Just how "free to play" is DCUO?

You guys have obviously never been in any kind of business, ever. You DO NOT mention any sort of negative (or potentially negative) statement in advertising, ever. It's not like it's impossible for customers to investigate and find out additional details using the internet.

Do you think Walmart is going to say, "Try out our new organic apple juice! It's made from 50% fresh apples and 50% damaged apple pulp!" Or a car seller is going to say: "This car has awesome features, but a new study by the Federal Transportation Commision suggests that its brakes might be responsible for three fatal accidents in Arizona, though the results of the investigation are ongoing..."

Lol. You guys make me laugh. Do you have to pay anything to download, create a character and play the game called DCUO? No. You don't have to buy a game disc, or anything similar.

If people are expecting to play all content for free, it just means they didn't do any sort of homework whatsoever and want to complain like little babies. If the company made all content totally free, you can bet they would mention it in the list of perks in the Find Out More section.

Ive had a sub for 6 years basically. That being said. Dcuo is not a real f2p and is very misleading. It dips its hands in both markets with f2p p2w tactics but also handcuffing you to need a sub. There are many true f2p games where even added content is free and they monetize in other ways.

Literally the biggest f2p mmolite right now is Warframe and all added content and everything in game is free to play and grind for or pay to get it faster. All content and game features are free. As a true f2p should be. And tbh y'all can disagree. But thats how ive always seen it. They dont have a clear business model and yes that pisses people off. If it didn't...this game would be way more popular than it is. The game marketed as a f2p is way too restrictive. Either go full f2p or go full sub. They tried full sub. It failed. So...

if anything given the rise in marketplace additions to bring in revenue (stabilizers and time capsules, booster bundles, seasonal currency for sale, replays, style unlocking) versus the popularity of the game (which it isnt very popular at all) i do think the cost for subs should get discounted. Ten bucks a month with ten bucks in subscriber perks, less for longer term subs (say 25 for 3 months, 40 for 6, 75 for a year) is about right where we are now.

which is kind of odd considering i always felt we should have a more expensive sub level with a few more perks. there was a time i would have subbed for 25 plus a month.

    not anymore.

we just don't get enough to justify a premium sub rate.

    thats just my opinion.

once you know how much this game really costs to get the most out of it its up to each person to make the decision to go forward or not. there may be special promotions coming on down the road, more open ended content like they've done in the past but theres no way they're going to do away with subs all together and the restrictions they place on those who don't anytime soon.
