More Noob Questions after playing this morning:

Q: Is it too soon to get Iconic Powers?
Q: I got Resurge which gives power to allies -- I don't think it's a power I'm going to use 'right now' as a DPS, so it is wise to respec to grab something more ideal for 2nd tier leveling (11-20) or just bite the bullet and hold onto it?

The basic dps combos only cost 7pts in Assault tree, so you have 8 pts left to spend anywhere you want. This is want differentiates hl players to other hl players, at least somewhat. Once you have all the skills you need in the assault tree or if you are unable to go any further down the tree I would spend some on Iconic Powers, like the robot sidekick for example, of course this is all imo. They also have some great passives in the Iconic Power tree.

If you are able to keep your hit counter up then its okay to keep it and use it for its buff. If you really do not like it or have something better to put it in and do not mind spending 500 in game currency then you can do that too.

Again this is all in my opinion as I'm currently leveling 4 different hl characters right now.

For HL DPS, I prefer rifle because of the added grenade launcher (tap triangle) when clipping combos... Brawling makes a great choice too because of its low tiers for power regen. Of course, that's just a preference, not a rule or anything.

I put points in Rifle, Brawling and Martial Arts at the moment. Q: How far down the 'tree' for skills should one go? I've been in brawling so I'm used to it, and heard MA was good with smoke bomb, but I don't want to split too many of my points and not get the good stuff from a skill set, if that makes sense.

So I'm in the lower 20s and I've committed mainly to the brawling tree because of the power regen, however, I don't think Im doing something right, because my power doesn't regen nearly as fast as I 'think' it should. Once I do the combo, I resort to brawling, which Im pretty sure isn't correct...

If you are looking for regen your constructs act as the weapon.
