Sounds like a lazy cop-out "we don't want to have to fix this because it'll break the game like we always do" answer if what you said is a quote from Devs. Earth tank + water healer + trol can have 7 shields up at once on the tank. Gemstone Shield >> Hardlight Shield >> Tempest Guard >> Bubble >> (Any trol SC shield) >> Amazonian Deflection >> Boo trinket. That's seven shields that stack on top of each other and can be done at once. Is it practical to stack 7 ? No, but it's possible. So by careful "design" hardlight shield can't stack with Flux or Blessing ? Sounds bogus to me. It's really detrimental to tanks survival, especially in elite and SM content when a healer with significantly less dominance cancels out your shield. You plan your rotation and protection and then all of a sudden the damage mitigation you were counting on isn't there and the whole group wipes because you go down. They can claim this to be intended but either way it needs to be reworked
It's an Iconic power and when used by, say a tank, it stacks with Waters Bubble, Tempest guard and Sorcery's Boon of souls.
I was under the impression it wasn't stacking with any Healer shield because as per the rules, the strongest healer shield overrides the weakest
It doesn't stack with bubble, bubble just doesn't override it. So if a tank uses HLS first and then a water healer uses bubble the tank keeps his HLS which will more than likely be stronger anyways. But if a tank uses HLS and a healer uses blessing or swarm shield he will lose his HLS.
And it’s even worse with electric. If the healer shield is up from an electric healer the hard light shield won’t even activate. I can confirm hard light shield overrides bubble so that’s not a huge issue. Haven’t really run with celestial or nature healers in a minute.
