The thing I liked about last year's trinkets was that it was social. Just a bunch of folks throwing cake and shooting off fireworks. A celebration.

The painting? To me, it's stick it in your base = "Forever alone." I'm glad folks are stoked about an image already used as a background. Here's an image of an image you've been looking at for three years to remind you we've been here for three years. I don't use my lair at all, so any piece of furniture is a non-factor to me. At least it doesn't take up inventory space.

Does it matter it seems like Devs didn't put much effort into a gift? It does. It's as if they take their supporting player-base for granted and just figured whatever they do they'll be happy about it... because it's a gift. That's fine... that's their, "Thank you." You're welcome.

I have an awesome piece to look at each time I visit my lair. The trinkets are rusting away in my bank. And the styles? Fagetaboutit!

could someone tell me what happens with the suit that would deliver to the accounts that were connected to the game for twelve days during the holidays?

Wont even lie, this base item will at least be in permanent use unlike two other trinkets that gather dust in a bank.

pretty damn cool item too i might add.

I like the year one cape. Year two stuff was fun for a day. This looks cool and you can have it in use everyday. Though I was hoping for styles or trinkets, I don't really mess with my bases too often.

The FB's are strong in this thread, question I ask myself is, was this one reused jpg worth my 3 year sub plus miscellaneous MP purchases? And I say no, why? because I only go into my base to renew the battery and mainframe, then I am out. Did they have to give me anything? no sure didn't, but I don't have to resub every month either.

Serious note, It seems people who don't use their base(s) and would rather have social items would rather have a trinket of sorts, which I can relate to.

On the other hand, It seems most people, like the idea of a base item that is not taking up any space in their inventory, it looks neat, and can be hung up, although people for most part can not come in and see their house without being setup by the base owner.

I see where both sides can make the valid argument. Maybe next year the Devs can make a option to choose one of the three-
Trinket, Style, or a Base item. Kinda like Pokemon starters. I still think people will say just be happy with what you got, but not everyone will use/need the items they are given.

I like decorating my bases also, I'll stick this on my art wall just fine. However, it is not a big deal, the frame itself more likely took more effort then the placing of the image into it. I'll make use of it but I can totally understand the viewpoint of those that feel a little slighted for their continued support. They have a valid point against those saying "it is a gift, they didn't have to give you anything.", because we don't have to give them money either. That seems to be something that is forgotten by a lot here, this isn't something they just put out there from the goodness of their hearts, it is something we pay for and yet so many act like we should just be happy with anything they do or decide to "give" us for our support. Often it is expressed that people shouldn't feel "entitled" or "owed" anything when in fact we are entitled and owed in exchange for them even being in business or having jobs, without we the players there is no DCUO.

And honestly when it comes to the "circle of people" I mentioned, they actually tend to be the largest source of negativity on here. Some one says they don't like how something is done or offers a idea for something new or offers a idea on how to improve something, and they lay into them about how whatever the person or people said is wrong or stupid and how nothing should be changed. Just because it is in defense of the game or even the development team doesn't mean it is "positive".

The Devs are hard at work with future DLC's, i would rather them focus there efforts on the DLCs rather than some 3 year Anni present.

Be happy you got anything at all ;)
