I love DCUO so can you remove the stat clamp already?

I've said it a million times, but I (and I'm sure many others could) am totally reasonable if we just approach this topic with an open mind and treat it for what it is. Entirely hypothetical. You just have to take a step back and try to view others' perspectives.

Exactly, so I don't know why some folks feel the "sky is falling" if some instances did indeed get some aforementioned targeted adjusting.

See, I don't think it should require 'complete knowledge of instance', not for reg at least. Unless you want it harder than current runs. Most all the 4 current DLCs runs are frequently populated with people who ignore mechanics, die frequently and in many instances 2 or 3 people end up finishing it it up. 2nd boss on CT is a good example, I've seen many times where people get killed by the bubbles and don't get picked up...and things still get done. The further out from 'current' that content gets, less and less people will know it like the back of their hand like most of us do today, because we run it every week...sometimes multiple times if running alts or with replays.

Sure a few runs like USR that get 100x the attention that MOST old runs get, many will know better than others, but again, this then brings up how do we get people to run the other content?

And yes....I'm staring to believe someone hacked Proxy's account. Not that he isn't making more sense....but why start now, after 385 pages?

No in all seriousness, nothing I've said over the last few pages, really deviates from what I've typically said elsewhere at times. The thing you should know is that I generally tend to echo back what I see/receive, if you're going to come at me all hot headed I'm going to reciprocate.

I'm not really starting anything, I've in numerous places and in numerous threads said the clamp could be relaxed, all I've ever really stopped at is 'complete removal of the clamp' optional or otherwise, however I'm certainly less opposed to optional, outside of queue concerns, as you well know.

Kidding of course. And yes...right up until anyone says the words 'optional' and 'feats' together in which case we'll see the old Proxy rev right up again.

If they had not wanted to waste time or didn't care, we probably would have had an NGE-level deployment of the change: very little announcement beforehand, little to no testing, no acceptance whatsoever of feedback from the community and having it pushed to the live servers in a completely disastrous state, with years of rebalancing and adjustments having to be made.

Been there, done that, and I even actually have a t-shirt as a result of the whole mess. LOL Had that happened, we wouldn't be having this conversation because I would have dropped the game like a hot rock and washed my hands of the whole thing rather than go through all that again.

Unfortunately that's something that's subjective enough that disagreements are going to take place, especially with the folks who are making the game itself. And our input on that front, I think, is only going to go so far in the face of what the devs want for us to experience.

And speaking on my own thoughts, I'm not sure how far including elite/elite+ content into the conversation is going to go, considering how much of that is still in endgame AND how much more non-elite content there is in the game. I don't know if it's equally portioned (can't say for sure, don't go surfing often for how many elite instances there are in the game lol) enough to bring into the conversation.

I gotta admit.... I don't even know where to begin....

It just seems like Bizarro World....


Which is where I think the next DLC is going to take place.

I use to be against keeping stats clamped these days with the game in its current state, imo stat clamp is hurting the game. A lot of feats are behind old content that at times people simply don't have the time to wait around for others. We also should have the option to solo Que old content I know for a fact I have some old feats that I can get but haven't had luck cause someone either ruins the feat or can't get a group for it.

Actually I've said this before as well, I'm more against people being disingenuous about their motivations rather than the motivation itself.

People try to deny they want easier feats, which is why the conversation goes down that line.

If only they said "Hey take away the clamp because I find the feats unreasonably difficult' then the conversation would be different.

In a scenario like that, again I don't think I'd go as far as removing the clamp, but I would agree, there are definitely a bunch of unreasonable feats which would be alleviated either through a game wide clamp relaxation or targeted adjustments..

None of which seem to be coming because again, it seems EEG is an after-thought.

What do you mean, there's a heaps of elite EEG content including now 3 DLC's worth of what could be termed elite+ which started off as "critical, moderate" etc in FFE.

I can absolutely, unequivocally declare that the conversation would be the exact same for me. Whether or not they want easy feats is irrelevent. They want to be lazy entitled princesses. It's an unforgivable sin in the book of clamp. Confession of anything opposing the clamp warrants complete and total defenestration without remorse.

No, again nothing I've said in the last few pages is really any different than what I've always said, so don't start with the misplaced indignation as if I were the only one involved in any communications within this 380 page thread and that my posts were the reason for its length, that simply isn't true no matter which way you want to spin it.

My posts are riddled with comments about relaxing the clamp, targeted adjustments and including comments before where I've told you to be honest with expressing your motivations about what you want, especially with respect to feats, not only in this thread, but, in various places, where the topic has been raised on the forum.

Nothing regarding my position has changed other than me trying to be a little more friendlier towards you, if you want to continue behaving as you are with this post then I'm quite content with going back to echoing the same negative mentality you're exhibiting here.

Your stance seems to get softer every day. It's not just him that sees it. What was once a valiant defender and potential arbiter of clamp has become a sympathizer of heathenous foolery. You need to take your balls back and show us you're still one of us.
