Which would you prefer - Keep the status quo with max level 30 and the CR race or changeover to a true level based system like most every other game? I know that lots of things would have to be considered such as power point progression and acquisition, skill points, and such. I will admit to being totally ambivalent on the topic myself.
i think this game has been base on CR, and the (Revamp coming soon) that it would be kinda late to change it to level base. Heck even the Regular guild wars, the very first had a limit of level 20 and than you had to get better gear and points to continue going up. i dont think they will change the system its been this way for a long time.
Even when players get to the Max Level of the new Expansion they still refer to the Combat Rating or rather, "Gearscore" for the end game raiding. The Combat Rating will only be determining what Content you can run as it should have been since its inception similar to how the Gearscore works in the other MMOs.
I asked about this a little while ago. The response I got was that never ending levels would scare away new players. But since CR keeps going up I don't see any real difference. Character hits level 30, what was CR (now Level) would take over and skill point progression continued on as before. The feat grind still stays. But I was told it would not work so I don't ever see it happening.
Increasing the level cap would be a good idea at this point. It would add another form of progression and would curb issues that are arising. I just don't know if they want to. Considering that would A) require them to lose lockout options (gear is the only form of progression) and B) Retooling the current set of progression. We are now in the 200s, do we suddenly reach a certain CR and start gaining XP? Do we have to go back through and level up to catch up? Do they cut it short and just say it was all a dream?
the level cap 30 is bad and mine opinion is level cap infinite is good and the cr begin in level 30 and equip level cap 30 required level... level cap infinite for more freedom of skill and powers and lil boost of stats and cr for required for quest and on duty and pvp Keep CR or change entirely to a true level based system? both thing
I say raise level cap to 70, give ppl at level 30 missions, new feats for those misssions to get to 70, and add prestige levels each prestige lvl grants a bonus depending on role your in and the prestige level.
I would love to go back to an experience based progression vs a "what are you wearing right now" progression
The only problem with this, is that with the current content of lvl 1-30 (and there is lot of it), to keep the same pace, you'd need 2.3x that content to continue for levels 31-70. Since Daybreak can't seem to come up with decent content even to fill up a DLC, do you really see them making 40 (let's just assume you went up 1 level per mission set...same pace as 1-30) more pieces of story content which you'd play through to get to level 70? And for what? 50% of the people in the game pay a few bucks to immediately advance to CR 100 anyway because they don't want to run through the 1-30 missions. You'd expect them to now go through 1-70? Not that i'm opposed to some additional content, but other than F2P or premium players, who pay nothing or minimal money, who really benefits from all that work? Don't get me wrong. I've brought 7 or 8 toons up through the storyline to level 30...for fun. It is kind of fun re-doing that content, and more content would be cool....I just don't see it bringing in the money to make it worth programming for Daybreak. Reinheld
They would have to do a "soft reset" like SWTOR did for KotFE. Basically, you kept your toon but lost everything else due to being frozen in carbonite for 5 years. It served as a way to put everyone at a baseline power level so progression could start again. There's no way it will happen here.
Agree. If they were going to do something like this. It would have been done 3 or 4 years ago. Our CR system isn't that bad. There are just so many factors that make it bad. Some of the lower tier content needs adjusting. Honestly, replays aren't even the real problem. It's the TC gear that's tradable and sellable. That gear allows anyone that has a few million in game money to reach close to end game CR on day 1. I keep seeing threads that say the TC won't always fall with a new DLC. Guess we have to watch that wording, huh? TC fall with each new event, outside holiday stuff. This sets us up to fail. There is no progression in the game. New content comes out. Buy the cheap pieces from the broker. Done. Funny, years back you could take extended breaks. Come back and replay your way back. Now, 2 or 3 million will buy you the cheap pieces and let you skip tiers. This late year, all the grinding people do. It's such a let down. Daybreak cash grab is what is killing our gaming experience, plain and simple.
