If somebody wants to leave... Let'em go

it's like what the great Shania Twain says...Leaving is the Only Way Out.

I read an article about marriage a few years back. Its topic applies wonderfully to this discussion:

"Sometimes, just 'wanting to leave' is enough."

If you want to leave, just leave. They cant stop you.

Be wary. If I don't like you and your little friends, I will ask to leave. I may also do this when real life stuff happens. I don't do it often, but I will when I no longer find you or your company worthwhile. As a controller (alt is a tank) many groups are reluctant to let me go. I will ask niicely twice...then there will be hell to pay.

Waste my time and I will waste yours...

"OK everyone, I asked nicely. If you need me I will be in the can reading the sports section. Enjoy your raid."

Sooooo, you're willing to waste your own time not playing, but not willing to quit and wait ten minutes to get into another group?

I usually don't run into that many jack ***** when play. A lot of times I'll just help people out, but in the cases where I've asked to leave people have generally been cool about it.

We had a guy queue into the Stryker's alert last night, who demanded to leave immediately... we were at the end boss and it took all of 3 minutes to finish the run.

The guy was asking to be excused, then tried to disband... complaining that he wanted a full run and it was unfair for us to keep him there. Sorry dude, don't allow yourself to queue into instances already in progress, and take the deserter penalty like the rest of us do if you're THAT adamant to leave.

It was rather funny hearing him complain about how we were "forcing him to remain" when there is nothing we could do to keep him from leaving especially given how quickly we were finishing the thing.

the penalty apparently has been increased to 1 hour now, so yea no more 10 min penalty. Whos bright idea it was to make it 1 hour is beyond me, but its apparent that person was never in a group that would just not let you leave

Just because you queue in the middle doesn't make it a fail group. I queued into Arkham during T5 once to get my alt the speed feat. I was 103 and a dps was 103 too. Some dude left because he crashed or God knows what then another left because he didn't want to wait. Needless to say, that dps and I 2 manned a good half the alert while we had the instance search for other players. Things happen. But maybe we all need to be responsible and realize that just because a person crashes or you die once or twice, you're not in a "fail group" and to keep at it and not make the rest of the group suffer and look for someone to replace you because you had the game handed to you.

TBH, i have way to many toons that includes 1 tank 2.5 heals 2 trolls and all are capable dps sooooo if this happens i'll jsut get on another toon.

if i want to leave a group and don't get excused i just change toons, run 1 or 2 short instances and then log into my last char again.
