Homecoming is disappointing

have to chime in and agree. in order for me to be happy i need to grind out some 600 marks. i don't buy marks. i don't mind buying replays at 4 marks a pop its not the 12 replays but the grind is just grueling.

i'm not aware if something is planned or in place but we should get a vendor discount if we pop the feat with replays on other toons.

Everything should be tradeable.

I just wanna know: What are the odds for the collection pieces??

Some (2) seem to have rather crazy drop rates.

Facts. I'm down with it on week 1, but by the month's end, it could get old. Imagine if more of the recent content produced valuable drops, though... Wait, we haven't started calling capsule-opening completing content yet, have we? lol Good observation, man; I missed 3 days, but went fairly hard the last 2. Nine down, 3 to go (including vendor).

...also I have to be nitpicky. I think the extra style items and the raven emote are great but I'm having an issue with not being able to assume the raven position when you're up in the air. you're legs don't cross. they just dangle there. if it looked cool or something i wouldn't mind.

i hate that the new chest piece can't take an emblem. i think the silhouette is great. when covered with the void mat to matte black its the chest piece i've been longing for for my primary alt...but no emblem totally kills it for me.

I think now Seasonals are less extra fun bonuses but more like extra grindy things to tie us up till the next episode. For that reason I’m more resentful of them than before. Especially if every season from now on will be like 600 marks for 2 or 3 SP or less for one toon, every year for about 8 times. Kinda sucky honestly.

The Seasonals all probably feels less fun because we are use to them, we have already experienced them before and we know what to expect. For new players, I am sure they are having a ball just like we did when the experience was new to us. Maybe if there was some creative way for mixing things up each year to keep the Seasonals fun for all while still remaining true to their original experience then they would remain engaging for all.

The grind is real!

Not a fan of a feat item tied to a collection w/ a low drop for one item and 100 marks for another item. Either do a collection for a cool item or marks for a feat item. Don't cross the beams IMOP

I hate disagreeing with you... but I have too lol.

This was my first time doing homecoming, I was sick of it day one. Everything feels like it takes longer than it needs to be and you have to grind alts just to finish the new stuff (let alone poor saps like me who this is their first time).

I thought I disliked the summer event the most (even if I love the stuff I can get from it the most)... than this happened.... yeah I don't like this one at all.

Aw I had fun with it when it first came out but now that I think back on it, I guess it was because it was so new and we had never had a seasonal like it before. I agree, after the first time of running it, it not really that enjoyable. When it was new, it was much more difficult. If you didn't get behind that shield, you paid for it. Since then it has been nerfed greatly I would say,

In theory, I'd agree- I think Homecoming's very fun from a gameplay standpoint. Though they take longer, I do enjoy the mini games a lot compared to the usual hunt through Gotham/Metro for nodes. I could do without the hallway adds in the queue-in, but other than that it's not a seasonal I loathe. I can see newer players also enjoying this too, or find the amusement in it at the very least.

However, I think the main thing that makes this seasonal extremely problematic for newer players, moreso than veterans even, is the price point of everything. Once the initial fun factor is gone, most fall back to why they're even doing this at all- the prizes/rewards. Not only are single characters unable to earn everything in its entirety this year without resetting, none of the past items have been marked down. Whether you're going for cosmetics for styles, base things, and especially skill points, newer players are at an extreme disadvantage playing catch up.

I was pleased to discover that the raven emote can be used high up in the air if you have skimming as your movement mode. This is the character I HAD to have it on (after my main) so i'm good on that. I have all the feats. I have an alt close to 100 marks, a few at 50 plus. trying to figure out if i want to get a second disco ball material, a third raven emote or do i want to load up on base items.

all this rambling brought me to the idea of having each of the three games as actual league hall items you can play in your league hall whenever you want. there can even be a "league only" currency that everyone contributes too. Encourage players to form and stay in leagues, interactive league sized base items...

It violates the unwritten rule of DCUO seasonals, that you should be able to finish the current year feats using one character. Requiring players to either buy currency or use two characters used to be a big no no, with devs rushing to adjust costs so one character could do it. Sprinkling collections through old content also limits the helpfulness of alts as you can't just farm the seasonal but must play the entire game.

Doesn't help knowing that the next DLC is planned to drop next month. So after an intense round of a seasonal, we move on to a new DLC (hopefully one not as buggy but that's a faint hope), then a stretch of seasonals that take us up to March. So burnout staring down the barrel of more burned out.

I hope new players quickly join decent leagues or play with a group of friends or I don't see them sticking through all that.

Real hard for a new player to get those feats that require people to not get hit by the blast or defeat blackfire before any mooks die. People just ignore her beam as it doesn't do much to a high CR character at all. The splash damage those same high CR people put out just destroys any mooks that show up.

Yes, its significantly different from it first came out. It's been nerfed in with the onus on completing the boss fight fast than on earning feats. For feats it is always best practice to go in with like minded people who want to help get the feat either because then need too or just want to help you get it.

I been playing since 2014. So it's 1*5 years. 1 in every 5 years chances.

Now to be fair and play devil's advocate so to speak, there are some "interesting" aspects of this seasonal.
But everything gets lost in the high prices, the lack of collection drops (especially compared to the summer seasonal), and the low mark count we receive.

I also did earn all the seasonal feats from the instance... but I'd also argue its a bit much for an actual seasonal event. You don't just have to get a good group together, but you have to do some silly things to manage it.

Yes, all that you say is true. I just wish everyone could have enjoyed the seasonal like I got too when it first came out, that;s all.
