Not a fan of Lobo but the style is SICK. I can see me using a few pieces on my Black Canary and Punk Storm inspired characters.

In some interviews they mention that it is a parody.
In others they mention that it is an homage.

Hard to know for sure which it is at this point.

On a side note... I met Kevin Eastman and his wife at the time Julie Strain. Very nice people.
I worked on the Heavy Metal 2000 film and they came to the studio for a recording session....
but took some time to come meet the team/people working on the film.

They did not have to do that...... but they did which was kind of nice of them.
On most animated projects... we never get to meet the creators of the project.
So meeting the creator and the main star of the film was a nice touch.

Maybe I should have asked him wayyyy back when if the TNMT were a parody or an homage??

The original version is beyond corny. Ewww, but no thanks. The style we're getting is awesome. The end.

No, Bourne4red made me reconsider my position (I never did read the wonderful Usagi Yojimbo or Critters. I got my Sakai fix from Groo and his delicious cheese dip. ...I did read Jeff Smith's 'Bone').
I don't think you can really call something "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" without it being a parody. I think it was both a parody and an homage.
Whereas with Giffen I think it was more of "Really? That's what you like? ...Okay. Here's a big fat heaping shovel of it and plenty of", with Eastman and Laird it was more of "We love this, and we're going to do something like this, but put our own fun spin on it".

I'm so glad we finally got a lobo style. But I feel like this is another missed opportunity for weapon and base styles. It would have been great if a space hog base item or hook weapon styles was released too. Hopefully for future styles we can get accessories too.

Like if we hypothetically have a steel style coming maybe you could put in a request for steels hammer and a steel works vase item too.

Whilst we all revel in Biz’s glory (and well deserved it is) I want to draw attention to the late, great kiwi Martin Emond who did such beautiful work on several Lobo one-shots and that great White Trash m/s...
