I love DCUO so can you remove the stat clamp already?

Not sure I would say 9/10.... but....
When you start playing DCUO.. you start DPS by default... and many never stop playing DPS.

That is something that is old... and not unique to DCUO.

Wayyyyyyyyyy back when.... when playing D&D... already back then no one really wanted to play a Cleric and be the Healer of the group.
The most popular option was always to play a Fighter Class to beat the snot of them EEViLLL Goblins.

D&D tried to fix this with 3rd Edition by making the Cleric OP with the Cleric Domains and allowing them to convert spells into healing spells.

It did work a bit..... you could now make a Cleric that could act as a Fighter.
Or you could make a Cleric of Mask that could act like a Rogue.

It made the Cleric more versatile.... and OP.

But still..... usually to get a Healer in the group.... someone had to sacrifice himself to select a Cleric class.

Sadly.... most people see playing a support role as playing a lesser class.
It's sad..... but that is why we have so many DPSes in the game. :(

And even when someone decides to sacrifice themselves to play the Healer.....
they usually still play like a DPS and try to do damage with their Healer as opposed to.... healing. :(

    I used to tank...

But, to me, the game - itself - became too unfriendly to support role building/maintaining....

    See response to GhostRyder below.

All jokes aside....How often besides yourself do you actually think players would run content clamped? Sure, they could opt in to play with the big boys...after all according to most...."It's my way or the highway, now stand back while I whip this thing out and blast our way to the end." ..but exactly what would they learn?

Oh yeah....nothing except how to send you a tell numerous times asking for help, or the random ninja invite....you sure you want that?
  4. Proxystar #Perception

How often will they run content clamped, all the time, as soon as they're done with getting their feats under the optional system, then they'll be back in with the clamped maximum reward system, without the clamp complaints, having got what they needed.

Because we all know this is about the 'Feats', it's so horribly transparent it's beyond funny and what's worse is they think they're rationalizing the situation and convincing the developers it isn't.

It'd be sad if it weren't so absolutely hilarious.

Watch them attack me about mentioning feats again in 3.2.1...

So.... IF this were true.... You're supplying your own answer to why having an option isn't a bad thing.

We'd play both for both rewards.

No one left in the dark.

So you admit now it's about getting easier feats.

LOL, nice attempt at a post edit, caught you though.

Do I need to link the definition to the word "if"?

I literally took 2 seconds to edit out the word "EVEN" from "EVEN IF" as I immediately saw it wasn't necessary.

I admit I want it easier for me. To play couple hours a day, 3 days a week and able to get 500 source marks. More marks for easy feats for me. The Styles feats.

Thank you Multiverse, he has always wanted to play the game with me but didn’t have his own PlayStation.
I taught him how to save up money and promised to buy him a PS5 on Christmas if he succeeds to save up half the price without spending it and he actually succeeded so i fulfilled my end of the bargain hahaha

We’re sure gonna have a lot of fun, good seeing you Multiverse we enjoy watching your videos from time to time.

I just want to point out that THIS is likely what you consider one of your 'apologies' we talked about recently.

She said 'ONE of the best' in the post you quoted....you attributed she said it was 'THE best' then continued to correct her on that. It IS still subjective, but the difference is that your insinuation that she actually claimed it was THE best then correcting her with what YOU believe is the best (and WoW may well be the 'best'...I play neither), then just kind of letting that slide when called on it is a good example of your 'I'm never wrong' policy.

See, anything even close to an 'apology' would have been something like...
"Oops...missed that 'one of' there. Sorry. Still it would be a subjective opinion......" then go on with the rest of your stuff. Maybe even pull up a list of the top 10 MMOs where FF14 is NOT on that list to back up your also subjective opinion. Just saying...you misquoted(or more to the point, misunderstood)...you were wrong...you just keep going without a pause. It's your MO...just wanted to point out a fresh example.

Personally on the 'tells' difference, from what I've seen of FF14 videos (never really played it), one thing is because FF14 is 3rd person angle, you keep a pretty good perspective on the full fight, as opposed to DCUO, where if you are backed into a corner with the camera up your rear, or are targeting 1 boss vs another (WW and Circe for example) you might miss one. Not saying that's me...but that could be where some of the perception comes from of 'less' or 'less obvious' tells.

SIDE NOTE: For grins I pulled up a few top MMO lists. I'm sure there are also other that contradict these, but these were the first 3 I opened. So while subjective still....'one of the best' does seem to fit the description and would not really NEED correction.
The gamer has WOW at #1 and FF14 at #3
IGN has FF14 at #1 and WOW at #2. Ironically enough, it has DCUO at #9....so OBVIOUSLY this is the best list
ScreenRant had one by 'ratings' at metacritic and FF14 came up at #2 and WoW at #1

How much BETTER would our players have to get if the only people running say....NGN...were people that needed to complete it? That would HAVE to learn they way we did...trial and error and sticking it out, not being spoon fed 'jump now'...'block now'...vs you and 5 of your friends jumping in to finish something you've run 100x before for 10 marks?

If the people you are looking at losing from the queues are people like Ghost...who are there strictly for the marks and marks alone, leaving people that WANT to be there...that WANT to teach or struggle or get that emotional 'reward' you crave...wouldn't that be better...even if it meant the queue popping slower? Heck, you'd probably lose a lot of the 'queue pops then is denied' complaints that Solowing and others find so harmful to their fragile emotional state.

Remove the Omni box....Get Ghost out of omni....get spider out...get ME out. Get all us big fat mean poopy heads out. Why the heck do you want people who really don't want to be there...there?

“Playing the game” is in the way of you “generating loot.”

“What does it mean to play a game?”
  14. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

I get loot in endgame....I can get loot in solos...I can get loot (right now) in a USR spam...I can get loot in bounties...I can get loot running a Doomsday Omni run (and yes...I can get Doomsday every time if I wanted)...and pre clamp (or if some option WERE given) I got loot doing walk ins on several different runs available to me. None of these involved "playing the game" assuming that includes changing diapers for noobs I didn't feel like...or watching a rotating roster of leave/reopen/leave again players...and NONE of it involved repeat failure in runs I didn't sign up to go into.

What is your point? And who are you quoting? I didn't say any of those phrases.

This is a strawman because it assumes we don't have a constant flow of new players.

In runs you didn't sign up to go into? Did you or Did you not click yes on accept queue?

Point is without the clamp you could run thru raids like Necro in 90 seconds or less…as each new DLC was being added it was another layer of extra stats that further put pressure on the instance. It was obscene and terrible gameplay. You may have liked it, but some of us didn’t. And the developers didn’t either, which is why a change was made. The content was an afterthought, simply in the way of you generating loot. The loot wasn’t a reward for effort. It was a guarantee and we all got spoiled for far too long.

Don't use common sense, Reinheld isn't interested in that he's only interested in saving newbies from their own stupidity so that they don't dare waste his time, he has characters to run and they're slowing down his mark yield. He needs that clamp removed, it's affecting his "pay"

Reinheld and 2 buddies queue up PanE and Reinheld 4-8 sits outside the room…better odds at the Ultraman Cape. :)

"How much BETTER swimmers would kids be, if we just chucked them in a river and went home to watch TV?" Lol... The whole point is to introduce new players into the game and the community, by making them actively participate and learn from more experienced players. NOT to make them crawl through 13 years worth of content by themselves. Or to effortlessly carry them, then leave them in the Endgame with no basic understanding of the game. I don't believe you don't understand this. You just want your easy solo raids, so you can farm stuff and sell it on broker in order to buy the next TC stuff, or whatever. It's understandable that you want that back - you're just not getting it.

Let me tell you a secret: nobody really needs, or wants any of you there. It's fine. Just don't play EEG. You don't need the Omni boxes, or those few more SP. You can farm marks running solos, or something, if you still need more sh*t after all these years. Or just get together and run USn with each other. Hell - you don't even have to play the game at all. There are enough people who will put up with the noobs, so that in a year or 2 there are still players, who actually enjoy the game and are not just going through the motions, because they don't know what else to do with their free time and they vaguely remember enjoying cosplay as superheroes back in the day...
