LIke Batman? DCUO is the game for you! If not, reconsider

This game is HEAVILY focused on BATMAN content and it's apparent. This may be the game for you if you are into that. If you aren't, well...maybe you will like the game when they promote new movies (Shazam!) Anyhow, when your Creative Director openly promotes how much she likes Batman, well, your content is gonna be limited to the latest BATMAN content.

Seriously, can we just call this game "Batman Universe" already?

It's easy to see it that way, I won't deny that. But then more than a few players were saying how the game was becoming "Lantern Universe Online" during the release of the first two parts of War of the Light.

When you look at the last three episodes before JLD, we've either been underwater, dealing with those who live underwater or hanging out on Titans Island. Plus there's all the activity in Doomed Metropolis. It's easy to argue that you have to go to Riddled with Crime for the last batch of Batman-centric content (Earth 3 seemed a little more Justice League focused rather than concentrating on one character). Having some TCs focused on Batman-related gear (Beyond, Red Death and Drowned suits) doesn't help matters, but in terms of actual content it's been a while since something Batman-centric came along.

Batman is a very popular and integral part of the DC universe and the Metal storyline resonated with a lot of fans, so even setting aside NerdofPrey's preferences, we were gonna see some more Bat-stuff sooner rather than later.

Until another franchise gets another legends character as pointless and obscure as Amon Sur, I don’t wanna hear it.

Earth 3, Deluge, Death of Superman, Teen Titans, Atlantis, Justice League Dark... We get a batman episode for the first time since Riddled with Crime which was around 2 years ago and you call that Batman Universe Online?

No. This is the game that DOESN'T focus on Batman, unlike every other single DC game out there. That said, yes, there's plenty of Bat-content in this game if you are sick of Batman. But there's also plenty that's not Batman.

I've had my fill of Batman and would be happy to never see any Batman content in any medium ever again, but saying that THIS game is Batman-centric is false.

My only real complaint with Metal is that they've put two DLCs back-to-back focusing on a storyline that I really hated in the comics. So I'm stuck with 10 months of more of content based on a story I didn't enjoy in the slightest. If they'd split it up, I would have been fine, since there would have been something to interest me between them. Instead... well. You've heard my complaints, I should probably just shut up and let the people who enjoyed Metal enjoy the next 10 months.

Why did you hate it? I’m curious

If anybody needs a thread translation: Everytime a storyline comes along that doesn't personally cater to ME ME MEEEE it is "whatever I don't want" Universe Online.

While not my favorite he has always been among my favorites. Quite the complex and versatile character - maybe out of both DC and Marvel universes.

I'm ok with the upcoming DLCs featuring him or his themes.

Maybe with the GL movie coming out in 2020 (I hope) we can get more Green Lantern themed DLCs next year.

It seems to me that they rarely actually show case the mentors anymore tbh - every magic DLC barely has WW, even Gotham seems to have no Batman lately

I'd be happy with DLCs that actually focus on the 6 mentors lol

Oh no! Not Batman Universe... dcuo is not just about Batman. Other comic centered storylines feature "Sons of Trigon", "Blackest Night", "Amazon Fury", "Halls of Power", "Bombshells Paradox", "Bottle City of Kandor", "Harley Quinn" and "Earth 3" “Aquman dlc” and “Justice league dark”

The Nolan movies renewed my interest in him and dcuo that’s it.

It's very easy to look at the "now" and forget the bigger picture, and no one's immune. I know I've had moments where I don't step back and look at everything because what's in front of me is more fresh in my memory. So I try not to be too hard on folks when they do it.

Doesn't mean I'm not willing to provide a reminder now and again, though.

Ever since monthly content I feel like most stories have felt thrown together and there haven't really been a good ending/finale to the storyline in the episodes. Maybe with Metal being spread across 2 episodes in a row, the storyline could be meatier and have more of a finale-feeling. Atleast I hope so.

Somebody has to.
