How come all threads about powers are avoided by them?

They reply to people when it's about little random stuff. Who's supposed to be the one working with balancing the powers? is there even a guy like that?
  2. Silly Lizards New Player

They are too busy making too much money off of the conformists.

There are giant threads about power discussions outside of the gotham city of the forum, some with direct feedback from developers that work on those powers.

so the mysterious 'they' does respond, just not here.

You won't get a response because everything is working as intended. Everything has a purpose and a plan behind it. Unless there is a bug it will not get adressed. If all powers are equal then token sales drop. For every quantum there is a mental. There will always be a op and up power.

Just went in the "Powers, Weapons, Movement" forums, went up to page 8 and no green name. Just went to the guide section and no green name on that too.
Who is the person that's working on the powers, and why is there absolutely zero communication from them?

I can't tell if this topic and your questions are rhetorical, but I'll answer anyways.

Nobody is working on balancing the powers. I think that's abundantly clear.

It does seem so huh, but I don't want to believe that

On the Test server they have sparring targets that have finite health. All a Developer has to do is have a Fire character, using the AM Loadout, time how long it takes to kill the targets, using a standard rotation. Turn the character into Quantum (these are just examples) so that the toon has the same exact stats, and do the same thing with it's AM loadout. Time how long it takes to kill the targets and adjust Fire's numbers until they are the same.

And yet, they haven't. Everything is very out of whack and there's no logical reason why.

EDIT: There's actually a great video someone posted in the test forum a few weeks ago where they do just this, using like 6 different powersets. All on the screen at the same time. While I believe the loadouts for Rage and Nature weren't optimal in that video, it still shows the insane discrepancies between some of the powers. And not one Dev replied to the topic.

Let me explain truth to you beyond what has already been responded to here.

First, people complain, they lash out and they accuse. Devs know this. Most of them have experienced from the past the outrage players can have.

Knowing this, Devs are very careful in what they say. By them even so much as responding to a "Powers" thread, they can very easily put themselves out there to be misinterpreted by this or any other community. One example, being the Blue Lantern discussions. The most commonly given answer is, "It will never happen because the Devs said so!"

Oddly enough, no Dev has ever said, "It will never happen." (To the best of my knowledge)

Devs are smarter than that. They know better to give definite answers unless they have definite answers...because they know all too well, people misquote them on a regular basis.

So because they are scared to be misquoted? That seems like it a real reason.

Have you not seen the Flame a Dev gets when they say they are considering to implement something, then for whatever reason they realize they can't? If you have, I don't think you would be so condescending.

Go check the Quantum discussion thread in the Test section then. That thread had something like 600+ messages and many were green name responses.

As Mepps has said before, they do read over most things. Just because they don't respond doesn't mean they don't read. They have to actually work on the game, they don't have time to peruse the forums all day.

You know who gets even more flames, especially on twitter. Mepps and Spytle, yet they're still relatively active.

The real question is: Why bother? The only ones I can imagine are those who are either out'dps' ed in PUGs where mobody cares or scoreboard chasers.

(II won't mention those who just seek balance for the sake ot it - we'rwe're pretty rare out there anyways, aren't we?)

Is it really that much of a problem to just make the best out of ones power? All of them will eventually get a change so there'lthere'll be always new stuff to find out and try?

I'mI'm sorry if I misinterpreted something but to me all these threads are about not being able to be the very best with one certain power....

If I were them, I would avoid twitter at all costs. I would really rather not ever be a Dev of a game. I don't envy their jobs, yet I do appreciate they have the thick skin required to do their jobs.

Reasons Blue Lantern powers will NEVER happen:
1 - only heroes can wield it, so villains wouldn't be able to use it.
1.1 - no villain-equivalent of the power like Green = Yellow in the Hard Light powerset
2 - Only restores the power of green lanterns and weaken Yellow and Red Lanterns, the later being one of the game's powerset, Rage.
2.1 - Also only works in the presence of a Green Lantern, by themselves, they are the weakest lantern corp.

Reasons Orange Lantern powers will also never happen:
1 - Only larfleeze wields the orange ring, there is no other orange lantern, all the corp is composed of constructs done by Larfleeze himself, although the Orange lantern powers is precisely unique for creating living constructions.
1.1 - Avaricious Luthor is an exception from the comics, the "Blackest Night" saga where Larfleeze's ring was duplicated (along with all the others) and given to Luthor TEMPORARILY. The other Avaricious villains (and several other emotional iconics) are infused with mist, they don't have a ring of their own. (except the iconics from blackest night, which are: Luthor, Flash, Scarecrow and WonderWoman, Queen Meera and Atom are not in the game yet).

Reasons Violet Lanterns powers will also never going to happen:
1 - Only females wield the violet light.
2 - No healer applications, you can guess their powers is more tank-based after fighting several of them in Zamaron, but we already have a tank lantern.

It just takes one read of the comics OR DC Comics's Wikia and a bit of common sense.

The closest we will get of a healer lantern could be Indigo:
1 - They can heal otehrs based on their compassion
2 - they are a neutral faction, so both heroes and villains can use it.
3 - they got awesome unique powers like astral projection and phasing. Which could give us some really good skills.
4 - We do have several iconic candidates of Indigo lanterns.
