Let's talk about....the new on duty menu.

I like the idea… but it is absolutely awful to navigate on a controller. Console players will get very confused with this - as I’ve seen many times now.

Id recommend make selecting your run, queuing, de-queuing, etc. simply
button presses and not double selecting with X and navigating around the screen.

Example: If you are group lead - you want to select a singular raid:
You can hover over the raid and press R1 to immediately queue and ready up -
Other players simply need to open the On-Duty and press R1 to ready up

If I press right once, it takes it to the loot lock section of the screen which I don’t really need to select - if this is simply for the loot-locking section, could this not be a button press as to remove this unnecessary selection from the menu and instead I can press Triangle for loot-unlocking? I would much rather it go over to the “selected run” section directly than first over the description/loot locking menu - speaking of, could this have a toggle as to whether or not it saves the selected run so it doesn’t show up unless selected again? Feels unnecessary to have to clear all every time.

It feels like it’s made for MKB and ported over, if this is the case - perhaps the right analog stick could function like a mouse similarly to Overwatch or COD?

Speaking of GUI changes, are there any plans in the future to change the Artifacts/Augments to be similar to Allies with their own dedicated menu?

edit: I saw someone mention about highlighting in Orange… I agree with this! Contrasting would help :)

Most of you have already covered the technical part of the new UI. So, I am not going to touch that.

This new UI is one of the worst designs I have ever seen for a UI in 2022. Poor choice of placements, poor choice of colour combination and font sizes. It is not at all aesthetically pleasing. I formed a raid group last night, didn't remember about the new UI until I queued for it. Couldn't have closed that faster. Horrible to look at. Sorry if I am being harsh but that is how I feel about the new UI. :(

I was going to run the seasonal a few times this morning to stock up on spooky bites and some base items.

    Can't reset the instance.

    Controller jumps around, lags.

It does let me select the instance as a favorite.

    Turned the game off.

things i don't like about new UI.

    1) if someone declines an instance, i need to go back to UI and re-que. Old UI do it automatic.

    2) new UI don't allow me to que omnibus with other instance.

    3) que all instance in the same tier can be done but is more confuse to do than old UI

    4) if i que omnibus and want to cancel it, i need to remove all instance that auto setup by omnibus

    5) image of DLC instance is too big and please add image for old dlc/episode instance
  7. SethZoulMonEl 10000 Post Club

Wait, someone timing out or declining doesn't reset the queue anymore? Wow...
  8. Pale Rage Dedicated Player

*It moves smooth, the first time opening.
*Feels less laggy when navigating through.
*Multiple things can be easily queued.

*I cannot keep other instances queued after I enter an instance (cannot keep duo queued after leaving alert).
*It is very hard to see the highlighted selection on PS4.
*Things cannot be un-queued very easily.
*It wants to reset content (loot locks) that I don't have selected.
*When opening a menu during a cutscene, it forces me to see a "Winning team" menu of placeholders instead.
*It is impossible to see when you finally have the "ready up" highlighted in PS4.
*After deselecting an instance, it will not allow you to select a new instance, until you leave the menu and open it up again.

Actually no, I think that's a bug. You don't have to re-queue but the game tells you that you do, and when you try it just says "failed to update queue". At least that's what's been happening to me.

Side note: anyone else think the whole UI is bugged since the update? Was playing for a few hours today and my inventory screen was laggy, and sometimes using square to select an item or a blank slot wouldn't work unless I switched tabs and back again. Was a pain in the ****.

Devs, please don't double down on your latest mistake. This thread demonstrates that it was a mistake to change the interface. Just go back to the prior interface. It was not broken. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Don't insist on your new "favorites" idea. We don't need it. It caused 10 problems to try to add this one new "convenience". Accept defeat and return to the old interface menu.

And, MAKE THE FONTS BIGGER FOR US SENIOR CITIZENS. I already use TV zoom to double the size of several menus. But now I need binoculars to look at a 50 inch TV that is 6 feet away. Absurd. Use big fonts, make windows bigger.

Oof, I just noticed controller users have legends broken. You cannot scroll through the legends character select menu with a controller...

I actually like the new UI. I think it's better than the last one it's just in some ways buggy, once the bugs are ironed out then I think it'll be a better experience, I just think it got released a little early than it should have been to make for a smoother launch.

I do really like the favorite ability.

One other immediate comment as well I'd really like you to slowly work on the picture art in the centre, at the moment they're all generic except for the more recent episodes, having them be a bit more specific would be nice in time.

I'm not usually an "Ermagerd, you broke the thing that does the thing, and we'll never fix it, and it's going to stop doing the thing whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

But this UI really is a dog's breakfast.

Waait.. I have the Power Glove, the Light Gun & R.O.B. the Robot; you would think using any and all of these should work as well.

Hey now, this is a ps thread. Must use controller to be able to post here after trying to queue something up. Hehe.

A dogs breakfast you say? Like a bowl of dog food? Okay, I can work with that. It may look neat in the bowl at one point in time but it ends up everywhere, is a mess, same thing as always…broken pieces, slobbered on, and the bowl gets moved and sometimes tipped over. Oh, I thought this was about a dogs breakfast…not the new on duty menu, oops, read at your own risk.

I use a dualshock 4 controller, even though i play on PC, just sayin ;)

I do notice with the controller that it does tend to flick around ocassionally to unintended fields and you have to navigate your way back at times, but I can't say I've experienced significant navigation issues.

I'd also hazard a guess the issue or perception around 'small text' in the UI probably has something to do with console players potentially playing on televisions and sitting at a further distance, size of television and viewing distance might therefore affect experience - not sure that's a variable that warrants taking action, there's only so much you can do with that sort of thing before you start making text too large for everyone else.

The first moment of "what the Sam Hay have they done" was trying to find what I was selecting. The old menu wasn't great, but on this one, I have no idea what I'm selecting. I think I'm starting it, but nope, I'm cancelling it, am I in Omnibus? nope, I'm queuing for the seasonal.

How much do you think is associated just with "omg it's changed" though and the sense of "wtf is going on" might dissipate simply in time?
