    red we = Hope Brothers?
green we = you and Venganza only?
  2. Brother Allen Loyal Player

That is correct. Back before Hope Brothers it was Me and Venge with different players and our League name was LegionOfBoom. During this time Slob was taking a break and he didn't really do 5v5 Arenas for a while before Hope Brothers. Although he did pop on from time to time and we did a few games with him, me, and Venge.

I remember those times. You forgetting rifle roll with double WoD spam and ice in pve gear with immunities while spamming MA shuriken. Difference is pvp is on life support while back then pvp was part of the avg dcuo player gameplay.

Below is a good read for everyone that enjoys competitive PvP. It'll help you guys understand a few things. Not being mean or directing this at you or anyone else, it's just insightful. I highlighted some key parts. Written by David Sirlin.

Idk what type of essay you wanted us to read but I read the yellow parts and ima just compare it to this" A player using all known cheap tactics advantages to win vs A player who sticks to a power of their liking and makes it looks good". Idk about the pc guys and Im fairly sure this new gen of ps players have no aspect of it either, but on the ps side all the way up toward early wm era, we had rules.

Before, the pvp scene agreed to straight up legit fights and no usage of cheap tactics(tho not as heavy as it is currently). The bad part is barely, BARELY are there any players from that era that is still here committed to this scene. So now we have teams/individuals who will use whatever it takes to win, and we have teams/individuals who crave ego boosts that their honor in losing is nowhere to be found.

The point being is from 1 shots era all the way to now, no teams or individuals have shown that they are potentially good. The imbalance is just too transparent. Some folks may consider it, but I don't consider using cheap tactics/exploits to achieve victories to the best of their abilities as showcasing skilled or good; and I certainly don't like all these excuses of losing fight or lack of sportsmanship shown nowadays. Everyone is running with the same setup, the same power, DEFINITELY the same weapon etc. And the sad part is majority of folks whos "preferred" or "favored" these weapons/power that they are right now is probably in the top 3 list of most imbalance powers in the game at this time.

Until the saying "Its not the power that makes you good, its the player behind it" becomes true again, I don't consider noone atm in current pvp to be as impressively good of an impact to the scene as people/leagues like Gravity, White Collar, Mass terror, The Replacements, Disqualified etc etc have been. Thats what I get from reading your essay

You didn't say PC leagues did that. You said this:

So which is it? The "back that statement" one was oddly specific. Even added a P.S. to cover all loose ends.

Either way, I was pointing out that a PS player pointing the finger exclusively at PC players is an obvious sign of bias. You can't put me in the same vein as Superpatriot for that, which would be even more ironic considering you obviously have a hard on for PC players. Where's that vid on how much you love Clutchmeister? :p

The author just invalidated your post. You can't comments about the definition of scrub coming from a person who has a background in Street Fighter and comparing it to DC. A game that has cheap tactics for every single playable character that's balanced around playing to those strengths in different scenarios is completely different than DC where it's only 2-4, in our case, power types that have cheap tactics, and every other power is unequipped with a strength.

And Clutchmeister is actually #1 on my list of top 10 PvP'ers video that's been on my channel. So, next comment?

And as a side note on that. That definition is scrub has been proven false already by Nightfall and Aesthetic/Platinum. HoB and OPT both were considered top pvp leagues using the "cheap" tactics while we 'the scrubs" were running regular powers. But after we switched, DN 'nem started winning and HoB's A Team just got doubled 2 days ago by a league that hasn't even done 4s for what 2 months yet. The people playing to win just got bodied by the people they were calling scrubs the day before. Skill is skill because it stays with you and it makes you different from player to player. Anybody with half a brain can go cheese to win. But when it's cheese vs. cheese, skill is what the deciding factor is. The sad part is that a "scrub" shouldn't have to change powers or characters just to cheese and prove a point against a bum who only wants to win.

I agree with Ringz, it's easy to win with a full fotm group so your not really showing skill when you do. You can never truly appreciate the skill of the players who hop from fotm to fotm as if they beat you, you'll always be thinking 'I reckon i could have won if they wasn't HL'. Whereas players who jump into scrims using what they enjoy using and put in work earn instant respect from me.

If you guys are actively playing with powers you dislike to beat terrible teams (current eu server is so bad) then your doing gaming wrong ;) . If it's a tournament then yeah by any means try to win, but if its just a friendly scrim why not just play to have fun?

If you guys like rage switch back to it, rage is more than capable of putting in work in scrims right now, i've proved it myself! :)

Yeah boy that Elec DPS is some FotM cheese

"You think Talve wants to be Nature? No he hates it. He'll be happy as can be the day it is balanced (or made absolute poo by having the AM removed) so he doesn't have to play it anymore. You think Clutch loves Munitions or Ice? No. He would love to play Rage again but it just isn't up to par right now. Same goes for Venge. He actually dislikes the modern day HL a lot. He would WAY rather be Rage. As for me...well I love HL :p. lol."
Was replying based off that, i've seen one video of you running elec, how am i supposed to know how often you run it? :)
  15. QuaTumTroLL Well-Known Player

Why does every thread turns into OPT and HoB using "FotM" debate? Are yall kids really that ******** that you can't keep crying about us? Not like you don't run the same setups and still lose 24/7. I see kuroki getting all tough started playing after OPT quit, he knew he's be uploaded 24/7.
  16. GhostsAndMagic Dedicated Player

    What is this video?
  17. Drathmor Unwavering Player

giving it all the power points wont make it OP it will open the power up to way more options same as celestial but it doesnt cause it to hit any harder or anything like that your still limited to your bar you will just have many more choices.
