    There's a funny story about the league movie, and it's why Alan Moore hates the movie system. A couple of months before the film came out, some guy came out of the woodwork to claim the script was plagiarized. The studio, not wanting a court battle to overshadow the premiere, just paid the guy off to make it go away. Moore, who wrote the story and script was appalled because settling made it look like they were admitting he had plagiarized the story. This is a big part (there are lots of other parts as well) of why Moore absolutely loathes it when his books are turned into movies.
