I love DCUO so can you remove the stat clamp already?

Haha, well it does seem like he can't handle it either way, can he. I be a hard head valiant defender and he trash talks me.

I take a softer, more forgiving approach and he trash talks me for it.

At this point it's clear he just wants to fight, my guess is, he's worried this won't make 400 pages if we're no longer fighting :D :D

Okay that one made me laugh lol

I appreciate your softer approach lol

    1) Of course I can handle it either way... one sees that change is desperately needed... and the other was a joke of stance...

    2) I'm pointing out the irony/hypocrisy that this "I disingenuously attack their requests because I assume that they are being disingenuous" is what (helped) led to this thread to being 380 pages... and, yes, well on its way to 400. :p

I wonder, what if as the original publisher of this thread i asked for it to be closed and buried?
    Would that request be honored?
  6. GhostRyder3000 Loyal Player

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

    EDIT:
Also... There are now multiple threads that have melding into this one... the original publishers of those threads might not want their work thrown into oblivion.

    EDIT edit:
And... C'mon, man.... We're sooooo close to 400. [IMG]

And, can I just point out how you say you've been consistent for the last 387 pages... yet, also admit that you are now taking a "softer, more forgiving approach" on the same page....

SUPERFRIEND SAFETY TIP: Nobody needs you to be forgiving....
If you just don't be jerk right off the bat when they voice a desire for change... especially when you also see a need for change... You don't later have to start acting like a normal human being.
Just be decent at the start of the conversation... and then we don't have to waste a year and a half trying to get you to start acting like it. ;)

As horrific as that ordeal was (I was there too), I feel like (with the current direction of the game) that THIS game could actually benefit from such a monstrosity as NGE. Considering the main argument of the clamp all seems to come down to people not knowing how to freakin' play lol

I feel like I need to take a shower for saying that now.

Much like Dr. Frankestien, the monster is no longer under your control.

Just don't bring fire near it and he be a'ight.

Well since fire is a no-no, how about some soup?

    Hahaha you’re right, I shouldn’t ruin it
I just thought this way all the arguing would stop but hey.. perhaps if the 1000 milestone gets reached then we’d finally get rid of stats clamp OR we’ll all just witness the Death of this game.

From now until 2030, which is when the IP renewal will expire, developers have time to make DCUO a profitable game. And the best way to do that is by listening to true fans of the game. As I see it, it's your last chance. I don't think they want to let the game die, but I don't think they want to invest too much either and if they continue as they have been up to now the only thing they will achieve is exhaust the old players (who are the ones who stay the most) and the game will earn less and less. .

For starters Warner Brothers will always renew the license so long as Daybreak wants to you forget that Warner Bros takes a chunk of this game as income. The day that Daybreak doesn't renew the license with Warner Brothers is the day Amazon games picks up this game for themselves. I wouldn't even doubt it if Amazon games is already in the works to purchase the game from Daybreak since Daybreak is selling off all the stuff they've got already which would explain the layoffs. Amazon games is searching for games just like this one with a large free to play player base. so that people would just have to pay for Amazon Prime and not a membership for the game itself. If Amazon purchased the game everybody would have to subscribe to Amazon Prime to be able to play

YAY! I already have Amazon Prime! I’m all set!
  17. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

Yeah, doesn't everyone at this point?

Not sure how Amazon gains MORE than they already have, seeing as they have almost everything already.

Nice attempt to portray me as a villain, the reality here, however, "The Con/Ghostryder" is that I'm not the one that got permanently banned on my first account (The Con).

My posts have never been particularly bad as evidenced by that point, I just chose not to mince words at times.

Over the past few pages I've tried to be a little nicer in my message delivery, which is what my words meant, I am not requiring your forgiveness, although "The Clamp God" Cyclonic serves may very well request that.

I am not going to get in to a back and forth with you about your petty need to try frame me as the villain of the clamp argument, so this will be my last response to you, unless you have something constructive to add about the clamp itself. ;)

As well you should. There's a reason no other company (especially those that were under the SOE umbrella) to this date has ever tried making a move like that again, and I wouldn't wish it on even my worst enemy. I was incredibly fortunate that my characters transferred over pretty seamlessly from pre-NGE to what came after (Squad Leader to Officer, Jedi to Jedi) but it was still a close call for me to walk away after the state of the game right after the NGE launched.

But that's enough ranting about the past. LOL As for the "people not knowing how to play" aspect of the discussion, I'm still firmly in the "having one OP player blast through group content for the other 3-7 players" is far less of an ideal situation for learning than one where everyone is pretty much on a level playing field and has to pull their own weight. Whether or not veteran players take the opportunity to teach and/or newer players take the opportunity to learn is the tricky part of the equation.

Like I said, I don't go searching/surfing for elite content quantities in the game, plus I'm still having fun making my way through the content at my own "slow and steady" pace. LOL

Even with that in mind, though, I still stand by my statement. There's way more non-elite content in the game than elite, so I'm not sure how much it can factor into the equation.
