    I was thinking about how even though some toons have the same abilities but different cooldowns. Like Shazam (soon to be released) and Circe have the same teleport ability but the cooldwon time is 8 seconds and 16 seconds respectively. Obviously Shazam would have higher survivability since he would be able to dodge faster.

    On a second thought, I think the effects cooldowns are minimal. If anything the rate of dodging, attacking, defending, etc... is already covered. You should probably leave it out then. I just left the above paragraph so you could tried to make some sense out of my reasoning.

    The frequency that you can use an ability will be looked at in the actual guide portion as timing when to use certain things to their max effectiveness goes a long way for both damage output and survivability.

    Would the pros/cons of each character's Movement Mode be the kind of thing that you will include in your Utility section?

    I could delve into movement modes and how they can effect play style. What specifically are you interested in regarding them?

    Someone maybe asked in the thread. Im on this garbage phone. But are you taking into account how often some characters are able to unleash their 'best options' and what state it leaves them in after they have done so? Ex. Catwoman hits you with her best combo after a counter, it leaves you with no shield,.no stealth, and no Cat Swipe (for a shorter amount of time) for a while.

    That'll be discussed during the actual guide portion. Basically I'll end up saying something about how to figure out when to use certain things to max effectiveness.

    I was in Bludhaven yesterday with someone who just went on and on about how Batman was the best Legend in the game. When I suggested that many good players ranked him as average, he said "they just haven't figured him out how to use him like I have". I pulled up the scoreboard, confirmed the person was barely keeping up with my John Stewart, and said "I doubt that".

    Like what? Spam a combo and clip it with a power lol?. Much complex such skill very wow.

    I'm thinking three ways to combat power spamming

    1. Increase the power cost OR
    2. Increase the cooldowns OR
    3. Decrease the damage of powers.

    What do you think? Completely open ended. I'm just a little tired of Batman's (with 6800 HP) winning simply because they can outlive most of the roster by tapping melee and spamming powers.

    I would personally prefer it to work like an opposite to AMs where instead of more powers you do use the more damage you deal, if you use one power then any other power used in a 1-2 second span will deal less damage. This will ultimately discourage power spamming without having to alter powercost/clipping.

    I am going to have to disagree on your 1, 2, and 3. Just because I was told by a lot of people how balance Batman is. Also, most of the Legend's character can do it too (Nightwing, Kilowog, Huntress, Amon Sur, etc.) I don't really see how spamming your power away like that is effective, unless your enemy is low on health, then you deserve every right to spam away and get the kill. Tapping melee doesn't do that much damage too, so yeah...you can also do the same thing to them too.:D

    Have you seen batman and bizarro face each other?


    This is a match from many months ago when I made a thread about CC/Breakouts being so broken. Literally 80% of this match has 0 counters in it. It's who can spam powers more.

    And those three were merely to get a response from someone else. I like Sab's idea of having powers do less damage when used within a certain time frame of using another power beforehand.

    So lower down power damage because of how bad CC is? yeah um...I'm going to have to say no to that too. If the problem is CC, then we should wait for the developers to fix the problem (even though it's taking so freaking long), not fix how power works in Legends. Also didn't one of the developers said something about an update fix on the test server? I remember reading something like that not too long ago.

    If this thing was in Legends, then it would make Legends kind of feel like a totally different game, since no other parts of DCUO has that at all. If they were to do this to Legends, then they would need to apply it to arena, and PVE too since the CC issue is all over the game. Sorry, but for me, I personally like the way Legend is right now. They just need to fix the CC (for the whole game), and balance out the underpower and overpower Legend's character and it'll be perfect.:D

    PS: Why in the beginning of the video you didn't fly up and lunge his pet?o_O

    The problem with this is that it can indirectly nerf the burst damage of some legends. If a legend can't use powers for burst and has a sucky weapon cough*2H&DP*cough they will not be able to get good burst. While it might bring more balance for someone like Catwoman, it will bring down more balanced legends like Sinestro just off the top of my head. I don't want to talk about how even more bad Guy Gardner would be.

    I had previously suggested that CC would only apply to NPC's and if an opponent uses two powers back-to-back in PvP. This would effectively fix CC as long as the coding doesn't get messed up. This ideal could possibly allow for Healer straining in Arenas 4's+. (Any input Talve?) Thoughts?

    Lowering the damage because of CC was NOT what I was saying.

    The vid was just to show what happens when two people spam powers. I'm not about nerfing Batman because people spam his powers, he's one of the most balanced characters. The point was people can get away with it and outlive lower health characters.

    2nd, I'm fully aware that GU47 is coming on the test server by the end of this week. But that fixes HALF the problem. Legends are still imbalanced as a Lex will beat out any Superman at the same skill level.

    3rd, I said the vid was made months ago. Don't take what I said out of context and make some cheesy joke about my skills at the end of it.

    So since when am i getting personal shout-outs?

    Healer straining is somewhat of a myth with current PvP gear.
    My breakout costs me 481 power. Every time i get average of 550,62 power back though.
    So just saying, breaking out gives me power not wastes my power.

    Don't like the 2 power idea though...sounds like a very weird system which benefits clip happy powers more than others.
    Also UI gives very bad feedback on how much resistance opponent has stacked up as resistance from separate breakouts stack.
    Just feels like you would end up wasting a lot of power in moments where its hard to know how likely stun is going to apply or not.

    Well if players choose to spam power, then that's up to them. There's nothing wrong with spamming power and tapping melee. Last time I checked, we are limited to a 1k power pool and tapping melee does some pretty low damage. I rather use combos clipped with powers to save power and do more damage. Tapping melee and spamming power is a Low Risk Low Reward thing, doing something like that will never get you better in Legends if that's all you do. Everyone have their own experience in Legends, I personally never had any problem with this at all. What you experience with power spamming and melee tapping is not in anyway unfair. I think of this as a baiting tactic, to get your enemy to block more.

    If half of the problem is being fix then there is only the another half to go. You can live, just be patient.:D

    PS: So a few months ago you didn't know that flying while lunging can kill a high flying pet?:confused: If it's out of context then ignore it. I put a post script every once in a while to comment on something that is off topic. In no way it was a cheesy joke or a joke at all. I think you are taking this simple off topic question a little bit too far. If I had use ":D", then its a joke. But I used "o_O", because you wasted quite a lot of time trying to kill a simple pet.
