it seems they enjoy pushing materials idk. ive absolutely never been a fan of looking like a walking traffic light  but to each their own. serious question tho, i left after black neon (my last material) how many have they shoved out since then, & how many have been chroma. idk why chroma seems to be the only thing anymore.

Edit: some ppl make them work tho. shoutout to Craven.

Don't you know? Daybreak has a million "Mepps" clones, and if you just think about leaving the game, one of them will come to you and put a gun to your head and make you play DCUO :p

Why Chromas??? Because they don't have the tech necessary to allow us to put materials on the color channel we choose. Regular materials cover the entire style piece. It works with some styles, but not so much with others. Chromas give us some measure of options, like the neons or color tintable ones. Chromas are far superior to the one color block materials.

mostly referring to the overabundance of chromas that currently exist now, materials in general have become overdone like auras, im mainly saying "whens the next big thing coming? are materials the only thing left to make?" remember when that 1st accessory dropped & everyone swarmed to it because it was new. im sure theres more unique things yet to be made. also whats up, i remember u from when i used to be around. :)

They were putting out a steady amount of movement skins, which are still broken on Speedsters. Battle-reactive styles and auras which sound cool on paper but are easily missed when you're fighting. Then they jumped into accessories and recently was talk about looking into wearing more than one accessory. *yawn*

Yeah there's not much that I can think of short of gear/weapons that have crazy cool looking FX outside of combat and new emote/personality packs.

I'm not who you asked, but I haven't logged into the game since January. (Before that I did 3 weeks of Halloween, and hadn't played in a year before that.)
Mostly, I'm here for the funny pictures in the Jokers forum. And to complain about the hawk wings on female sprites.

I wouldn't say DCUO is much different in terms of aesthetics than any other MMO, I've seen.

People always want to look cool no matter what game they're playing and no matter how casual or elite they are.

This insinuation that serious players don't actually care about cosmetics is entirely disingenuous.

If you think serious players aren't farming capsules for styles or getting all the styles they can you'd be wrong, they might care about stats etc more, but that doesn't mean they're just running around in slimline styles and default character creater blue.

Iv been calling dcuo out for a longtime it all started with stats revamp and the direction of stats don't matter. That can all chnage with a gear buff and a new skill point tree revanp/buff. then a revamp to weapons and powers to bring that life back to dcuo it had before it destroyed itself with stats revamp. The reason I haven't left yet is I have high hopes that this game can bring back the pvp it once had and the pve. Iv been saying alot about how much I hate the game and this will be my last year supporting dcuo. Iv been saying that this is dcuo last year its time is now. We waited 3 years too long for stats matter and pvp 3 years too long for powers and weapons to be as good as they once were. We have waited 3 years too long to see only a little balance done here and there. I understand why it's a fashion show the game has so much work to be done on the inside its easier to work on its outside. With that said dcuo getting a big upgrade and I want to see where that takes us. They said before that upgrade happens they will be doing alot of things. I want to give dcuo til the end of the year it has way too much potential to delete it. But I can't support a game that won't support its other game modes any longer. I do play other games Iv been playing twelve sky 1 for 5 years it shutdown I moved to twelve sky 2 been playing that 5 years off and on. I'm also getting ready for some of these big mmos coming out in April. If paragon comes back on the 26th of April dcuo play time will be very limited. Because limited is what we been getting from dcuo

They've made it abundantly clear PvP is not at the top of any list of things to fix. But by all means continue to beat that dead horse. Wanna borrow my tire iron? ;)

they should develop a runway base item where you can save a dozen or so different builds from different characters and then when you interact with it starts a fashion show with lights and music and each style walking down the catwalk.

    bigger one for league halls.

I think you are saying you want more/different content.

Are styles actually this disturbing to you, even knowing they're not anywhere close to "80%" of the work going on here? Or are styles just a useful target for blame?

actually i was joking but the more i think about it the more i would love a runway base item.

styles are only important to me as long as theyre something i can use for my characters.

this means I would prefer more generic styles I can mix and match than iconic looks but I'm also not discounting the latter either.

more/different content is always > than any style.

I was going to reply saying something similar but Mepps beat me.

This is really a complaint about not having the type of content that interests you. Ask for that. Be specific.

Putting aside the fact that monetizing cosmetic items is the exact right thing the devs should be doing (also putting aside *how* they are doing this for another discussion) to generate revenue in this genre of game, and it's the industry standard; complaining that the devs are also producing another type of content that other players worked (by pushing the Devs) for years to get isn't going to go well. You're basically saying "stop making stuff for them, and make it for me instead." The opposite of constructive.

It's not a binary decision. We can have both. Players who enjoy styles should keep getting great styles and everyone else is free to speak up and voice their support for other forms of content too and the Dev team will take it from there.

Yeah, he's pretty much going "What?! You're not specifically and only making what *I* want! How dare?! No one else matters! Cater to ME!"

I'll take the fashion show. Let's just hang out in the Watchtower and HoD (don't people already do this), but get 6 full gear sets per Episode.

I think alot of us just want more content in the game/episodes and i do think the frequency of materials and styles should be base items auras etc decreased but only if this would help to give us more and better longevity endgame content (episodes) with higher replaybility so we dont get bored 1 month into a episode if i could give a guess id assume around 40% of the work goes into Styles/auras/materials/base items and other things similar to this.

But in general i think you guys need to have a talk with dimension ink or eg7 to hire more devs and a larger budget for episodes in general they feel empty and not much content in them i know plenty that would come back to DC but they feel underwhelmed by the episodes. Considering the revenue dcuo makes i would expect to see larger episodes with more content since this is the core of the game imo. (No offense just trying to help)
  18. Apollonia Dedicated Player

    Not even 40%.

0% of the work of the missions and levels people is used for making styles. The people who make the missions and levels etc are not the same people who make the styles and gear.

I know that megzilla doesnt help with the raid content shes doing the styles but in general the overall things we get seem to be 40% fashion/base item related stuff again its not that bad but episodes and content in general lacks behind and they either need to up the devs and budget or cut down on this fashion stuff thats how i see it especially since episodes cost money and most people dont even care about most of the styles but episodes get bought especially if its a good episode with much content.

And again i stand by this opinion that considering the revenue dcuo makes the episodes are definetly underwhelming content wise and i think this needs to be sorted out and adjusted accordingly (more devs etc)
