For me, there's a sort of race going on between the devs here and the release of Warlords of Draenor. If these "awesome mechanics" aren't implemented for my preferred powers before it drops and/or if they don't actually compete with the snore-fest that is WM, I'll likely not come back and use the $15/mo I spend on All-Access to buy a SC card every once in a while in anticipation of EQNext. I'm annoyed by the imbalance between powers and truly bored with the game ATM though I'll likely pop back in to check out Survival Mode once it hits live.

edit: Oh, and the Marketplace has the potential to ruin the game for me just as the Cartel Market poisoned SWToR. Quit putting shop-exclusive items in the game that are practically mandatory (Armories) or simply so damned useful that you almost need them like those total kits and the upcoming teleporters. I pay a sub to not be nickle-and-dimed for cool stuff like that. Give us ways to earn things like these by playing the game. If it means eliminating the 500 SC stipend then so be it.

Ive got a question for you.
We know most of the players are on ps3...
However how many are premium or ftp? Whats the average revenue stream? Does the ps4 population make dcuo more money? Will it?

Devs can say what they want without having to back it up with numbers. But money talks.

Example: once you pay 5 bucks you are a subscriber. Even if you log off and never play again. You still count for their "number of subscribers".

Plus promises are broken all the time. You need more info than what this forum gives to make realistic comparisons. Me, I have no idea...but I do know that when I play on my ps3 this game SUCKS especially when you compare the gameplay to ps4. Im playing on the same server as ps3 but trust me when I say we are playing a differant game.
  3. No thx New Player

You make the reader assume that because the person on the ps3 didnt get the ps4, he must be in a lower income bracket and thus is more spendthrifty on DCUO. Though the obvious scenario is in fact that most people aren't simple headed enough to pay 400 odd dollars for a ps3 look alike to play a game that was in fact made for the ps3 in the first place. Not that ps4 doesn't handle it better, but my only complaint in gameplay is the literal freezing, which i know affects ps4 players as well

I'm sure you'll find the data you're looking for will not support your thesis

Another ps4 MMO comes out......another dlc like AF with very little content....and a few more psn days where my ps4 can't connect to dc. I am about two more 10+ hour days of downtime before I trade ps4 for an xbox.

Hate to say it, but if the game were to remove free to play, then I wouldn't bother to be on. The last line of DLC(Most of T5 + First T6) have been a major disappointment for me. Besides the "visuals", they weren't worth dishing cash out for.

If they continue with the content that isn't just tank and spank, I'll probly be gone soon enough. Tank and spank isn't bad, it's just not fun to me. Let's get some bosses with a lot of different 'tells' to adapt and overcome. Lets change the environment in mid battle, as well as using the environment to your advantage, or your demise. Lets not just boost a boss's health to infinity and beyond to create unneeded long content.

inb4PS3saysno - Because I'm sure we can teleport into a room for a boss battle to begin instead of walking into it as part of a big map.(Like Prime)

That right there, will make me quit the game, all the changes the devs have done have not deterred me from leaving, I can adapt pretty well, but if anything would make me leave would be the community of the game.

1.The death of my computer at a time when I lack the funds for a replacement.
2.DCUO grows beyond what my old toaster can handle.
    3.SoE bans my account.
4.I otherwise loose access to my account.
5.When I get burnt out on it.(Not nessisarily something that would make me leave for good, but at least something that would warrent a brake from the game.)
6.I get hooked on another game.(Like 5 the new game may well be a passing phase for me.)

When they nerf fire again. I'll be gone if we get anymore nerfs!!!
  11. Valsmurf Loyal Player

It almost happened for me twice.

1- Once when we got summarily dispatched to Pro7 games in europe with all the inconveniences that entailed. Including when i couldnt buy dlc's once i left Europe because of the silly region restrictions.

2- When they mistakenly had t6 gear cost more than the premium cash cap.

We're going back to SOE and devs have promised point #2 will never happen. I don't forsee anything else making me quit except.

    3- Dcuo shuts down - that'll be a sad day :(

    - Star Citizen may make me quit, still don't see that in the current state.
    - when I get access to money/license etc. to make my own MMO ;)

    Nerfs are inevitable....

for now, DCUO players needs motivation and this thread is not helping at all.. but anyways.. yeah, nerfs would make me feel angry again and rage quit and then return to dcuo, then rage quit... it's just a cycle... lol..
  15. MrMigraine Devoted Player

    Not much.

It would take something disastrous, like if they broke the game down and took it apart and turned it into Marvel Universe Online.

    *shudder*

Realizing that I don't play this game for fun gameplay, but to look cool while collecting stuff.

    That would make me quit.

'Doing the same thing over and over again and paying for it each time' really bothers me and has since day one. I've been playing this MMO for over 3 years, it's the second MMO I've ever paid for and I'm still not acclimated to that system.

That could also play a hand in me quitting.
  17. Derio 15000 Post Club

    For me to leave:

    1. Healing would have to become so obselete that the role is no longer needed in 50%+ of content.
    2. Raids would become so basic that every new DLC is just another tank and spank.
    3. DCUO dies due to lack of funds
    4. Another MMO comes out that it much better and takes more time from DCUO.
    5. All else fails, they make my favorite powers completely obselete.
  18. Slade Wilson Devoted Player

Don't get acclimated. It's the dumbest part about MMOs - well, maybe except for the community in some cases ;) - and the less players like it or do it the higher the chance is for an MMO without repetitive content to emerge ;)

I'll be on an extended break until mental gets its mechanic.

I came to the conclusion that PvE offered no challenge and that PvP is a mess of bugs, inconsistencies and the like. It wore on me to the point of getting to the log in screen and then deciding otherwise.

There's also the community aspect, everyone else seems to have a better idea on how to troll and feels like others should conform which led to some unsavory back and forth on numerous occasions. My block list far exceeds my friends list in this game which shouldn't be the case. Even if I'm not the object of dissent, if the group is having any difficulty, someone is. Too many are quick to just point the finger and vote to kick, instead of evaluating the cohesivness of the group as a whole.

I said, "eff it for now"

If HL gets the shaft to the point where youd be better off fighting without weapons, just pure fistycuffs.
Joking aside, if my characters got deleted id go on a murderous rampage.. Not really but id be pissed and i'd shed manly tears over all that money i sank into the game
