Healing PVE Loadout: Soul Well, Rejuvination, Boon of Souls/Sacrificial Offering*, Transcendence/Arbiter of Destiny*, Circle Of Protection, Watcher How sorcery works as a pve healer is fairly simple... allways have your watcher up(which is almot like having another little healer that will do instant heals when needed, these will scale to cr) Allways have soul well on cooldown, as it is a fairly decent sized HoT that when it's stacking(stacks for 1 player, does NOT stack for 2 sorcery healers, its a 100% overwrite. If you have 2 sorc healers have them use these loadouts- Healer 1: Soul Well, Rejuv, Sac. Offering, Supercharge, Circle, Watcher... Healer 2: Sac. Offering, Rejuv, Boon of Souls, Supercharge, Circle, Watcher). will do alot of AoE healing, also whenever something dies it will do a larger burst heal. Rejuvination is your basic instant heal that will heal you and the group member with the lowest health, it also will add a 10%critical healing buff. Boon of Souls is a nice sheild, will protect you and 3 other groupmates. It's nice for picking people up and for mitigating damage so you have to heal less and use less power which can goto the dps instead. Transcendence is a 50% supercharge that has a 15 second cast time, during this cast time your raid group will be shielded and you will produce small tics of power and large tics of health. Another 50% supercharge you can use is Aribiter of Destiny, this will transform you into another form with an alternate loadout and effectively infanant power. Circle of Protection is the largest AoE HoT in sorc and is a very valuable heal. Place this around the largest concentration of group members for maximum healing, note that it will cancle anyother CoP before it so be carefull where it's placed *When solohealing raids like Gates I prefere to use invocation of renewal to heal the entire raid. Also make Sure you have Sac. Offering instead of Boon of Souls as it's another entire raid heal that heals somewhat like Circle of protection(but not bound to certain area). Whenever you begin a fight start with soulwell and clip that with boon of souls as that will get both of them in place in a fraction of the time. If you're in a fight then add Rejuv. at the end of that clip to heal more and still do them all in a fast clip. CoP can also be clipped with boon of souls and rejuv. NOTE: you may not allways want to clip sw/CoP with boon of souls as it can be a very good thing to keep incase someone needs to get revived or for an oh sh*t moment... If not using Boon of souls(or if you have S. Offering on your loadout) try and keep it on cooldown as its a large HoT on you're entire raid. Mods: Yellow sockets- Restoration, Red sockets- Restoration/Prec, Blue Sockets- Restoration/Health PvP Loadout: Weapon of Destiny/Karmic Backlash/Shared Fate, Rejuvinate, Boon of souls, Transcendance/Arbiter, CoP, Watcher Sorcery healing in pvp is very similar to pve but instead of soul wells use WoD to replace it for extra damage or use Karmic Backlash which will knockback nearby enemies and hit them for a small amount of damage, another option would be Shared Fate which will do some damage+debuff a tank powerset and provide some healing(more healing per target hit). Otherwise it's practially the same as in pve but leave most of the healing to CoP and the watcher, only use rejuv. when someone is at half health or below to conserve power. Note that Transcendence can be cancled if any enemy knocks you out of the stance with and object in pvp so even though it can be a life-saver be carefull with it and consider trying out arbiter to see what you like best. Mods: Yellow sockets- restoration or resto/prec(for higher damage) or resto/health(more survivabilty) Blue+ Red Sockets same as in pve. Damage/DPS PvE Standard Loadout: Shared Fate, Soul Well, Circle of Destruction, Weapon of Destiny, Final Ruin, Slot 6** Sorcery DPS is probably one of the most riducled dps powersets in the game, however when using this loadout properly you can/will beat powerful dps powersets like gadgets, hardlight and electricity. To use this loadout you keep up soul wells and circle of destruction to have aoe DoTs up at all times. If you have access to a karmic hex plan, make the consumable and use it to clip soul well's animation. Also make sure WoD is allways on cooldown this will add a large might tick to your weapon attacks and inflict bad karma. Bad Karma is esstial to sorc dps as it will make CoD hit for 2x the amount of ticks. To spred bad karma/clip spinchops(or whatever weapon attack you prefer to clip) use Shared Fate. This is a frontal cone aoe that spreads DoTs/Bad Karma and will hit for a decent amount of damage in itself. If using the standard loadout only use Final Ruin on things that have a larger life pool(not the average add in a raid, one of the larger ones or even better a boss), when used on a target with less than 35% health it hits very hard, like most finishers it has 2 tics(one small, one large) that usually hit for an average total of 4k(depending on crits and might) Another use for this is if you are forced to range(like when the tentacle appears in prime) as shared fate will probably not reach from a safe distance. **This slot is mostly up to the player, I would suggest Karmic Backlash for another PBAoE or you might want to use fury as a passive way to increase damage. If you're a speedster use Whirling Dervish and if you're flight try Vaccum Bubble. Mods: Red Sockets- Might/Prec, Yellow Sockets- Might/Power, Blue Sockets- Might/Health (if you havent noticed Sorc is might based so use appropriate lockbox rings) PvP Loadout: Boon of Souls, Weapon of Des., Karmic Backlash, Circle of Destruction, Final Ruin, Vengeance Simalar to PVE, you want to use bad karma spreading powers(like backlash, 360 degree PBAoE knockback and WoD- a weapon proc that gives bad karma to anything it hits) then you need to utilize this power interaction use Circle of Destruction for an aoe DoT and then Vengeance to polymorph enemies(put bad karma on them then use vengeance). Polymorphing in pvp has 2 major bonuses too it: First it forces them to lose their loadout and they have to run around as a dog untill they breakout(which makes them waste power), Secondly if you hit them in the first few seconds of them beign polymorphed you gain a vengeance aura(15% heal/crit magnitude and 5% crit heal/damage chance). And Just like pve use Final Ruin once they get to low health. Use boon of souls when you're taking heavy damage and you need some mitigation. Mods: Reds- Might/Prec, Yellow- Prec/Power, Blue- might/health or prec/health(personal preference if you want larger might for balance or prec for deadly weapon combos) Skill Points and General Build Full Healer Skill Points(in order of prioty): Restoration, Critical healing Chance, Critical Healing Magnitude, Movemen(breakout), Health, Defense, Dominance(sheild strength) Only spec fully into your normal pve weapon(I prefere Bow or Hand Blaster but any ranged wapon works well. Also Martial Arts and the hold range combo can be nice for healing as well, other than your pve weapon spec fully into your PvP weapon. If you dont have enough skill points to do this just spec fully into the weapon you use most. Power Points: Thats Just What I have on my Sorc healer, I prefere Arbiter but transcendance is also very good to use that build switch out the power point from arbiter and just put it into transcendance. Full DPS Skill Points: Crictical Attack Chance, Critical Attack Damage, Might, Precision, Movement, Health, Defense, Dominance(shields) Power Points: This is the Standard Loadout powerspec, if you go for the clownbox loadout switch final ruin for transmutation and and switch wisdom of solomon for clownbox. Dual Spec Skill Points: Please note that a true duo spec takes somewhere between 122 and 126 skill points(depending on movement+how much you spec into a weapon) There isnt a prioty for skill points in a duo spec, just get all the dps innates and all the healer innates and then all the movement innates then start speccing into health and defense and maybe even dominance. Power Points(if you're lazy and never wanna respec them) I got the 2 crit chance innates as I see them as slightly more usefull but I suggest just going to respec your powers for healer or dps if you want to be doing the best that you can as that role. Hope this helped some, please leave any suggestions/questions/whatever.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the "clown box" power nerfed? Also, what is your opinion on pets? I've seen quite a bit of sorcerers/sorceresses using them. Thank you.
I I'm in the process of editing it, had it done then closed the tab.... check back tomarrow or later tonight for a real updated version. And to my testing(update 22 on the test server) it was still working as it was in this guide. As for pets its really up to the player, for healing I think the watcher is essential(but not to be relied on) and dps its up to you. The fury can be nice passive damage, personally I dont like it all that much its just not for me. And the guardian is nice in pvp but I dont really see much use for it in pve, at least not in raids.
While you are at it Holy, can you also add what skills I should be looking to add...most specifically AFTER I get the Restoration, critical healing chance...what should I get, health, might, prec? I am going straight healing mode
Your pvp dps and pvE dps loadout are all wrong . That last two power sets in your pvp dps 1) takes to much power in your power bar to cast and that certain move can be counter before cast. 2) there are other better 1-2 punch that strives , as the karmic backlash then vengeance. & condemn then vengeance. These certain would morph enemies into dogs , which amazing great in pvp. Sorcery is about interaction properly the ' Karma effects ' how it affects enemies and sorcery can be great DPS using it power set correctly
Just noting on the Sorc DPS powers which will proc the might stacking from the Escalating Might IV mod for Necks (for those with no luck getting DPS neck with DPS affinity from Prom. boxes). Powers which proc - Karmic Backlash, Vengeance, Shared Fate, Final Ruin Powers which don't proc - Circle of Destruction (COD), Weapon of Destiny (WOD) There are powers which I'm not sure, as I do not use them - Soul Well, Baleful Transmogrification, Wrath, Condemn (believe this should proc), Soul Storm, Life Element, Transmute Sad to say that WOD and COD do not get the might proc from the Escalating Might IV mod, and considering these 2 powers are the staple for any Sorc DPS, this is just ...... :-\
the proccing from ecscalating might mods are based on if its a damaging super power, similar to what debuffs a tank in pvp however some powers are tagged wrong. WoD is now the only weapon proc that doesnt clip powers and doesnt proc the neck(ice bash and menace we recently updated but not sorc? and they think they get no love?) As for circle of destruction I have no idea why its not proccing the escalating might, geuss thats tagged wrong to? I havent done much testing with it as I dont have anymore space in my original post... the only powers I'm not sure that will proc it are life element and soul well(at least from that list) maybe we will see some more updates/fixes to this in the future.
Thanks for the guide. I've been trying it out for PvE DPS and it seems to do quite well so far. Also seems to surprise people with how well it does ^_^
I wish this guide was constantly update like the many HL or gadgets guides, I have a Sorc healer and haven't worked on him because of the many nerfed it's received and now I have no idea what loadout would really benefit it.
Since the update, I am using (in this order): Weapon of Destiny, Transmutation, Soul Well, Circle of Destruction, Final Ruin and Shard of Life. Sometimes, I switch out Shard for Polymorph. Works really well, and I'm doing really good damage.
