Is there any point in a weapons precision dps build?

I’m looking to put together a pure brawler but is there any point when playing top level content?

Should I pack out with Prec, Def and shields to survive toe to toe with bosses?

BTW, I don’t want to tank.

Right now until they rebalance weapons the only viable weapon combos are Bow>Martial Arts Smokebomb for melee AOE damage and Dual Wield>Bow Flurry for single target.

That's not true. Martial arts uppercut hits harder than both for single target.

First I've heard of that. I have not seen anyone use MA since last year.

Hitting harder, and DPS are not the same.
I hadn't heard this either (not surprising as I play very casual lately)

I do know the Jump clip is why most use the Flurry shot

It does more damage per second if you clip it right. People use flurry shot because it's ranged and therefor less susceptible to taking damage.

That's because people say things like...
    and everyone just follows it.

Isn't that what you just did when you said:
    ???
But hey I'm not precision, if I wanted to play with weapons I'd play Skyrim.

They use flurry shot mostly for the broken jump clip.
I do agree on the safety and range

MA Uppercut does more damage than the flurry shot WITH the jump clip.

    But it's a melee move.
