At least you have them added so you can keep in contact! I have all my closest friends added on some type of messaging/calling app and it's well worth it imo.

I haven't played for years on DCUO but my in-game family is massive. I started playing GTA Online not too long after it came out. Prior to that I had a small group that was my brother in-law, a long time friend, and two fans who actually hit me up when I gave my PSN in an interview that I did (Used to do music). Essentially we called each other "Busters, Buster Douglas, Peanut Buster and jelly, etc" due to good old "San Andreas" back in the days of Grove St. Was kind of an inside joke but anyway...

We made a crew on GTA online called "BTKZ" which stood for "Buster Killaz". For our first year it was a couple random fans and my inner circle of real life friends. I met a guy from Ireland and we hit it off. I guess I made a good impression because shortly afterwards I had 20-30 Irish guys who all knew each other in real life. I connected with another fan and his brother, and they introduced me to a friend of theirs who loved GTA like I did. He pretty much used me to rank him up, and ended up splitting on the "crew". I caught word from mutual friends that he was trashing me behind my back, and I noticed that he had removed me from his PSN list since I saw a friend request from him a few days later. We ended up going to war and the war lasted for the next 2 years.

Being at war in this game I quickly realized that numbers mattered. So I kicked up recruitment efforts whereas before I was intentionally keeping our crew small and close knit. Turns out that on that game people loved war, and we would battle pretty much all day every day. The enemy managed to recruit up to about 60 members, but they were all brand new to the game and clueless. Easy targets. However, we grew to be 800+ members strong in a game that can only hold 30 players per lobby. Several times it would be 16 vs 4 and things like that, but I always offered the leader a 1v1 fight and he would always make excuses. He actually preferred to be outnumbered because it gave him an excuse.

Somehow out of this we literally became a "family". It is actually what our PS4 community is called "The BTKZ Family". When the enemy was finally gone we were left with 800+ members worldwide that have served years worth of time in our crew, and we remain just as close knit but on a larger scale. However, playing the same old game for 3+ years started to get old once the updates slowed down due to them developing Red Dead Redemption 2. First our members spread into COD games. Then into Destiny. Then into Warframe. And it seemed like every few days our members were spreading us into another game. We even stretched our GTA branch across consoles to both Xbox 360 and Xbox1 as well as PC.

Two friends that I knew from work were in the GTA end of the crew, but they were always playing DC Universe Online. They kept telling me that I should expand into this game, and finally after being annoyed with weak updates on GTA I came here to DC. With me I brought my "inner circle" of my most trusted members. Out of those members 4 of them caught the same fever that I have, and the original 2 guys who brought me here are still on board. A few others plan to come, and I was able to pick up quite a bit of DCUO only players, but after seeing how toxic some of the players on this game are (Scumbags who had me carry them to 196 then bounce the same day they got there, people who clearly just raid the league bank on their alt, and just general un-loyal people like that) I decided that I would hit the breaks on the DC exclusive recruiting.

Currently on DC I still have several random players that I really don't know inside of my league. However, I've changed the permissions to make sure that they cannot get over us. I have managed to get a couple OG players with like 300 SP. I am pretty much going with the "Give me 10 good men and I will impregnate the ***** " method.

So as far as the day to day DCUO family we are very small at the moment. Literally around 10 members that I trust with everything, but it becomes a problem in the sense that most of us work and schedules make it to where we are never all on at the same time. This tactic worked in GTA and I am hoping it will end up the same way here in DC. If not then it still is all good here.

I too have had my fair share of great friends and moments on this game, I started around March 2011 and I still remember my first friend on this game. Him and me were always doing duo's together and when we beat our first ever Kahndaq we were so happy haha.

My first serious league I've been in was a Dutch league which was during T3, I had a break from then until 1 week after Origin Crisis launched, found out that most of my league had merged with another league. When I went over there too I was kind of the odd one out, people thought I was really bad and didn't really want to play with me until I "forced" myself inside their groups. Ever since then I had a place that I could call home, the leader of that league tought me almost everything I currently know about the game and I still talk to him this very day even though he has quit since mid T6 :(

After that league died out I had to move on to another league where I met one of the best player and friend that I could've wished for his name was CritMyPants, I've stuck to Crossfire ever since then I've been pushing for higher SP, been learning a lot more about the game and everything. Unfortunately he has quit now and the league died out with him. I'm currently in a league with people that I've been playing with ever since Nexus/Paradox and 2 of the leaders have helped me way too much (ingame and in real life) than I could ever repay them for.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the friends I've made on this game then I wouldn't be playing nowadays. the times I've jumped/flied/ran through the watchtower while talking on the mic have probably been one of the best times of my gaming life :p

Awwwwwww! <3 See this is exactly what I'm talking about! Here is a great example of why I play the game and many others. People don't realize sometimes why it is they play when everything pisses them off but this is it. The people I'm especially close to are the biggest reason I log in despite the bs in game that I don't like. Thanks for sharing with me! :D

Man i gotta shout out my OG's Even though they dont play anymore. But Sleeper Agents in it's prime was/is my family.
Chicane, Numzy, Druci, and I held it down for a while. But RL can really take a toll on the players.

But now, I even met some great players along the way through that league and now they're my new family. Formula 8, Galaxia Nova, Jolt Buldga, Papu, ThyBeastWithin, and Elemental Star. I love those guys.

2 friends that I have had for past 4-5 years in DCUO.

tbh if neither of them played I probably wouldnt either as the content and styles lately have been complete *** IMO.

the 3 of clicked b/c we think alike and all have the same sense of humor - crude, sarcastic and sometimes very troll-y :p

like 1 of my friends will be still asleep at 7am, but I'll be up and he has his phone linked to PSN, I'll PM him on PSN asking if his old *** is awake yet, wait 25 minutes long enough for him to doze off again and tell em to wake TF up lmao

In-game family. I don't think I ever had one in any games whatsoever. The closest I ever had to an in-game family was a clan in a very, very obscure dragon ball Z mod for half-life, and yet I got in by the end of their times, so I never really became much part of that family, save for the last active members who recognized me as such. We even keep in touch on FB after that time.

Now, let's see. Family from DCUO? Hm, let's see, my story in here is filled up with almosts. There was this raid completion group I formed with Ala Rebeldex and a guy called Red Templar, I thought we would make a league together, but Red Templar went AWOL and never came back, and the group idea died out.

The second almost was with JasonIsley, when I joined his league and helped him raise it somehow. We are friends on FB and I consider him a rl-would be friend, i.e., I would seriously meet and hang out with him irl. Yet it's not like family to me.

The closes I have to a family is the people in Digital Hellstorm. I don't consider myself part of the family because I don't join them in all occasions and I'm always behind on content in relation to them. I'm kinda their lost cousin. But to be real honest, I wish Fatal Star never left the league. I like the guy, he was the one who helped me in the league, along with Menelaos / More-than-one-man-elaos, another one I like to be friends with. I like Carlynn too, but I can't seen to even begin to guess what is in her mind, that woman is one sexy pack of weirdness and mystery.

TBH I never joined this game expecting to make friend, it's not that I would go like "I'm here to win, not to make friends, beesh", it's just that I'm well aware that I'm an insufferable person and below my shitposts there is a guy who runs out of things to talk about and will bore you if you don't get sick of interacting with me before that. I don't know how to socialize with people, so I have zero idea of how to keep a conversation, which is why my expectation are low to zero. Example: I have been talking to Caroline for a while, but I ran out of things to say and when I answer someone else I look at my log with her and think like "Well, by now she's probably bored of me already". Perks of working with writing: You can't stop analyzing people based on what they say, like ever.

Hm, favourites? Not in any orders, since I'm nobody`s favourite anyways.

1 - Menelaos - We both got banned from the forums for 7 days by the same time, we became friends why blaming Mepps for our ban.

2 - JasonIsley - What can I say? The guy is cool.

3 - Fatal Star - Gatorade and stuff.

4 - Carlynn Carnage - Carlynn-senpai doesn't even notice me, but I like her. She only notices me to beat me for saying things like how I like playing on hero side more.

5 - Caroline - I'm biased here. I really like her even if she doesn`t like me and will totally make out with her if she gives me the opening. Someone to talk to until she gets bored of me as well :v

Why am I saying those stuff? I don't know, I should only shitpost, not be sensitive. You saw nothing.

OP, the title of your post suggested me you were proposing a new way to customize your base (with a family theme), like:

You want an 'Nuclear Family'? You get this guys to roam around your base and talk about world annihilation with inhuman glee

Or the 'Bat family', being all dramatic
    [IMG]

Or some kryptonian renegades' projections talking about the Phantom Zone or something; plant zombies talking about how nice it is to be one with The Green; amazons praising your training regime or mocking you because you fight like a man; Blood cultist and Trigon demons having a ball. Dunno, things like those. XD

But on to the actual post, people that I knew and were my pals have left one by one, and havenĀ“t looked back. Used to have fun throwing taxies around Metropolis (Sumo with TAXIES!!!), and PVPing. Good times (as all past times seem to be).
