They do affect game play...I'm in prime controller goes down...I'm currently a DPS...bam I'm now a controller...JUST LIKE THAT.....

We don't wipe due to my ability to take the stance, power the group and help them achieve it...just like that...

Prior to armories we had no way to really change stance during a fight, now we do...Brillant idea.....love it...I have 2 armory for each toon and have 3 unused as I'm trying to buidl up my PVP gear before going that route...but I hear that is broken...pretty bad too...

R&D came out as a GU when the perks for Legendary were: Access to all DLCs, Unlimited Cash, Early Access, 16 Character Slots, 20 Broker Slots, and increased Bank/Inventory slots. It was designed to make subscriptions look attractive, granted I was subscribing before that GU. People complained about there being a paywall on day 1 of the GU. SOE has to make money from their games to pay for: staff, utilities, building expenses, equipment upgrades, and any other operating expenses.

Honestly, people claim they love this game, but do the minimum to support it and some don't do anything to support it at all. Subscribers support this game far more than F2P and Premium does, the proof is in the fact that PS4 had generated 2x more revenue than the PS3 did in April; sadly the PS4 community was smaller and had more subscribers than the PS3 community. To get the most from this game, you have to pay. F2P is an awesome demo, Premium lets you get what you want, and Legendary gives you full access without limits.

People claim Premium can support this game, but they can't and they know it. I have numbers to prove it:

    11 DLCs * 9.99 USD = 109.89 USD
    44 Mos * 9.99/14.99 USD = 439.56/659.56 USD

At a minimum, subscribers spent 4x more money than the Premium players and 439.56 USD than F2P. So, to say Premium pays for this game is a lie. They need subscribers to keep this game alive and innovate as well. If people kept subscribing then they could put in more servers to reduce a majority of the lag issues. They could also hire more devs to put more cool stuff in this game faster than they are atm. There would be less need for hotfixes as well, seeing that there would be more fresh eyes to check things before going live. Seriously people, think about the overall picture here.

You are forgetting micro transactions there little guy.
Your numbers are based upon a player who has played for 44 months.... 3 and a half years. How many legendary members have been paying for 3.5 years straight? How many players actually even played for 3.5 year straight?. You are twisting numbers to help your argument. Which is a NoNo in any argument :p
How about a player who has played for 4? 40/60.
IIRC Legendary pays to keep the server up, and micro transactions provides for new content [might be wrong]

I left micro transactions out of the equation, due to the fact that both Legendary and Premium buy things from the MP fairly consistently.

There are quite a few people that have been Legendary since day 1 on the USPS server.

Anybody that's been Legendary at least 1 year has spent more money than Premiums spend on DLCs alone. Micro transactions could be a difference though. Legendary players tend to buy a lot of replay badges ftom the MP as well as respec tokens for feats or to try new powers on their main.

Your numbers do not do anything due to neither of us know the true numbers of who spends more or how much they spend. You are basing off your argument that "premiums do not support the game nearly as much as legendary" members off assumptions. You are forgetting that DLC's are not the only thing legendary gives. Premiums are "required" to spend money on items such as base items, kits, escrow tokens due to them not having full access to their money or not being able to use the broker effectively.
I believe you put in the whole 500 SC every month in their.
You saying premiums don't do much for the game is based of assumptions that premiums and legendary spend nothing else on MP.
Unless you have the actual numbers don't post such absurd things.

I was a F2P player when I start playing this....and to tell the truth I dont have any problem with the cash cap, heck I genuinely thought that was the cash cap for the game till I saw the Items that sold in the broker.
  7. Yui Loyal Player

The reason why he left the microtransactions out of the equation is because this variable isn't constant. We don't know how much each player has spent on the marketplace.

But based on the calculations that he's done, which I've also done a few pages ago, he's right about what he said. Premium players can't support this game alone if we base it on memberships and DLCs purchased.

It would make sense if we just base it on membership and on DLC's however it is not the case.

    Here's an idea:

Sell an upgrade for 1000 station cash that raises your escrow limit by 10000.
Include one of those in a DLC bundle. Maybe bundle DLC 5-8 with it for $30.

Allow them to stack so if you feel the need to buy and sell things for 20000 you can spend more station cash to be able to do it. This way premium players who've paid a fair price for the game lose much of the annoyance and DCU can sell more things in the marketplace.
