Light color change

Ok...I wait for star sapphire power since they released light(I understood that you won't do it)so my idea is make a re-color of light powers they will cost 1000 DB like other powers and when you purcase it you can chose from different colors(only lantern)and this is another way to bring more players back into the game...please do it!!!

I guess there would be problems with copyright stuff. Like certain constructs in other colors like green/yellow

I doubt it, you can already do this with entire spectrum on Injustice 2.
Maybe something they can't do on DCUO for reasons but I dont think this is it

On a side note, I'd pay $5 to unlock a color change. Hell...I'd buy them all (minus pink)
and I'd bet A LOT of people would too.

Also i think there would be problems with the lore. Always has been a big argument with these things

Why limit this to just the lantern powers? If I were still sorcery, I'd so love to have more manly colors. Pinks nice and all, but I'd rather see other colors.

Sure you'll get the "Indigo uses staff" or "Sapphires are mostly women" or "only 1 Avaraice"
The truth is every lore has had an exception, so I can't fully take that reasoning.

Now maybe DCUO isn't allowed, then sure. I also know how many cheap money grabs they've done
(see time capsules w/ feats and others) but this wouls likely be a HUGE selling item.

I mean for 5 bucks or something it would be worth.. or even 10-20 bucks for a permanent tool/option to change the color. I agree on that part. Also I don't disagree on the entire thing. Just the problems with it. Those things come up on a regular basis here. More before the revamp though.
...I might hate all those neon-pink / neon-white animations as a tank. Some ingame animations are just totally annoying and horrible as tank like the Zeus-Orbital, some Quantum and Atomic stuff, etc. (yes i know.. change settings.. don't care).

If they were allowed to do it they would do it for the money.. still.

That was 5 years ago dude. And it only took a few months to get dc to approve it.

Well water could be used as a blue lantern when it goes live.

However I like the idea of having different colors for the Lanterns; to echo another statement, color changes on most powers would be a nice touch and something I would pay for (when I end up playing other powers - still new and have only played Light and Rage). Or at least allow a few options. I can understand Ice being blue, white and even black; etc. I am sure there must be a reason for a game with so much customization to not allow such a thing by now.
Does anyone know how difficult it would be to implement a change in power color? I know nothing about programming or game design.

Just keep the green color for light on the heroes and yellow on the villains.

And what's wrong with pink and love?! Enemies of love will submit. Yield to the power of love! So said the Star Sapphires.

Finally another person who understand love that the Star Sapphire's bring. I just wish people would understand that love is a holy commitment and no turn coats, now days folks dont care about it. My in game character wears her Star Sapphire outfit proudly all the time.

Even before then was the green Aura, heck know we have every emblem and a few styles specific to lanterns.

well if you want lantern sets to be able to be colored, write a nice long letter to DC (not DCUO) bt DC themselves, explaining why you think we should be able to color the powers of the lantern rings.

It's not DCUO that doesn't want it, Its DC themselves.

The lantern Corps are the single most copy right protected DC content that exists. They don't like anyone messing with it.


can it happen? Sure. Will it? Most likely not.

Do i want it? Hell yeah, but i understand how copyright works.

And as I have said 100x over, I don't think they will either.
My initial response was that other DC branded games do allow it. So not really sure if the whole copyright is as viable as before.

Since Injustice 2 could do it, I dont know why it wouldn't be allowed, but I still dont think DCUO would/could do it.

i think it has to do with injustice being a Warner Bros. Game.

They own the rights to DC, they can do pretty much whatever they want.
