Have you ever fought someone in PvP so bad it is actually effective? Last night SeeMefight and I had an instance like that wherein a Robin was incredibly lucky with his blocking. I also just today had an instance wherein I fought a huntress who I thought had a very quick reaction time but as it turned out was just very lucky with ranged attacks. Suffice it to say I made quick work of her once I realized the block breakers were just random
Players who spam blocks. Edit: Fighting against Ice tanks. Its far too forgiving with 4 breakout powers [Trinket included before someone tries to tell me I am wrong] Seriously.
Four breakout powers?? Please enlighten. (A trinket is not a power). 1. Shatter restraints 2. Winter ward 3. ??? 4. ??? Overly picky on my part? Maybe. Just really tired of people referencing ice as such an op pvp power yet no one has a word to say about mental or gadgets and as far as tanking a earth tank is beyond strong on a node.
For number three, I think He means Reflect, Although it isn't a breakout move, it does allow you to negate damage when you get knocked down. I don't know we will see what he meant, not sure I understand either.
he means reflection shield, ice can use it if they get countered sometimes idk why cause its not considered a breakout power. bug ? fix ? nerf ? u ask for it mate
Last time I checked Reflect allows you to breakout and negate counter damage. Breakout = breakout power. Mental and Gadgets don't have so many ways to avoid counter punishment not only that they do not have a way to reduce such high amount of damage.
Reflect is not a breakout. Usable while controlled but not a breakout like shatter or ward. Mental has grandeur, t-shield and reflect which can all be used as dps to mitigate/prevent damage just like ice winter ward. Im not seeing how ice is so much more OP then mental in terms of dps but your original post was stating tanks so in that regard what makes ice so op vs say earth or fire? I may be wrong but as I understand fire has two breakout powers like ice shatter and ward along with restoration/health buffs. Do we even really need to debate a full blown earth tank? Even pre-revamp brick was a hassle now with non-stop mitigation plus breakout and shield along with brick providing self survival I ask again how is ice so OP vs earth tank? Now maybe in the famous "old day pvp era" ice was some god power but theres no way that can be claimed now days with these other tank powers. I just dont see it. Advantages and disadvantages with every power as it should be but so OP as people claim ice to be vs other tanksets? I dont see it. Now I know your part of the top legends gurus and you work in stats and numbers and o respect your knowledgebase there so if by numbers ice is eons ahead of other powers id have to see that cause it may look good on paper but it sure doesn't correlate to live combat cause I play ice and I will destroy a ice tank even with shields with a movement debuff, I cant debuff brick.
Sometimes when fighting someone with no experience is a wake up call. Like fighting a new amon sur that doesn't do the typical combo. Throws you off for a sec lol.
I simply do not like breakout powers in general. However I do not have much experience fighting Earth Tanks due to me not seeing most of them. Now Ice, that is a different story. Half the players I have faced have been Ice. Ice vs Fire? Ha. Fire can breakout sure, but can it reduce so much damage in terms of Ice? Nope. Its just rewards, you can breakout, you have CC immunity and you negate a large amount of damage quickly with a short CD. Half the skills in PvP is either Countering or Counter punishment. Ice and Earth can negate both. Fire can negate one. It leaves room for far too much mistakes which is why you notice a LOT of ice tanks who are horrid at counters but can simply win due to the negation of counters and punishment. You should not have to be required to carry a debuff just so you can defeat tanks, that is equal to carrying a certain soder just so you can beat a certain power. The next update will lower the effectiveness of shields but not the breakouts.
There's already a couple threads on the subject matter of changes coming to PvP, take this over there to keep this thread on topic Ah yes, I remember the days of lightclaws > lightclaws > block breaker As soon as I realized that those claws were't actual weapon combos and not blockable until the third hit Amon suddenly became way less of a threat
