Is there an Alert/Raid lists for difficulty?

I was hoping to find a cheat sheet for Raids/Alerts to avoid. Lets face it, they are NOT created equal. Some of them have really unforgiving mechanics that require timing and knowledge that random groups just won't have (I'm looking at you Wonder Woman raid that literally requires everyone not attack one of the bosses except the tank or that Black manta boss fight where everyone has to trigger bombs at the same time or you get a wipe)). And some of the alerts don't require but pretty much need some roles, healers especially. But for casual players, you may not find these things out until you have invested a good amount of time into the mission. Then people drop and the cycle or voting to continue going on and on, making it so that you can't join a queue without getting sucked back into that group.

The sad thing is, many players are just trying to complete journal entries and have no way of knowing that the missions they are trying to do are very hard for casual players. And sunk cost falicy can cause them to waste hours banging their head against a brick wall. Not to mention, feats and the like may be tied to them finishing it.

Ultimately I think the real fix is to make all normal difficulty like Event difficulty so there are no walls or wipes. But maybe that is just me.

Does this include elite raids? Or are you wondering only about regular versions?

If we talk about normal content, it is not that they are difficult, it is that some have mechanics that if you do not block or do certain things you will fail, but once you know the mechanics they are easy to do.
Now if we talk about the elites well... I would say that Clock Tower is almost impossible as far as I know.

I've run into this same situation. There are still some Alerts (much less raids) that I have yet to complete because I can't manage to get anyone competent to actually go do them and they are basically impossible in PUG (Metal part 2, VMF, and Desecrated Cathedral come to mind). Some of the mechanics won't wipe the group but others are a guaranteed wipe. I'm still trying to complete some Alerts just to open the raid for progress, even though I've already beaten the raid through Omni.

Clock tower on normal is impossible if the group won't cooperate. It was my first time in the raid and it isn't hard to figure out the first boss, but I just gave up because no one would balance Catwoman & Poison Ivy down and they just kept getting back up and then between Harley and Canary causing problems, it was a wipe every time. Never mind Oracle Bot, didn't even get to her. Clocktower I think is basically a lost cause for Omni.

At this point I don't really care about gear or feats, I just want the progression done. Personally I would love to see to an event version available for progression. There are several events that if I see an Omni queue for I know it will get reassigned because people will drop it before even accepting the instance.

The problem is that some of those mechanics need everyone to know them. Take the Perpetua "Why don't you just explode" block thingy. If the target doesn't block, big boom for people. So all it takes is one person who doesn't get it for whatever reason (no sound, doesn't look at chat, no an english speaker) and that section can be very hard to impossible.

Mostly regular because this comes up more in random grouping. When you hit Elite, the issue has more to do with people that just don't belong in that content yet/ever. Basically there seem to be some content that is balanced for a league or a lucky random group. So I feel like it shouldn't be in general rotation and would like to know which ones to just say no to when they pop up in Omni or whatever.

Difficulty is very subjective. It depends on the group (omni or premade for one....big difference) and those in it (do you have all the roles...are users clamped down or boosted low players), and a few have mechanics that will be difficult for those who've never been there, or refuse/cannot follow instructions when given.

As far as ones I'd accept and avoid in Omni...heres a short list, and this assumes at least 1 heal or tank (could be me too) in each group. I'm listing these according to speed and un-fallibility without me having to solo things. I'd guess many of my 'nope' list I could finish solo if needed...but for the time investment....why? We are supposed to run as a group....right. Battle rolling your way out of a bad run does not make it suddenly NOT a bad run.

    Alerts I'd Accept
Themescura Divided - about the easiest run in the alert tree, and can be made faster by skipping adds.
Oan Sciencells - just about as easy, but kind of long and boring with many timed pauses in the action
Saving Justice/War Crimes - pretty easy, mostly unfailable unless you stand in the gas or bullets in WC 1st boss
Starro Invasion - Short 1 boss alert, boss can be a pain, but with either tank or heal, is pretty straight forward.
Act of Defiance/Return to Nexus - Longer, but pretty straight forward.
Trigon's prison - Probably the 2nd easiest alert. Quick due to skippable adds and gettting pulled forward for cutscenes.
Zam Conversion Chamber - 1st and 2nd bosses can be challenging for those that don't know how to roll out of damage pools. Otherwise, pretty quick.
Phantom Zone - a bit slower, but again...with a tank or heal, pretty un-failable.
Underworld Trials - Coordinating the minotaur charges can be tricky with randoms, but most times you can get him to run towards you. And it's fun to watch people get exploded by punishers by wailing on them.
Rise of the Bat - Easy, pretty quick if you don't hit EVERY security camera or trigger every hidden add you don't need to.
Injustice System - Easy, but make sure YOU are the one burning the drones, or you'll have to deal with tons of extra adds for no reason.
Silent School - Pretty easy, but depends on what puzzles you draw. I've seen groups get wrecked in the Pisces (shark) room. The 2 bosses are pretty easy and straight forward for most groups though.
Batcave Breach - if no one gets caught in the hallways before the ARC, this one is not bad. if you have to clear all the hallways, push to the 'nope' list. Bosses can also be a pain, but with a tank or heal, should be no issues really.
HQ Orientation - Easy, quick run. Quicker if all 4 people move the cans out, but if they don't, they will after the 1st wipe.

    Pass
    Oolong- PASSSS, it's frigging Oolong.
Gorilla Island, Strykers, Ace, Inner, Watchtower, A51, Hive, Smallville, Courthouse - Slow...boring. Too much busy work for little return.
Star labs/Coast City - God no....Quantity over quality right here. I think these early alerts were mainly made to give people something to keep busy. A nightmare now.
BIA/FAM - Fun to run 1 time....a slog of tasks after that, and the tunnel can glitch out (Still)
Mist Recovery/Strike Team - Again, quantity over quality here. Not worth the time it takes to finish these mini-raids.
League Hall Breach/Intergang - Neither is terrible, but again, slow boring runs and LHB has the room were people need to turn cogs...which MIGHT be a problem for some. And Intergang ends up on Oolong...see above.
Fatal Exams - I used to love this one. Used to...now, the last room generally takes 10x as long as it should because people don't know how to point a green line at a green circle or any other color. And the wind tunnel? Just comedy there.
Desecrated Cathedral - many groups can't get through the Jared fight as they won't run the cages or dodge the fireballs. Then there's the Raven reflect. Hedge your bets and don't go in.
Demon's plan - Again, a last boss shoot-show many times even with a healer...and if you don't have one, have fun. Can't tank the gas and people won't roll out many times.
Rip In Time - Easy run, if a bit long IF not for the Black Adam fight and the flames. Again, a healer will take the edge off a group that won't dodge or clear themselves in the water....but yeah, most WON'T do that.
Titans Targeted - Nope....slow alert anyway, but the laser hallway can be a pain if you need to do it all yourself and a healing Cyborg on last boss can take forever if you are the only one running the cogs.
Darkness Rising - Should be an accept, but again, a healing boss on last boss makes this a pass. Etrigan can be a PITA as well, but it's the last boss and the option to add a LOT of adds for no reason that make this a no-go for me.
Damage Control - Nope...Seen too many groups biff it on the last boss 2nd half and every wipe you need to restart the whole fight over again.
VMF - Sorry...too many people don't know what 'burn the turrets' means.
Crypt of Penthesilea - Sadly, one of my favorite alerts, I'd never accept it in an Omni. 3 puzzle rooms to screw up, a reflect boss and a 1 shot boss attack you have to block and roll out of on Poseidon. 3 strikes unfortunately.

Raids? I'd just do the accept list.
Doomsday, Prime, FOS3, Escape, Necro, Arti, Fire n Brimstone, Gates, COU, Kandor, Machine, TTB, JFA, US (if closing both sides) Olympus....Gom only if I'm on a tank toon.

The rest, either too much chance for 'mechanical' issues, or just too slow. FOS1 and 2...the batcaves? Khandaq? Those all had like 45 or 60 min speed feats. That means they EXPECT them to take a long time, I mean, mixing colors in BN is pretty exciting but killing like 100 black lantern adds by the time you finish...nah. And have fun with the co-ordinated buttons in PB an BBS or the maze in AnB. Dudes in there just wandering around while the adds destroy the tubes.

Also, remember, I'm only in Omni for the reward box. I don't really care about the marks deficit of DD or FOS3 (look out Necro/COU...coming for you next), so I'll take faster every time.

I don't blame you for any of those you don't want to do. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that don't want to do them either, which makes it near impossible for anyone who doesn't have them to get them done (including myself). All of the old content is a big part of it. I was shocked when Smallville popped, same with Hive Moon Base. Others I've tried to queue into and never gotten to pop. A lot of those in your won't do list, I've never even been in and several I've been in but never completed.

Mist recovery - I've done that thing twice and don't want to do it anymore even though there are still a lot of feats that I don't have from it.
Desecrated Cathedral - Both times I ran it got stuck at Raven because PUGs suck.
Damage Control - Wish I could see the last boss. Never been in a group that could make it past Dawnbreaker.
VMF - I've only been in one group that completed it, and that's because our tank soloed Lex when everyone else had wiped. Being a cheerleader is so much fun /s
Crypt of Penthesilea - I think this one is fun too, but again don't want to do it anymore even though I still don't have the easy feats because...PUGs suck.
I'm sure I've done some of the other alerts but I have cold brain right now, so I can't remember which ones I've done anymore since most of them I've only done once.

As far as raids go, I won't turn down any of them just because I'm trying to get my Omni box. If the raid goes sour, like Clocktower did when I tried it this weekend because no one knows how to balance mobs, I just drop and try again later. I got lucky this time and got put into the 8th spot with a league that was doing The Machine raid (which I've also never done) so it was a pretty easy run for me, even though I had no idea what I was doing and died to the bees the first time they came out. Many times I get shoved into one crap group after another, so I end up not even getting the box for that week.

Go on youtube search for easy skill points to obtain, start there.
Invest in Nth Metal Detectors and use them while you’re playing to level up your artifacts, work on your load outs to have the best possible rotation for every scenario.
There is no reason for you to struggle in normal content.
  9. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

Yeah, I agree it sucks for some new person trying to complete a checklist or get some participation type feat and can't get in or complete it...however, go ask Proxy and the others. If those players (including you) can't get those things done...it's not my fault...it's yours. Get gud....gud at forming a group at least.:D But don't mention it if you don't have video proof. That will just mean you are a dirty dirty liar.

Of course...if everyone were forming groups....where does that leave omnis? Dun dun DUNNNN.

Yeah that raid is very annoying. I'm always a tank but I know the mechanics of that fight. The thing is I'm not sure if you need two tanks because I always ran that raid with just one tank (myself) and I always needed to swap out a power for a hard taunt one.

If you are in EUPCPS add me and I will heal you through any of those alerts. Well maybe not Myst Recovery... But any alert hard on the healing side, you can get me in.

I'm US PCPS, but thanks for the offer. Really the problem instances, the "hard" ones, are ones with specific mechanics that if you don't do them, they will usually fail.

It was my first time in the raid so I'm not 100% sure, but I've played enough MMO to recognize a balance mechanic. I don't think it necessarily requires two tanks unless you just don't have the DPS to burn through their defense and have to separate them. Maybe a second healer for bad canary positioning, but if you have a good healer and tank probably not. It really just requires the DPS to be aware. It was a low powered group too, and they just wanted to focus on burning Catwoman and then of course she kept getting up while they tried to burn Ivy and would mess everything up. I tried one run just focusing on Ivy myself and we got a lot closer, but I got stunned by Harley and then nuked by Canary and was knocked out and after that it was basically over because we then lost the healer and tank and the rest of the group just buckled after that.

I was afraid you were going to mention how the debuff robots lock your abilities hmmm I wonder if it's that raid or another one I'm mistaking lol

No it doesn't require two tanks but it might make it easier. That fight in itself is laughable because we're all in one small room, 8 players and two bosses yet it's one of the raids that will discourage players because of the mechanics. I'm just going to be a ***** and say if we weren't stat clamp there wouldn't be much of a problem lmao

I literally LOLd at get gud forming a group. The only groups that seem to get formed on the Villain side are whatever the current SM spam instance is or T5-6 bounties on Thursday. But, I have no video capture so it's probably just all in my imagination anyway, lol.

No it's that raid. Where you get "negated" or whatever by the trap drones. That happened a couple of times, but I just rolled with it, and moved around till I was out of the trap. I think, on normal at least, if you have 1 good tank, 1 good healer, and 2 good DPS it's doable. The others can do extra DPS or backup heal/tank. I've not actually completed the raid, so that's just my supposition on what would be needed to complete that part of it. Oracle Bot is something else from what I understand, but as I've not even made it there, don't know for sure.
  17. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

Yeah, villain side is it's own separate issue. The only suggestion I would have for that is to have a hero toon available if you wanted to form a group, then switch once inside. If you swap fast though the rest of the group could be swatting adds while you catch up before the boss. Won't help a lot for a 'speed' feat as the swap will take precious time up....but for other feats switching between factions is a big help. I've actually even done it the opposite way, where a feat group is forming and I'm on villain, then switch to hero once in.

The oracle boss isn't that hard you just can't be colorblind lmao you have to match your color to oracle color which will either be blue or red. If you're red and she's blue and you're close range while others are blue, you're going to damage your group along with yourself I think. It's pretty annoying if you're a tank and all these dpsers want to be up close not realizing their mistake until it's too late.

That's an idea, I'm just not sure I could get it done fast enough. I have a decent PC, but my load in times and then trying to queue directly into something, I'm afraid it would get randomly filled before I could get in there. Unless there's a trick that I don't know about, which is entirely possible.
  20. Amoxin Well-Known Player

Yeah, but if a group can't figure out balance, figuring out proper positioning is going to be a nightmare, lol.
