Homecoming is disappointing

I love the event idea and they do great work for the styles etc but to be fair was kinda assuming it was for teen titan etc not only focusing on Starfire all the time each year ..
Should at least have 1 style for other member each year .
When event come I see lot of Starfire then a week or 2 after event for the rest of the year I see maybe 2 or 3 each month not sure how big the demand is to do 2 different pant for the same character :/

Perhaps next year they will move on to someone else. Take into consideration that there is a plethora of Cyborg and Robin gear already in the game. Perhaps they can add the new Cyborg hand blaster style next year. Limitless possibilities, yet what is this, the 3rd annual homecoming? They will likely move on to a different character the following year.

The gear we got this year is based on her sister, Blackfire. So not the same character, but the rebirth design is somewhat similar. I did see people asking for her style. However, the event is based on Starfire (As they are throwing the party for her, Blackfire arriving, etc) although I agree they should brench out to other Titans - and give some rewards based on them. The event did not get a lot of items this year, and no base items, which is even more frustrating for a lot of decorators - but I am hoping that at least the Halloween Event will have more to offer, aswell as reduction of prices which is also very annoying.

It is called homecoming for a reason, but I understand what you mean

All the events are disappointing due to the simple fact that the new feats added are hardly noticed for the effort. Ur asking us to enjoy something we won't get any progression from cuz you do not added enough feats which don't added up to enough whole skill points. They simple don't understand why we hate events like seasonals and whatnot. It is simply because there is not enough effect to progression and that's why they should just stop doing all events and seasonals effective immediately

I respect this opinion and the reasoning behind it, but drastic much? :) Should statistics-based character advancement dominate every aspect of the game?

Within the context of some of your other posts, my guess you're saying the team should focus on allowing earned/developed player stats to matter more, but personally "...we hate events like seasonals and whatnot" strikes me as a niche perspective. No disrespect intended, fam; #CancelSeasonals seems heavy-handed is my only point.

It's the worst of all seasonals. The dialogue and animations in the alert are on another level of cringe - even by the standards of this PS3 game for kids. The mini games are clunky and boring. The vast majority of base items are worthless and nobody wants them - I still have most of the ones I bought for trading last year and even a few from the previous year. Style items are not tradeable.

The only thing about it, that's worth anything is the Tasty Pretzel consumable and even that is hardly worth the grind, because it was removed from the vendor, so the only way to get more than a few of them is to run the awful event A LOT.

Maybe something will be different this year, but I'm not holding my breath.

i think the instance is fun but the open world is disappointing.

i do like that the focus is on starfire. much as i love raven too much titans content is focused on her.

i'd like to see the storyline expanded on if we could go to tamaran.

Wait until you find out most instances are reused or the same as each other.
Wait until you find out the gear progression has been the exact same for 7+ years
Wait until you find out that there has been little to no innovation to events or gameplay structure in... Forever lol

Honestly I never knocked Homecoming because it was some of the newest content we got like in whenever. But it’s kinda funny it’s seen as stale already *shrugs*

As someone who enjoys the Homecoming games and is pretty unbothered by the queue-in, I usually welcome it. However, as someone who also mainly plays to base decorate, no furniture is a huge deal-breaker for me. I honestly can't think of another seasonal since the introduction of Home Turf that didn't provide furniture in some way, even if that drop was 4-5 items.

On top of that, the pricing from previous years has yet to go down from what I understand making it one of the only seasonals to engage with that practice too. The Sylkhee Base Totem still isn't tradeable, making it a stand-alone as well in joining the very scarce ranks of account-centric gifts and Survival Mode Totem unlocks... There's just a lot of problems with this seasonal.

As much as I adore Raven and have envied hers/Brother Warth's emote for so long, it's not enough to forgive the other missteps here. I do hope that this was an early test patch, that maybe furniture will be added even in a small quantity. That they do adjust the past cosmetic pricing, fix the base totem tradeability... But if not, there's definitely not much going on here to warrant the usual seasonal grind, even in a casual capacity.

This is what Doctor Fate should have been better used for, as it should be able to offer much more iconic style linked to the famous DC character, long awaited by the DCUO community for the 21st century, and why not, stuff not necessarily linked to the popular character for non-subscribers.

You'll get the privilege of fighting against other players as you collect ? nodes for collection drops to get the new raven meditating emote along with having to farm 100 tickets for the last piece. HUZZAH!

Maybe its the fact that this is a 'new' seasonal (meaning NOT something I've run 10 years in a row at least), maybe it's the fact there are 3 options for the daily mission credit so it's not EXACTLY the same every day, but I don't hate this seasonal nearly as much as the others.

Probably my biggest complaint is the fact that you can't just go straight to the alert fight. The extra adds should be optional as it's just more 'busy work' in an already 'busy work' run in a seasonal meant to be 'busy work' between DLCs. Other than the count feat, which would still be completed just by having to deal with the 2 groups of adds you HAVE to dispatch on the way to the central fight...just requiring 2x the runs to do so...the extra adds are just pointless. They provide no challenge...no threat...and no rewards. Do away with the requirement and just let us get to the Blackfire fight.

I'm not a base crafter, so the lack of base items doesn't bother me as much as others here....but I do get their frustration with it. Just not sure how it's worse than if they released 10 crappy items as we've gotten in some other seasonal runs (especially Xmas). I guess just stock up for next year, or get extra of previous year's items.

My issues with the event is the same for every event. They are a grind and not very alt friendly anymore. Just a couple years ago the most you had to spend on a single item was 50 marks for the collection. The style piece was 8 to 12 marks and base items was 6 to 8. This last summer event you need 375 marks just to get the styles and that doesn't include it base item. Events shouldn't be a grind like regular content. Not to mention that the 50 marks you can buy has been greatly devalue

It's especially not alt-friendly when you figure that with base items being tradable, buying in the broker, or picking up from leaguemates who are alt junkies eases the grind. If there are truly no base items this seasonal, I'd expect the 'full' grind to still be there, only on non tradable or account bound items like styles. Off-loading some work to non grind won't be an option.
  18. Achikah All About That Base

Thing is, there's really no crappy base items, truly. I've been in a lot of bases and I'm still amazed at some of the creations people make with items others (myself included) wrote off as such. Half the fun of making bases in DCUO is the puzzle aspect of it, as in figuring out something new from the set pieces we're given.

I know I'd personally be a fan of any item given, even if it's just a recolor or reskin. One suggestion was to just reskin the Glow Tubes from summer with the rest of the colors so we had a full spectrum to work with. Asinine to non-decorators, but a pretty big game changer for those that do (light sources can be really important, so more colors would be very welcome.)

I get the outlook as a non-crafter, but for us that do build often any addition of furniture is helpful- it sometimes just takes one item to spark an idea for a whole new base and sometimes those items are random lil things you never thought you'd want/need, haha!

Fair point, but for someone who just wants to complete the feats, reskins are pretty boring stuff...although necessary. If the total marks count stays the same (personally I think total feat related marks should be doable by 1 toon if needed), I don't have any issue with base items in any variation (good, bad, new, old)....but if they do add in some base items before launch, I'd hope the marks count would decrease for any existing things to compensate for buying of additional base items we'd need.

  20. Achikah All About That Base

Ah, ya, I can understand that point as well. I think the best option right now (if any were to be taken) would be to add a few reskins for decorators without a feat attached. Seasonal have always had supplemental cosmetics/items that didn't grant feat points (pirate outfit, monarch/butterfly auras, enchanted aura, etc) so I don't see why furniture couldn't also get that exemption. But that's if they deem the furniture addition worth the trouble. Verdict's still out on that but given the initial releases I'd say it's not in the decorator's favor.

But ya, just reducing the price points in general would really alleviate that woe for both decorators and feat hunters. And, at the very least, reducing past year's item prices. Newer or returning player are probably doubly as overwhelmed as the rest of us just trying to play catch up.

Also, I'll add an asterisk to the price point suggestion just because we only have a handful of items as is. If they decide on a 'resolution' to that we'd only have two cosmetics left and the emote going to 150 via the St. Pat's method of negotiation.
