sometime before city of hero die (you know, DC universe is a CoH but using Dc copright) they have put the recolour on all power set, it was amazing, you can change the colour of you buffs, hope they bring it to dc universe too

The Star Sapphires can always be cleaned up and with a new different power source in their battery but safer. As for a parasitic crystal chamber that forces a personality shift? That's the best part changing people, now if only their brain washing can be used in a better way for the greater good.
