High Cr in low content.... Again

I just want to say thank you!! I don't understand why other players don't want you in here but I'm happy to see a high Cr blast through old content. It makes me level and gear up faster. That's it. A short and sweet message. Blast away!!

And those are the key words, aren't they? It's content that's old to you.

Would you feel the same way if you were doing it for the very first time? (That's rhetorical, really. )

Migraine is one of those people who would rather wait in queue forever, than accept (Gasp!) a high -CR team member, or, even worse, (Dun dun dunnnn....) Form his own group!

Everyone is right! We all have the right to be carried, to not be carried, to steam roll, to barely finish, to be over whelmed by content and to 1 shot everything. We all have the right to run content NO MATTER WHAT!! Until we have the option to run it separately you are all right, there is no point saying who is wrong and who is right because we all are both. No one has more right to run content then anyone else whether it is your 1st time or your 1000th running it.

All I'm going to say is not what I expected to see.

And to think I was going to have to go on some silly rant about not needing two of the same thread on the same day.

I think that argument could still be made. In fact, I think it should be made.

Nah, I just don't want to spoil the 'first time' experience for new people. Most of us on these boards wax rhapsodic about the 'good old days'. When we stayed in FoS2 the first night for 8 hours. When Paradox Wave was insurmountable (except the glitchers, I suppose). When players stepped into Throne of the Dead Elite for the first time and got absolutely wrecked.

Why do we remember those times so fondly? Because we eventually overcame those obstacles. NOT because we were carried through them.

Now for the record, I kind of like blowing through the old stuff ... but again, that's only because it's old to me. I'd prefer to do it solo so that I won't take the chance of wrecking someone else's first time. (hint: teleporters!)

(Also, I do hate forming my own group. )

The counter argument was used in the current thread. That's why I said what I did.

He/she doesn't say so. It is old content even to new players, since a bunch of people join MMOs while actually not caring about the content, but just about the top content - any older content is an obstacle to them while catching up. There will always be different game approaches. I'm pretty sure that for every two folks who come to the forums complaining about being "robbed" of the experience and challenge to actually beat the "old" content by some high CR you'll find at least one player prefering to reach "top" content as fast as possible despite not having actually played the content.

So your question isn't that rhetorical, really

Hey guys. Thanks for all the comments. This is my 3rd toon. Just made the character for fun. But it sucks being so weak at the beginning part of the game and that's why I thank the high Cr guys.

I hate these threads because they are utterly pointless. New players do like being carried but they specifically like being carried around 113.. Every dc run I have ran lately has had someone under 120 in it. They complain at first because the high level is killing their fun but then they kill their own fun by entering in content they do not belong in. So either they need to be consistent or should shut up.

Since the first post started out with an 'I don't understand...' statement, I really just wanted to help illuminate the topic, so I called the question rhetorical because I didn't want to put the OP on the spot by making him/her answer it. I simply wanted him/her to realize what other players might be feeling in those moments and that - as you say - there will 'always be different game approaches'.

Everyone that plays this game has invested something. Some people have invested more money than others - but everyone has invested time. And since Time is Money, everyone's experience should be valued. Every single player here deserves to have some fun out of that investment.

We run into problems when one person's fun infringes on another person's fun - which is why this particular debate will probably be eternal...

...at least until we get Teleporters

I am on my 9th alt. 221sp, 134cr earth dps. I tried to que flash museaum today and 7 people dipped as soon as they saw the cr. A lot of people want to be carried, and it's only gotten worse when I hear mouth breathers on the mic mashing controller buttons and/or muching pretzels and chips.

Thanks man, I make the effort to use the power I've earned through progression to please.

Truthfully, I skipped through most of this thread only wanting to make a comment....

I enjoy playing older content with all of my characters no matter the CR of me or my partners. I like the the drops, the content itself as well as helping others. YW and TY

I like it when a higher cr player pops in with me. Even when i was new i still enjoyed it. I would like to see more high crs in lower content. A high cr player blasting npcs in there faces. Is better then a fail group.
