIT affinity ring?? its because your INFO is WRONG yes i do understand that its a luck/probability thing but my chances decrease when i am receiving freaking healer rings and other worthless rings i cant use

A tank may not receive the healer rings but i know for a fact the controllers are getting healer rings, i do not care what you want to say because i have received 2 healer rings myself

I am glad people are spending money on 80 vault tickets a day. More money for the game and only helps us out (I am legendary).

Mepps, you are either being given the wrong info or you are just out of touch with the jewelery drops in general. Sorry bud. My main toon is a troller, I have received enough tank and healer jewelery on him that it prompted me to make a a tank and a healer toon. I understand you guys like the whole carrot on a stick method for handling drops, my advice would be to shorten the stick.

Devs have no idea how the system work lol (not surprised at all), there are no gold rings for role specific, a player can wear any vit/resto/dom/prec/might rings because are not role specific, main reason i get as controller a tank ring, as healer a controller ring.

About necks not sure, but iirc necks were the same, anyone in game can confirm if any of the necks were like rings? not role specific?

I've learned to take what the devs say with a grain a salt.

Finally got a resto ring with Vit affinity for my ice dps. Good thing the Jewelery now drops for our roles!

+1. They are so focused on keeping us farming for and chasing after rare drops that they fail to see the possibility that we would play (and pay) even more, and more happily, if we could get the items to boost our roles a little faster.

This is where I'm confused. Neither the rings or the necks are "role-specific", so technically any one role can wear them. The only thing specific are the stats and affinities, and that's where the issue for most people comes to play. So I as a controller can still get a neck with tank stats and a healer affinity, which really does me little good. That's the current complaint right now.

I think they mean for your power type role, meaning if you have controller power type, it drops troller items
of healing power type, it drops healer items

From the sounds of it, as long as you can equip it, it is fair game.

That's why I got a Healers Pendant of Relief.... with a tank affinity. I can sure wear it.. but it is useless.

The lockbox rings and necks have always been unrestricted, just like dps gear. I just now had a suspicion: The dev's notes says the drops will be based on role and cr ... Could it be that a player's chance of getting role-based drops decreases as their cr increases?

This is my thinking. as well. That way, they can say it's dependent on your role, even though no healer in their right mind would purposely choose to wear a vit ring with a power affinity or something like that. Because they can all be modded, you can put whatever you want in it, even though the base stats and affinities don't fit with your role. Whatever.

Devs, for the record, I would buy 50 vault tickets if I knew that when gold rings and necks dropped, they suited my role. This backwards system is a deterrent to buying vault tickets.

Have you played this game and opened lockboxes? It took me 6 months to get 1 controller ring and the common advice from people in game is something like, "If you want a controller ring, make a healer and get it up to 70cr."

I finally got one. A 46 neck with Tank affinity on my Quantum Archer... On top of that, the stats (with the exception of an extra 5 precision) are much worse than the level 30 pvp neck
