Many of you may know that the most recent expansion of World of Warcraft has been a major success, and despise the love that i still have for DCUO (I buyed the 1 year susbcription) i´m really hooked to this game right now, here is a little video with the music of Ed Sheeran and the In-game cinematics of this astonishing story of Legion: Some interesting numbers shared by Blizzard during the Pre-expansion event: - 155 Millions of Heroes fought against the Demons on the Burning Legion during the event. - 2,5 Millions of Invasions defeated. - 3,9 Millions of Demon Hunters (New Class) were created - 1,7 Millions of Dungeons were compleated by a group of 4 Demon Hunters Source: https://worldofwarcraft.com/es-es/news/20271400 If only Daybreak could hire more manpower to reinforce the Developer team to see something similar here on DCUO...
The real question isn't how WoW is doing right now. The question is how it'll be doing in a few weeks when the expansion is old news. They were really low on subscribers before the expansion, so how long will people stay this time? Two weeks? A month?
26 of this month the first patch hit with the new Raids, you can be all skeptical you want but this is the expansion that the fans were waiting for, there are tons of stuff to do. I just logged out from DCUO, did my event a few PVP matches and then log off... there is nothing much to do right now here anyways. Now im going to keep gearing my shaman for the new Raids, have fun with whatever game you want to play budy
A fan can dream bro! lol I´m really hooked on WoW, but i still love DCUO, i just hope it gets better.
I´m still around login almost eveyday to chat with the friends in-game and play a few pvp matches to finish my 101 pvp gear, but like i said, there is nothing much to do nowdays to keep me playing more than an hour daily...
Raids are fun and all, but for how long? And how many are actually playing them? I'm just saying that in all my years of MMORPGs, I haven't met many people who enjoy doing the same raid over and over and over and over and over. Some do, but most won't. Most of my friends don't even raid a single time, as they take far too long, requires grinding the raid over and over and over for gear you only need to do even more raiding, and aren't really fun to begin with. As for "whatever game you want to play", that's easy enough. Marvel Heroes. I did a /played yesterday to check how long I've played. There are very few games I've played more than 100 hours, MMOs included. I've played Marvel Heroes around 850 hours so far. Not bad for a free game. (and as for raiding in Marvel Heroes... we can do it, but I still haven't bothered.)
People like you who think that WoW is dead are so far from the truth... even on its lowest user peek, WoW had more subscribers than newer mmo´s out there... now that user numbers are higher than 4 years ever future looks bright for the king of mmorpgs Also... Marvel Heroes? really? hahahaha, even DCUO is far better than that Diablo 2 travesti.
Why don't people ever read what I write anymore? At its peak, WoW had around 12 million active subscribers. Pre-Legion, it was down to 5 million (last I checked). Sure the numbers went up now, but, again, for how long? I'm not saying WoW is dead. All I'm saying is the numbers obviously went up with the next expansion, as they always do. But what makes anyone think the numbers are going to stay that high for long? As soon as people are done with the new content, they are going to abandon the game again. It has happened with every single expansion they have released, and Legion isn't going to change anything.
Word of mouth has been amazing so far, besides, Blizzard has put special attention to deliver heavy pve and open world content to keep the players engaged, and the new scaling-tech in the new zones makes all the content relevant, even at high end content.
