How did we get this lag fest?

I also have FiOS and every time I go into the alert I get small lag spikes with the adds in the hallway between the first and second boss fights, and then a MASSIVE one in the Amazo (second boss) fight when the turrets pop up... and so does everyone else in the instance with me.

Some of this is related to the hardware resources... not enough or improper allocation, or possibly actual hardware failure.
Some of this is related to the operating system... tuning parameters, usually.
Some of this is related to the game server platform... tuning parameters, resource allotments and allocations, or maybe even a bug in the platform itself that need to be fixed by the folks who make Unreal.
Some of this is related to the DLC code base.

It's a perfect storm of several things.

The lag is beyond ridiculous. Can’t interact with vendor. Warping takes 30+ seconds to register. Switching armories not working. Explain to me the purpose of a membership is you can’t even play the game you are paying a subscription for? This is unacceptable. I’ve been around since launch so I’ve seen game issues far too much. Raids are unplayable and that is only 8 players. How is it that other games like COD that had maps with over 100 players and there isn’t one ounce of lag. Daybreak you are show terrible customer service. Mepps should be on here keeping us updated on their status in tracking down this issue. For all we know they are at home watching Netflix instead of fixing this lag.

Today for me it got worse in the Metropolis open world.

It’s the game bro. Good for you that you’re not experiencing any lag. You’re likely the minority. Had a hole raid group wipe because everyone froze up at the same time

Are you just checking your mail? Try running one of the endgame raids. The lag is awful.

To your original point, Mepps just said a few hours ago they were trying to work out the problem. If you've ever had a weird driver issue or perhaps tried to troubleshoot some electrical problem, you might understand. Sometimes finding the issue is a real bear. Working remotely isn't making anything easier, I can guarantee.

The lagg is on and off. Started this afternoon and didn' get lagg. Then in the evening huge lagg. And in other content excluding BoP. Raids are a no go still.

Hoping it gets fixed. But no-one with a 100 gigibit down/up/right/left elitist should be looking down on people who clearly have a good enough connection and can play other mmos, stream netflix and youtube 4k at the same time. Problem is definitely the game and those who aren't experiencing it good for you.

Was in olye last night trying to help get golden apple feat and was like lag lag everyone is dead
seems to be hit or miss because pane no lag zooe was good gome was even more odd the last boss was lag only.

Cool so your not lagging but don’t have enough players to for a raid.

where is this happening? I keep seeing threads about it, but I've just not had it, myself. I'm on EUPS4, &, yeah, there's been a bit of a lag in the new raids, but nothing even remotely as game-breaking as everyone else seems to be experiencing.

Guess it's just the US servers. Once boss fights start (and to a minor degree in other places) it's like playing PowerPoint Universe Online. Rubber banding, things not rendering, people floating through walls. It's a mess.

I have been having lag issues in the new alert like crazy and the raids to and I don't even raid regular because of it I just run event less stressful. I have one of my friends do Elite and his group had to disband because it was so bad.

It's not just raids, either. Raids are the worst - sometimes bad enough to D/C from the server not responding - but I've been in the open world and been hit with the lag/rubberbanding/surprise freeze problems just from being in the same zone as a half-dozen other players.
