I had a wonderful time at the celebration last night, hanging out with my sisters, because that what JG is about...celebrating sisterhood. Since Alyssa and Mermaid covered the pics and video of our 9 year get together so awesomely, I decided I'd share something a little more personal.

For those who don't know I pugged my way to T5, avoiding joining any leagues. I made a lot of friends who were in good leagues, but my experiences from EQ2 left a really bad taste in my mouth for guilds. I even tried and failed miserably to build my own league. I knew about JG from my time playing Champions Online, and always thought if I was going to join a league that would be the one. Anyway...below is a post a made on our JG site shortly after joining the league. They (whoever "they" are, lol) say first impressions are the most important. If there's any truth to that, my first night as a member of JG completely changed any thoughts about being part of a league...for the better.

"Hello to all my new league mates! My name is Dametria and I want to say thank you to BallandChain for the invite last night! And to DaisytheDaring for opening the door for me (What a gentlelady!) to become a member of the Justice Girls.

I have been in the DC Universe for awhile (2.5 years) and JG is THE league that I have always wanted to be a part off. I have run a LOT of content with some of you and some of you gals may recognize me from the DCUO forums (lookin' @ Mermsie & Lemmie).
My first night as a Justice Girl was really special, not only did I finally get up the nerve to admit I wanted to join but then I got to celebrate with an all JG (well 7/8) Gates run. As a fan of W.W. this is still one of my all time fave raids. and it was wonderful.
The icing on this delicious cake [IMG] I was invited to run Trigon's Prison (yep more W.W.) and I did something I have NEVER done...I was the ***bunny (MORE POWAH!!) [IMG]z.
I plan on having many more awesome nights with my new sisters! Thank you again for allowing me into your family and most of all thank you for being the ABSOLUTE BEST league in all of DCUO!"

***Bunnies is our league term for controllers btw.

There are many reasons why some leagues fail and others can last multiple years across multiple games. For Justice Girls there are two really good reasons we've lasted and grown for so long...our leadership. BallnChain and Super Power run this league like a family, always stressing the importance of looking out for each other and treating your sisters with respect. They've show us by example that we can be great players, run the hardest content and still have fun doing it.

In another nine years this game may or may not be around. DCUO is a video game and eventually the servers will be powered off, but the feeling of belonging to a wonderful group of people and the power of community they inspire in others will never fade. And I hope to always have a JG headquarters to come home to, no matter what game it might be in.

TLDR: Happy Birthday Justice Girls. I love you.

    Sincerely,
    Dametria

I certainly don't have the history with the Justies that some of the others do but figured I'd share my short story anyway since I'm one of the few that belongs to both the PS and PC chapters which is a fact I'm extremely proud of. My first league in DCUO (which I won't even bother to name) was HUGE. But they weren't really a league. They were one of those so called leagues whos mission was just to invite as many new members as possible, there was no sense of community at all. During the time I was there (close to six months) I don't think I ever met any of the officers and despite being in a very populated league it was difficult to organize alerts or raids with league-mates, making it just as bad as playing solo. So eventually I left and spent a few months playing the PUG life and as I had expected, it really wasn't much different. During my solo period I was courted briefly by a VERY elitist league but their playstyle seemed more like work than fun with a very strict schedule they expected members to adhere to and also very strict gear/CR requirements. Sorry guys, I already have a full time job and it's not playing DCUO. Not surprisingly, these experiences led me to have a fairly low opinion of leagues in general.

By that point I been hanging out here on the forums for a bit and had already met and made friends with a number of the PC Justice Girls and I knew they had a great sense of community. I didn't even realize they had a PS branch until one morning while trying to get a group together to curb stomp MBot I ran into one of the members of the PS branch. While waiting for others to join the group we chatted about leagues, the forums, feats we were still trying to chase down and so on, the end result being that after we beat the crap out of MBot the two of us paired up to do some bounty hunting together and it became part of my morning routine before work to team up with Seahawk Woman to fight evil together which eventually led to me joining the league on the PS side.

Since joining it has literally changed the way I play and view DCUO. It is a completely different experience playing with friendly, helpful league-mates and while part of me regrets NOT being in an awesome league until I was mid way through t5 the other part of me realizes I probably wouldn't appreciate the league as much as I do if I hadn't experienced pretty much the polar opposite first. So congrats to the Justice Girls for sticking together for nine years across multiple games and now multiple platforms and rest assured that those of us on the PS side are striving to uphold the reputation of the league. (And some of us will stop by part time on the PC side to hang out and celebrate.)

    Peace out Girls :D

While I was visiting I did manage to snag a couple screen shots last night.

Here's one in Super Power's lair just before we hit the lair population limit and had to move the festivities to the base of Supermans statue.

And here's another shot of the group assembled for the Justice Girls "9" pic.

I joined up on December 22, 2012, so only a small portion of the league's history. I brought Alyssa to DCUO a few months after Shadowdragon. Though he was in a good league (before Silver Age Heroes), the activity was starting to diminish, so I didn't bring Alyssa into the same one. One day I was cleaning up some feats and asked for help getting into a mentor mission. I was helped out by a Justice Girl (Powerbird) who went out of her way to alt. I then looked up some league websites to see which ones had write-ups that matched my personality and habits. Sure enough, Justice Girls was an excellent fit. I consider Alyssa my greatest creation (Shadowdragon doesn't count because he's autobiographical), so I wanted her to be in the best league I could find. I applied on the site and was accepted the next day by Ms. Lanturn.

The night I joined was close to the end of the day for me, so I didn't run anything. I remember that I was farming the Deathstroke chest & Batwoman cape at the time. When I took a short break, I ran into Cara, Ms. Lanturn and a few others in the Magic Wing hall. I also switched Alyssa's main color to pink for the week. Since then, I've done it for my own as well as the league's anniversary.

On my second day, I ran alerts with Helena (no longer active) and duos with Satin. I was T3 at the time and I had gotten to that level without really knowing how to play the game. It still took me a while, but I learned a lot just reading the constantly active league chat and running duos & alerts with excellent teachers.

The leadership team is truly something special to keep something like this going on for so long and at top quality. I'm proud to be a in a league older than the game and with caring leaders.

Happy Anniversary Justice Girls! Thanks for teaching me everything about this game. I'll do my best to pay it forward to new members!

They day DCUO shuts its servers down, I'll be happy to move with this league to its killer... Goat Simulator MMO!

Grats on the 9th anniversary JG!

I remember the first time I met my first friends from JG. Burst Angel, Arwen, and Roxy Spaulding (which I see on Steam snoozing all the time btw and rarely plays these days). They're a cool bunch of people. I played with them a bunch of times and they're really awesome. Just by seeing how fun they are, I can tell that JG is a really cool league that has fun people. And I was right about this because I met a few more awesome JG including Dametria and Mermaid.

JG is actually one of the leagues that I considered joining after my previous league fell apart, but I ended up in TRLH (hope you don't hate me Arwen and Burstie xD).

Anyway, that's just my experience with JG. They're a really awesome league and I would definitely recommend joining them if you're looking for a league on USPC (and USPS if they have a JG league there).

I counted 19 in one pic....we can't even get 8 out at once for a picture. Yes, we will have more than 8 on...but if we get 6 out for a pic we count ourselves lucky!

    I blame Derp.

A few of Justice Girls Dark came to the festivities at the statue as well, think they missed the picture taking thought.
