I see a lot of negativity on these forums regarding dlc7 and the raids. Im not claiming to be the best player or anything like that. I am however offering a helping hand from a knowledgable player. One who beats nexus daily under an hr. I know the pug life offers little help and quite honestly these forums dont either. You have those who can beat the raids talking about how easy they are and that you just need skill and to be better. I dont disagree with them but i will say odds are your not going to get better on your own. Most great players have a huge amount of time invested in this game time that most of you will never be able to obtain in order to make these raids so easy. Im here to share my knowledge about nexus and certain powets. Ill even offer in game nexus runs to those who want to learn strategies. My in game name is Gerbal and im only on usps3 hero side. So instead of complaining about everything take this time to learn and improve your skills by taking advantage of my willingness to help. You can pm me on the forums or post a specific question on this thread. It can be about anything doesnt have to be about nexus. I will say this though id appreciate those who think they know everything to refrain from answering or trying to argue my advice. I test everything and find out if its fact or fiction so my advice is given based on fact not assumption. Take back your enjoyment in this game because its a lot of fun and nothing is as hard as most of you are making it. I trully want to help you but i cant unless you want to be helped so have at it ask away.

Very kind of you gerbal. Unfortunately I am on USPC so doing a run with you is not an option. I wouldn't expect you to explain the tactics to both raids and both ops to me on the forums in full text lol (so far I have only done the T5 solos). But I very much appreciate your willingness to be helpful. This community needs more like you.

Awsome gesture Gerbal. I predict you will get many requests to "Run XYZ raid" but it's understandable i guess.

I hear from some friends that this Gerbal fella knows his stuff ;)

    +1

I am more then willing to offee tips on the ops and raids. Its unfortanute we wont be able to run in game but thats no reason to not offer help to someone. So if you need help we can start slow and work our way to the top. Knowing your power and role will help. If u feel more comfortable through a pm thats fine as well. So where do you want to start
  5. WhiteW0lf Devoted Player

No need to PM I don't mind admitting I don't already know the tactics lol. I am a gadgets DPS primarily and I run as a troller as a secondary role. Almost all of my gear for both roles is a minimum of 81 item level. My DPS gear is all modded but my controller gear only has about two type five vitalization mods currently.

Ok i guess i also need to know do you run two dps setup or with a tank as tactics might change based on the setup for the ops
  8. WhiteW0lf Devoted Player

I would prefer to run with a tank starting out.

This is nice of you. I'm gonna try the T5 ops for the first time this weekend, if I can't figure them out and you haven't done your daily, mind if I call out? Its nice when you come across somone who likes to help, rather than yell and kick.

Sorry been at work. Ok so lets start with bia. Now ill give u advice from the dps point of view. Now this is just what i find the easiest and quickest way.

Lets start in central city. Now theres 2 side bosses you can fight. These bosses drop loot but they do not drop marks so its optional to fight them. While running with a tank getting the scientist can be extremely easy. Have the tank jump in grab the adds and healers and trolls do their roles. Be sure to activate the scientist so you get credit. As long as you activate them you will get credit for them. Once you escort the scientist return and help finish killing the adds. After you get the scientist youll have to activate the ruptures. Have tank pull the adds off the rupture kill them until you can ctivate it again then do so. Kill the destroyer and enter the speed force tunnel. Just work your way through the tunnel and enter alternate metropolis.

So now that youre in metropolis the objectives are pretty straight forward just stick together and youll be fine. Now there is a side boss in metropolis i cant explain their locations youll just have to find them. These bosses do drop loot and marks plus theres a feat so definitly worth it. When you fight the lt just watch out for the bunker busters by rolling away. Fight lex you wont get loot. When fighting superman and lex have the tank get both their aggro and then have him stay on future as he will keep going range this will keep both enemies together. They have to be killed close to the same time so just switch targets until you can kill both.

Now that you are in krypton. Kill the krystal in the first room as tank holds aggro of adds. When fighting the first boss kill two adds first then focus on the boss. When fighting jor-el he will teleport to the middle and shoot a beam similar to kronos in oan. It will go in one direction then itll come back the other way. You can jump over it or block. He will do this one time that you cant stop. After that if you choose to you can prevent it from happening again by killing the adds or stunning them that are carrying the krystals. If he does go back to the middle just get away from him and dodge his attack.

Yeah that fight got me at first but then i found out a few things. Ok so heres how we do it. Have the tank(s) hold him by the blue door. Make a half circle around him keeping good spacing between you and your team mates. All lexes have a aoe move like poison canister bunker buster or futures floor. If lex looks in your direction move quickly as hes about to put the floor on you. You keep your spacing and avoid the aoe move and you should be ok as long as you can master the room.

Ok now the room thats where things get fun. So im assuming you are talking about the pull room. Where lex pulls everyone in. Yes the pull is designed for that room only and isnt limited to a certain lex. In this room there will be a small drone spawn and will go around shooting at people until tank pulls him in. This drone is the fight. You control that drone and you control the difficulty of the fight. Lex will become buffed at some point in the fight and he will gain a dmg % bonus that makes it a lot harder to stay alive. This buff is easily notified by there not being a atk debuff under his name. Lex will only pull when hes buffed. Ok so controlling the add. If you have heavy aoe dps then controlling the add becomes harder because if you kill him to fast lex will buff and the only thing that can clear his buff is killing that robot close to him. So when the add is called out we have our tank count to 5 slowly in his head before he pulls the add in and dps stay focused on lex and the add dies by splash dmg. If you have heavy single target dmg or weak dps pull the add in quickly and kill it slowly with splash dmg or target it and kill it. Again keep this add next to lex and kill it once he becomes buffed or right before. If he does become buffed just wait for the drone and and focus fire it quickly so his buff goes away. Good luck and i hope that was helpful lol. Oh yeah its roughly 10-15seconds from the drone comes out til he buffs

this is quite nice of you.

ok so heres my question, what should be avoided from doing in gates and prime?

im a cr87 with roughly equal control and damage gear, yet have never stepped foot into a t4 raid. its mostly due to no one being willing to explain them in text due to my playing without sound, its the only option for me. i have no problem understanding what to do if it is explained, i got the medic feat my 1st fos3 run and got all of the fos2 feats in the only 3 runs of it i have done. but since i have no idea if there would be things such as in fos3 in gates and prime i have completely held off on running them.

Wish there was more of this and less complaining/quitting/elitism in DCUO. Would make for a better community. Heck, I'm on USPC and I'm always more than happy to help out anyone with what I'm able. Just friend me in game. My toons are in my sig. ;)

This is noble. I think it is however, pointless. Most of the time the players who can't complete nexus don't fail because they do not understand the strats. The strats are everywhere on the forums. Players fail Nexus because they just are not dedicated to it. They don't listen or can't understand. I took a group of new players into Nexus earlier this week to "train" them how to do it correctly. Fail. I was giving them everything: the calls, the strats, the attacks. I was even calling out 3 to 5 seconds ahead of time when to block to keep from getting pulled in room 3 and calling when he was going to buff himself. A few of them got it. The rest of them just didn't want to listen. They would do the same things over and over again and just die or kill other people. The HL DPS at one point even lunged the boss when he had blue on him and killed the tank. When I told him not to do that he said it wasn't his fault and he couldn't DPS without doing it his way. 3 hours of stupid crap like that wiping us over and over.

Moral of the story: some people you can't teach. They don't want to listen. And even some of them that do listen just don't have the aptitude to understand what's going on. Some people should be left behind. Playing the game doesn't give you the right to run or complete anything. You want access to the highest gear but you can't finish T5 raids? Tough. You want Expert plans? Too bad for you. I'm not elitist but a casual player is exactly that, casual. They don't care about being good or doing well. They are just killing time. So let them go kill it in Gates. Let the REAL PLAYERS handle T5.
