Why is the ability to un-track a mission not a thing?

Please explain what you mean by "un-track" a mission.

I don't think there's anyway to de-activate an active mission....unless you actually complete it.

Although hiding it may serve the same purpose?

    Guessing here.
I think he means unless you finished every single quest in your log you will always be tracking a quest and because of that the middle center of your left screen has a text.

Ahh, yeah, I don't think it will go away until it is completed like someone already said. Thanks for the clarification.

I do understand what you mean. I always hated that your only option was to finish a mission or track another one with the old system but at least that was the only misstep with the journal back then.

Now a days that stupid "check your journal for missions" prompt never goes away, which when you're level 30 you have no need to track anything.

Plus every side mission auto tracks and will override any mission you may have tracked already. Which is very annoying while level when you have to re-track your main mission, prompting the intro again, because if you don't many boss fights wont open untill you track it.

you can turn off the "check your journal for missions" thing by turning off the mission track reminder

Agreed, there should be an option similar to how you can remove yourself from an on duty queue. Maybe even just hitting X an extra time on the mission?

Sigh, of course that's there and most likely been there awhile now.
