the NEXT legends toon for the FLASH family is scheduled to drop. From what i understand that i have heard is that GORILLA GRODD is the next one. Is he close to being ready so we can have at least 2 MEMBERS in this family of FEATS. Also was wondering if there has been ANY WORD to maybe the other MOVEMENT VARIANTS to be eventually released would be OR if they have figured what movements could be used for these. As a suggestion since SKIMMING is alot like FLYING already WHY not use the GORILLA MOVEMENT as the VARIANT for ACROBATICS. I see that GORILLA MOVEMENT would be like when on the villain side when doing the STAR LABS mission with the duo of FLASH at the end where you get turned into a GORILLA. I also see SLIDING for the SUPER SPEED VARIANT. The SLIDING i see alot like ICEMAN'S MOVEMENT but i know it would have to look slightly different as for COPY RIGHTS. BOTTOM LINE: Just CURIOUS if the are any ANSWERS from ANY DEVS on these matters. THANKS.
A primal movement mode would be a perfect skin for Acrobatics seeing how the primal character stance would feel more authentic if I could get those characters to run like gorillas. The only thing is what would the zip-line be replaced with? A vine? That would feel a little silly. But seeing how the gorilla running animation is already in the game, I would think that idea should be doable.
They could use the VINE LASH animation for that and for the ROCKET GLIDE they could do the same animation BUT give then the JOKER JETPACK like they do with the GORILLA GROUP FLIGHT RACE. BOTTOM LINE: I think this would be the most effective for a VARIANT as most of it is already done in game. Also they don't NEED to be that different as SKIMMING is really not that different from FLIGHT as is now. SECOND BOTTOM LINE: What are your thoughts about the IDEA of something like ICEMAN'S SLIDING movement as a VARIANT for SUPER SPEED? I myself think this would be the most effective and would LOVE to see a little trail of something left behind you as you SLIDE up the SIDES of BUILDINGS or JUMP OFF LOL.
Would prefer to have the ice guy from "The Incredibles"'s 'skating' move, because Iceman tended to move differently (it was more shooting ice out of his hands making an ice-slide that pretty much pulled him along)
PERSONALLY i would enjoy that WAY MORE. BOTTOM LINE: I still see the SLIDING VARIANT ( either way ) to be the MOST VIABLE for SUPER SPEED then anything else. YOUR THOUGHTS... I did mean by the way that i would prefer the ICEMAN MOVEMENT better but whatever works for them i guess. I just like the idea of a SLIDING type move.
Yes Grodd is next and is the last of the announced Legends that we have known of for a while. As usual there is no set schedule that we the players know about but with past behavior I would guess a few months, January at the latest. As has been said in the other threads asking about movement variants in the past few weeks, nothing form the Devs has been said about them since skimming came out. As it seemed they didn't have anything in the works back then beyond skimming, they did make some changes that opened the possibility for other variants but nothing seems to be in the works (that we know of). Yes skimming is a variant of flying so of course its a lot like it, it is basically flying but with the help of disks. I think gorilla movement is not different enough from acro. Yeah there's more hand walking but climbing and jumping would be nearly the same and I'm not sure what they would do for a gliding aspect. I think sliding might take far more animation and work than is currently possible. Also, is there any DC characters that does such a movement?
Skating would just be moving the feet along the ground without lifting them, replace the lightning effect with an icy patch and fog and we are good to go (obviously not a programmer so there would be more to it than that)
Iceman's sliding would be alright I guess. They'd have to come up with a different explanation for it though... just shuffling your feet across asphalt wouldn't create that effect under normal circumstances and they can't make it an ice-exclusive slide. Maybe they could incorporate that sort of movement in with the roller-skate idea people were kicking around when skimming was announced. Sounds silly, but would be the best sliding/skating movement mode that I can think of.
That's the ice-movement was thinking of, but as Impulsively said, they couldn't make it and Ice-based movement, but roller-blades would work and the Advanced movement version would be Rocket Skates
We have asked so many variations of movement and no response ... I think they intend to do nothing for hours ... A primal race would be perfect ... Super Leap ... Roller skates... Among others... But also always wanted some powers and abilities of some legendary characters ... But I think it will not happen ... Not so early...
So i'm not a computer expert by any means so i don't know how to go about adding pictures and such but if someone could go and post a picture of ICEMAN doing his sliding then maybe EDIT in instead of ICE maybe something like a BEAM OF LIGHT per say that he could be sliding along. BOTTOM LINE: Either way SKATING / SLIDING i still think is the most VIABLE when coming to the SUPER SPEED aspect of it. Also it doesn't have to be ICE or LIGHT or whatever it just needs to give you that feel if you know what i mean.
Yup, that's why suggested Roller and Rocket Skates, as much of a variation on the Running as Skimming is to Flying (oh, and the Rocket Skates don't allow you to fly, just go faster, unless you hit a bump, and then you get uncontrolled flying )
I really like the Primal thing mentioned above for Acro. That's the first goo idea I have heard for a non flight variant! Like an animalistic "on all fours" kinda thing! Great! Rollerskates? No. That's waaay too specific. I don't see that being very popular. I can't imagine many people having that in mind for their character. Any superhero,band especially villain, on Rollerskates is automatically dorky. Sorry. The ice style slide is good. A beam of light works better so it's not so power specific. I really would like to see them tune down the content a bit and work on more things like this.
Marvel used to have a character with that movement mode (believe her name was 'Skids'), and was imply thinking of something that was similar to, but different from, Running (in the same way that Skimming is to Flying) without it being a power-specific like the ice- or light- slide Wasn't meaning to actually wearing Roller Skates, just that style of motion, same how the Acro 'Rocket Glide' doesn't have you strapping on a Rocket pack or a hang glider
