    How many of these "whales" do you really think there are in this tiny little player base?

    Of those, how many do you think actually stick around for long with all the ENG going on?

    It's hilarious when I see people try and use "whales" as an excuse for anything. This isn't Wow. There's no one new coming in to replace any "whales" that leave. And like any other type of player, I guarantee "whales" are all but gone around here.

    I fully understand that argument and agree that the OP collection pieces are bit more of a grind than they should be. It definitely feels more like a punishment than a reward to have to grind that many marks to get them. I think a more effective way to do it would have been to not make them available to buy until after the actual style feat is done and then make the collection cost no more than the weapon (200 marks).

    It's the same for every game, that's why they go into making more and more microtransactions. You are coming from your logic, I am coming from mine.

    We both have zero statistics to back up our claim, however there are two differences in my argument.

    In my argument, it's been proven that whales are what keep up online games now. It's been unanimously proven, and the fact that they are going full steam ahead with these microtransactions proves that as well.

    Second, the TCs have had how many iterations now? 5? I ask cause honestly I've lost track. Point I'm making there is that they've had plenty of time to look around and rectify the course. They don't, why is that? Is it because they are incompetent and hate money? Or could it be that this strategy just works for them?

    My position takes far less reaching to make sense and actually draws on facts rather than emotion. I'm sorry that that's an unpopular opinion around here, my facts don't care about your emotions. All of the hatred in the world isn't going to make TCs go away. With all of the ppl quitting from here, they're not blind, they just don't care. Why could that be? Because more and more ppl are coming in. They aren't vets and they haven't made end game, but there definitely are more newbies running around.

    I still know a couple of people that spend incredible amounts of money. I'm talking about people that have now paid for over 10k stabilisers. I'm talking about people that have an insane amount of digits to their Replay Badge total. I'm talking about people that will open a couple hundred of Booster Bundles if they were to drop another. Whales still exist and still spend a lot of money on the game. You did say a bit of truth though. The whales that have already left or when the ones that are still playing leave, they won't be replaced.

    Perhaps a related question (in mind with the vendor costs) but will we see Episode 29 this year? I know you said yes to me on 28/4 Ask DCUO on Discord but just wanted to ask again in case anything has changed.

    A full set of gear (ex. Op crap) needs to be attainable in 3 weeks minimum with the length of this content. Here's why:

    1. Many players start when content is released so they start at the very beginning to collect marks. This is always gonna happen.

    2. New players/returning players starting this content a few months in are behind the times, if they need 8 months to complete stuff then they should just hit 'close app' and find another game. They need adequate time (few weeks) to get a role so they can catch up in a relative short time (same time as #1).

    3. Not everyone can play everyday. I mean really? You think everyone works at a job 7 days a week? This game is for fun and should not require an overtime job type style of gameplay for these vendor prices.

    4. Both roles not needed? Well with what the prices are, we might as well as say **** our second role, our alts, and mods. That's my next point.

    5. Mods: wtf!?

    6. Mods continued: way too much crap for no gain. Recovery kits are just a dick slap to our face. A few bytes and that's all. Our inventory can't stack properly, mats untradeable, too much excess dlc specific crap as well.

    7. Op items are just ruined if you just keep throwing them at us. And of course there's more as that guy said on the stream...

    8. Did I mention that you need to make the gear obtainable in about 3 weeks time per role so we can actually play the game? If not got back to top and start over.

    Hmmm I'm not sure what you have to review but for me the question is simple, keep those prices as they are and risk loosing more members or , lower them by at least 35% and for sure keep the members dcuo has and attract more. Because of course keeping those prices won't bring more members back.

    What you really need to look at is if the amount of time needed to collect everything from the vendor matches the amount of time people will enjoy the DLC for. Sadly, this DLC will not keep people entertained for more than 7 months, and so the vendor should not take 7 months to empty out. You could get away with adding one month's cost to the length of entertainment as players will be so close to the rewards that they may stick around through a month of no-longer-entertaining gameplay to get them. That being said, this DLC will also not be enjoyable for as long as 6 months. Hopefully your discussions will lead to successful results and changes.

    I have a feeling the prices won't change but they'll pull out a nice long post tomorrow showing off the new stuff in the new time capsule to try and get people to talk about something else.

    So with these prices how do you expect us to buy gear for our other role?? Or did you guys just not consider that, progression, fun factor and all the other stuff this dlc lacks......?

    Not trying to be rude but these things need to be pointed out. I'm not trolling or anything like you or a mod may say i'm just concerned with the direction the game keeps heading and its not to a good place....as if i needed to point that out.

    THIS is SPOT ON! i agree 1000%. Support roles + DPS roles + ALTS + feats + Work life + real life is wayyyy too much. All of this should be considered when making/pricing content.. all youre going to do is have players SKIP on irrelevant content. Devs work hard at making content, that players shouldnt have to SKIP certain missions to gear up.

    MILD SOLUTION: just massively increase the amount of marks given for the solos, if you REALLY concerned about REPLAYS :rolleyes:

    1.If content was DIFFICULTY DRIVEN(which would hurt replay sales), THEN you could justfy HIGH PRICE changes as the difficulty would encourage players to beat it, especially if feats are STRATEGICALLY placed on variety of ways of beating the mission. But the fact that content is TOO EASY, it creates BOREDOM, plus MOST mechanics are becoming too stale/predictable per release.

    2. But, we Need more MECHANICS like BRAINIAC in PRIME BATTLEGROUND back, HAL jordan and blue lantern MECHANICS in A&B, EPIC wavedox CONTENT, even LAW last boss fight was EPIC mechanic with vexer, wonder woman and carol ferris. Would be nice to have 4-6 big boss battles instead of the same 3 PREDICTABLE boss setups.. Or bring back the 1 MEGABOSS raid like prime battleground..

    3. OP items should be RELEVANT/usable(COMPETITIVE STATS) every 6 months. Meaning new op items should be RELEASED every 6 months, giving players enough TIME to get them as well as, use them for the long duration of a 6month period..

    I've always wanted them to change up the boss amount. I think this is the perfect time to do it with the best gear being in the vendor and not as drops. For example, they could still give us the same amount of marks but attach it to just the first, third and final boss in a 5 boss raid. Or using the 5 boss raid example, they could just attach 2 marks to every boss. It's still the same amount but spread across more bosses. Having more bosses in raids will make them feel much more special and enjoyable, especially if they're challenging in the Elite version and have some interesting mechanics.
